Buffy/Angel Crossovers

I think that I read somewhere that Dark Horse would be able to use Angel and Spike in the Season 8 series because they had both at one time been members of the Buffy series cast. That would mean that they could also use both Cordy and Wes. But what are your thoughts on the other characters, exclusive to Angel's show? Shouldn't Joss, as the creator of them all, be able to use whoever he wants in the Buffy comics, including Gunn, Illyria, Connor, and the rest? Or do you think that IDW should have exclusive rights to the Angel series characters?

We'll never know the exact details of the deal that Joss made with IDW. From what I've read about it, they probably paid for rights to the characters for a certain amount of time. If that's the case, then, no, Joss won't be able to use them in Buffy until that contract is over, no matter how much we want to see them.
