Can anyone recommend any of the UK-published Buffy or Angel novels suitable for my holiday reading (not the "young adult" books tho')? I've already read "The Book of Four" and "The Lost Slayer" series and found them to be a pleasant change from my usual King and Clancy holiday reading. Spot the airport bookstore victim 🙂 (anyone remember the one in the Simpsons - "Just Crichton and King"?)

Also, I'm heading for the US - so when are the Buffy/Angel finales due to be shown there? Don't wanna get spoilered ...

Is "The Gatekeeper" series any good? That's one I noticed at our local Ottakars and the cover blurbs sounded good.
 
I did read them a while back. They were good.

Another one I just thought of is the Buffy/Angel crossover trilogy.I can't remember the name of them though. Sorry.

It's call the Unseen Trilogy. I have all three books. They are good.

In case anyone is interested, I ended up buying "Pretty maids in a row" and the "Unseen" trilogy.
 
There is an Angel novel that i do recommend. It's called "The Longest Night Vol.1" and it's a collection of short stories based on Angel Investigations by different authors. Basically each story is at each hour from 6pm-5am. It's a good introduction to Angel-verse if you've seen up to at least half way through season three Angel. "The Longest Night" is incidentally based around the longest night of the year, ie, the shortest day (December 21st) 🙂
 
The best Buffy book I've read is "Tempted Champions". It's about this vampire that used to be a slayer. It includes Angel and Spike naked, chained to his bed.
 
Chosen, the novelization of season seven. It's like 800 pages long and definitely one big spoiler if you haven't seen some of the episodes left, but it;s great. Okay, so I have't finished reading it yet. LOL. I just bought it Sunday. But whatI've read so far is really, really good.

The Evil That Men Do is really good, too. I'd reccomend The Book Of Fours, but you said you've already read it.
 
Well, I'm back - having successfully managed to avoid the final ep. I only managed to finish "Pretty maids in a row". Excellent book! Good recommendation guys 😀.

It made very interesting reading, given the events of Season 7. Foreshadowing the plot or what? I have one question though - are the books meant to be canonical or is there a bit of artistic licence involved? Specifically,

SPOILER - don't read the next bit if you don't want to spoil the book.













Spike killed the Danish Slayer (Sophie) which was not mentioned on the show in the ep which flashed back to his Slayer killings.(Sorry mods - I don't know how to do the "invisible" spoilers)
