I don't know if this was specifically addressed to me, but just in case it was...

Never realized how much of a shipper I am? When my banner specifically says "Fighting The Bangel Beast..."? When I am the founder, president AND treasurer of Adopt-A-Bangel? When I coined both the phrase "Friends don't let friends ship Bangel," AND "Carpe Spuffy"? When I am known from here to way over yonder as the Chuck Norris of Spuffy? When my own grandson refuses to answer to anything but "Spike?" When I have trained my attack dog to strike at the command "Angel?" When my prestige tags read "Spuffy1." "Spuffy2," and "Bnglsux?" Well, what can I say, I've always been a sort of subtle guy. Low key. Quiet. Unimposing. You never even know that I'm around. Keep my opinions to myself. Really.

how did she pity Spike? there are so many moments in season 7 where you can see through things she does how much she cares for him. The look in her eyes when she rescues him from the first for example..she knows he loves her more then Angel did and this is why i think its inevitable that her and Spike will end up together by season 10. 🙂
I really hope your right WA and Joss breaks a habit of a lifetime and lets them be happy...but wouldnt that be a little boring 😛

I don't think so. I've been with the lady that I love for almost 30 years, and it's been a whole lot of things, mostly ranging from very good to wonderful and a few times absolutely amazing. But it's NEVER been boring.

Plus, we always have to remember, Buffy and Spike are like the old Chinese curse. They will always live in interesting times.
 
true. it'll be a whole new thing though for Joss to let 2 characters be happy. Just dont see it ending happy..but i still want them to try 😀

My theory is this:
Right, Joss doesn't like happy couples. And if Buffy and Spike were to b together, it'll probably end up badly. BUT who says there can't be a happy ending when it is the ending? In the last episode ever, they could end up together, because it's the ending. I will wait till the very end when there is the biggest chance for them to end up together. It's over, so it doesn't matter if there will be a happy couple. Joss wouldn't have to be repelled by the idea if it's all over. That's my hope.

Yes I like that idea. 😀 Re thinking along those lines then I'd prefer for them to become even closer in season 9..fighting the good fight and that..then for season 10 for them to finally give in 🙂 I can then walk away happy that she is with who I think she is meant to be with and ignore all the fanfics people write splitting them up 😉

People write fanfics where they're splitting them up??! Not very nice Bangels. Now I want Spike and Buffy to end up together even more! And you know what, they probably will 😀
 
haha I didnt mention Bangels...(but yes this was who i was implying) 🙂 lol I think it has more hope. Spike is the person I think she trusts the most and she once said the only reason she couldnt be with him is because she doesnt trust him 🙂

YES! This is the exact thing I noticed myself! Buffy said that she can't love him because she can't trust him. Later on she says she does trust him, so that can only mean one thing. She does love him, or at least can!
Also, Spike says in "Dead Things" - "you always hurt the ones you love". Then afterwards, Buffy repeats that line.... Do you really need more prooves that she did love him?
 
I always like to point out though that although she said she cant trust him he handcuffs her (as we see when shes with Tara shes rubbing her wrists after hes shown them to her) and all this time she knows he could kill her. I think she doesnt trust him enough not to hurt her mentally IMO it was never about him physically doing anything. Whenever anyone says she didnt mean it in Chosen I go all ranty as she did. you could see it from showtime i think that she did (that look in her eyes when she rescues him) he needs to save the world so she leaves him to it basically lol but now there are no complications they are both champions they are both normal...well as normal as they could be lol..theres a chance it could work 🙂 just not yet...so we get a happy ending 😀
 
I found that very confusing, that she said she didn't trust him, but did let him cuff her. Conclusion: she was laying. Maybe because she didn't want to admit that, especially to herself. She lied inside and outside. It's a shame that she felt ashamed about trusting and having feelings for Spike. And it's a fact to me that she loves him, you could actually see that in her eyes, in the way she reacts to him. She was willing to die for him - while saving his "life", she risked getting killed by the Ubervamp, all for Spike. If that's not love what is?

Yeah, the more times I rewatch, I think a lot of it was that SHE was confused like we are😛 and didn't know what to make of her feelings. I know people say it was just "lust" and she was doing those things with him out of self-hatred, but really...they were way too close in too many ways for it not to have been more at that time. Then, Beneath You took things to an entirely new level for them once Buffy realised the true depth of his love for her and the lengths he would go to, and did, for her. The way she then took care of him and fought for him after that was so awesome.

They are truly equals to me, which is what i love about them so much....and now i'm all excited and can't wait for S9, but I really hope the writers don't let us down.
 
I often thought that everyone else knew she loved him way before she did. Giles definitely did and I think the main scoobies did too. I just think because it turned into such a ship war alot of the time they felt they had to tred carefully not to upset bangels or spuffys..like the open cookie dough thing i remember reading somewhere that it was leaving the door open not to upset either side..also why Andrew said that bit in Angel bout her loving them both 🙂 anyway went off on a tangent there lol i will add aswell though Im pretty sure they slept together before going into the school..and it wasnt shown as it would lower it. it didnt need to be shown
 
ok new question. How annoyed are we all going to be if they just NEVER talk about the end of season 7...??
 
That's cute, annoyed; if I never get any Spuffy/Season seven resolution I'm gonna find the people responsible and have my dog defecate in their oh so expensive luxury automobiles.


I plan on going back and forth between the east and west coast in the next few years and it would be no problem to subtly look up the work addresses and find a civil servant willing to give me car info for a few bucks. And then to fling my dogs poop into or onto their car. If we don't get what were owed; you wait. You'll know who to cover for when the story breaks the trades.


Just about that annoyed.



P.S. Not in a malicious stalker way; more of a you don't f*ck with me and my friends heart strings way.

P.S.S. I might chicken out and just leave it right outside the driver door like a Bouncing Betty.

AH! That's a terrible thought. Why wouldn't they talk about the end of 7? I think Spike would have to bring it up at some point.

What I love about the Spike/Buffy relationship is how they both seem to be able to get the other to do what needs to be done. That's an important quality with the types of lives that they lead.

She was able to get him to get his fight back after he got his soul in season seven and that was a very important step for him. And conversely, he was able to give her the strength to go get the awesome slayer axe that did actually turn out to be the key to everything.

I hope that that continues in the new season. I don't know how they'd go about a romance between them but I definitely want to see them at least helping each other.

Now this is a comic book I would buy and cherish - feed my Spuffy heart with. I love the idea of Spike, Buffy and other characters having some adventures in the transdimensional ship and with the alien insects. Too bad that these new characters will apparently not be used for very long in the next series.
 
I see the conversation coming up with them doing small talk then Buffy interrupting him and being aqll Buffy like with 'So are you going to keep being a stupid head and not talk about the whole i love you..flaming hands..you dying thing?' then Spike will be all Spike like and go 'oh so its up to me to bring it up is it. i mean you ran away. Literally. typical Buffy to get all upty and shirty because Spike didnt ring when he came back'...bantering ensues and we still dont get that bloody conversation! 🙂
