Buffy and the vamps in her life...

As we're all aware, Buffy has had two main vamps in her life - Angel and Spike.

Angel she thought was true love;

Spike was, according to her, a stop-gap, a replacement for Angel - which I think is kind of cruel considering her last words to him "Chosen" - but hey, that's women for ya! {joking!!!!!}

So my question - Imagine if for some reason Buffy contracts an incurable disease or finds out that she's going to die (again) sometime in the very, very near future -- would you, as Buffy:

a) let nature take it's course
b) get either Spike or Angel to sire you
c) travel the world looking for a cure or a miracle
d) something else of your choosing

Me personally, I'd probably have to say B with Spike - not only because I'm a Spuffy fan at heart, but because I think the relationship with Angel had run it's course by the end of S7 - they're both adults, they've both moved on since the end of S3, and it may have dawned on Buffy right at the end of "Chosen" that she perhaps did love Spike and that being with him for the rest of time she'd have plenty of opportunity to prove it.

Although it's been a while since I watched Angel from start to finish completely, I don't remember him doing much in the bed-room department with Buffy during any of the 5 seasons that Angel ran for - though I do stand to be corrected on that if I'm wrong - which I probably am.

So, you're choice would be ??

Well, in defense of the Bangel relationship (and I really can't believe I'm doing that!) that "Angel loses his soul from one moment of perfect happiness" thing that pretty effectively keeps them apart.


As for Buffy having either of her vampire boyfriends sire her, that wouldn't really be her, as was said several times during the two series, it would be a demon inhabiting her body, having all of her memories, and being soul-less and evil. More likely, if she wanted an alternative to her terminal condition, she would get Willow to try something with magic. Barring that, I think that she would make the most of the time left her and face her fate with the same courage and fortitude that she faced everything else in her life.

I think she would let nature take its course then she would die and be back in heaven with her mom again. I dont think she would get angel or spike to sire her but i think spike would try to. After all of spike was to sire her they could live in their own little immortal world.

That's not really Buffy to let somebody sire her. Nor do I think Angel or Spike would want to do it.

She would probably just go on with life until she couldn't, then go out on her own terms. That's Buffy.

I'd definitely accept it and let the disease take it's course. Buffy, I think, would do the same in the end, but likely with a bit more rebelliousness beforehand than I would show. B) really wouldn't be an option, either for me or the Buffster herself.

Well, I don't think I could be me and Buffy at the same time. So if I was Buffy... well, I'd be Buffy. So I'd still do what I think Buffy would do. 😛

Given the two choices of dying with as much dignity as I could manage and having my memories perpetuated by having my resurrected dead body inhabited by a soulless demon who feeds on the blood of others and considers babies and small children a delicacy? I believe that I would choose the former. The price of immortality is just too high for me to pay.

Umm... I think Buffy would let it run its course and face it with courage and dignity, as previously stated above. I think that both vamp boys and, indeed, the entire scooby gang would band together to help her do it. I even think Angel and Spike might come to some sort of peaceful coexistence and/or resolution and possibly even bond over the idea of losing her again (and the secret, shameful relief they must feel in the idea of being free of the burden that she is on both of their hearts). I don't think either of them would sire her, either; they wouldn't want to create an abomination of the woman that they both loved. She wouldn't want it and neither would they. I also think poor Giles would drink himself into oblivion. If it were me as Buffy, well, I'd still be Buffy, so I'd still do the above.


Now if it were me? Timely question. Forget courage and dignity. I'd gladly eat a few babies and lose my soul for super strength and demonic vitality/immortality. I wouldn't so much care who sired me, but after seeing the way Spike cared for Dru, I think I'd rather go for that option.

I think that Buffy would under no circumstances let one of the two vamps in her life sire her. Remembr 'Lie to me', when she was talking about having a choice, even if it' a bad one?
I'd go for either c) or d). Well, I think maybe she would let somebody perform a spell on her. So is that c), cure, or d), something else now?
