ok. whats your thoughts on the buffy spike relationship? i first was attracted to spike because he was such a badass with the leather jacket and blonde hair. but he was also funny. i guess in the seasons where he started to get violent with buffy i went off him but then i went back to loving him when he was so smitten with buffy. some of the stuff he said was so sweet

the last episode was a let down though i was upset when Anya died!!!! also Zander didnt seem to cut up about it :S

oh and who else thinks andrew is incredibly funny!!!!

but yeah back to the buffy/spike thing do you think that when she said she loved him she ment it? i wish he had of accepted it instead of saying 'i know you dont but thanks for saying it' massive let down!

🙁

cheers!

I don't think she meant she was in love with him, maybe she said it as though she loves him like a friend but to be honest i dont think she ever did love him, sleeping with him :looking:
When Anya died i was almost in tears watching the tv, i was more cut up than xander was but hey what can ya do.
Buffy & spike were really cute together and i would have loved to have seen them both as a proper couple after all the years of them fighting and hating each other i really would have loved to have seen them to get together and not just sleeping together, get into a proper relationship, yeah it may not have worked out but i would still liked to have seen it. =D

ahhh im so sorry i messed up the last post. where the smily is was meant to say 'sleeping with him was her way of dealing with life'.
sorry about that

If the Buffy/Angel were the Romeo and Juliet of the series, then Buffy and Spike were Ares and Aphrodite. In the first case, there was great avowed love and denied passion, and in the second, denied love and avowed passion. Both ended in disaster, the first turning a hero into a monster, the other turning a monster into a hero. But though the two great love affairs of her life were almost complete opposites, they shared one thing in common. Buffy really, sincerely loved both of her vampires, it just took her a lot longer, perhaps too long, to admit it.

But, yes, Buffy did love Spike as a friend, and yes, she WAS in love with him, most likely long before she admitted it to herself, and certainly longer than she was willing to admit to him. Spike once told Buffy that she and Angel would never be friends, and, ironically, he himself became at the end her most loyal and possibly best friend and defender.

i never used to be as effected by anyas death but last time i watched it i totally bawled my eyes out, it was weird and you know (lizzie) that i cry at everything... (hydrogen atom for example)

and totally agree (i tried to give you rep for this but it told me to spread it round so erm sorry for giving you rep before lol) with lizzzierainbow, it was her way of attempting to dal with life, she got in a bad relationship, an abusive not good for you bad relationship and i would mych prefer to watch that, something thats more real than the soppy relationships on dawsons creek (not that i dont love that show either)

plus the way i see it (with my eye patch on xander style) is that even before buffy, spike had a major thing for slayers, he respected their power and what they were, Angel happened to stumble across her after he had a soul and fell for buffy herself, spike loved everything about what she was and then fell in love with her.

I think the reappearance of Angel at the end of End of Days and beginning of Chosen may have clouded my vision of the Spike/Buffy thing. Then again, probably I have a VERY soft spot for Buffy/Angel and seeing Angel come back with his "Hey! *punch*" brought joyous girly tears to my eyes, lol.

I'm not sure if I would ever consider Buffy & Spike as 'in love', even though she did say "Why does everyone think I'm still in love with Spike?" I think there's definitely friendship love and perhaps that IS what she meant when she told him, but I don't know if it can ever go beyond that because of Angel. She continually says, even in the 7th season, "I loved him more than anything I will ever love in this life." I'm not trying to debate the Angel vs. Spike, where she is concerned, but I don't think anyone can know who she really fits better/loves more or less than Buffy herself (or Joss, as the writer *wink*).

Anyway, Anya's death was, obviously, depressing. We didn't see much of a reaction in Xander because we only got to see, what? Five minutes of post-battle. So, I'm sure once they had their little ditty at the end, he probably had much grieving time, as we later see in the comics.

And much love for Andrew, too!

major love for andrew "i have swimmers ear" love how he did turn out to be a true storyteller by telling xander a lie about anyas death
