Which quotes (if any) from either series do you find yourself saying during the day?
Have you ever come across a situation that causes you to give Willow's doodle quote? How about Xander's "bitca" quote? Or maybe a cute little Giles line?
 
I have used Willows doodle quote! That was fun to say and I got the wierdest look from the person I said it to!
 
With that list I can remember the ones I have used:

Reading thought that list, I'm kinda surprised about how much of my vocal is Buffy script (There's loads more) or how much is inspired by it!
 
I love trying to work in Buffyisms to conversation, though it's a little hard when mostly I speak swedish, but I try, and get strange looks from people.. heh. One that I have used before is when people ask if I need any help I answere: "I've got a system"
 
these are the ones on that list which ive used:

Words that end in 'age'

"i have my own fun"
and i constantly use "what the frilly heck" instead of 'what the f**k', 'what the hell', or just 'what the heck'.

some, like the monkey pants one, sound really weird and i dont know how i got them in, but things like 'what is your childhood trauma' isnt as hard to work in. sometimes even people who love buffy dont get them when i say them.

i know ive said more, but i probly wont remember unless someone else brings them up.

See its got to the point with some Buffyisms, and the fact NONE of my friends watch Buffy and Angel, that my friends don't give me the looks any more, they think its just who I am.

My fave has to be from Angel 'Ground State'
"What are you? Deficient?"
I find I say it all the time, but then again, its my fault for surrounding myself with these people.

I with the 'age' on the end of words. I know, its odd but its how I speak🙂

I think you will find that in most cases this way of speaking has evolved somewhat in that now I actually wouldn't say I Say Buffyisms, I speak in a Buffyish way. Its forming a sub-language in my (and others i'd wager - ANOTHER I use ALL the gosh darned time!!!!) English.
Although people understand what I am saying only certain people would truly understand why and where it came from.

I'm sure I use a lot more, but here's a couple I can think of:

"Bit of both" (Spike, AtS-5)

"And yet, somehow, I just can't seem to care." (Angel, AtS)

I find myself quoting Serenity/Firefly more.
 
I out -age on the end of a helluva lot of words. Also, for some weird reason, I write the word Gonna like this- Gunna. Heh. I use;

i remember that i said "damn straight" a couple of times, and my friend was like 'you got that from buffy, right? doesn't faith like to say that?'. and i told him that i think i'd heard it there (on buffy), but it wasnt just faith. i looked it up and found out that willow, gunn, fred, spike, and anya all had said it, and i couldnt even find if faith had. im not sure that's a buffyism, but its about a discussion about buffy/angel quotes.

"Yet, somehow I just can't seem to care"

"I don't have all the answers, don't even know most of the questions'

That's all I can think of right now but there are definitly more. It's funny none of my friends watch Buffy or Angel, but whenever I say something clever they all ask if I stole it from one of the shows.
 
i, like AJ, tend to use a buffyish form of speech derived from, but not necessarily using buffyisms. However, I do still use some buffyisms, which include, but certainly are not limited to:
"I've got your number ID boy."
"That's insane troll logic!"
"fire bad. tree pretty."
"Don't you have an elsewhere to be?"
"your mouth is open and sound is coming from it. This is never good."

What about sayings that would be inspried by the way the speak in the buffyverse? Do you fid that you'd say something inspired by BtVS? Like I said yesterday:
"I've been basking in the post-leaving cretness"

which mens I've been relaxing since the end of my exams, Anyone else got ones?
 
Well I hardly ever use direct lines from the show but I do find myself speaking "joss" if you will. Like changing nouns into verbs. Taking suitable... pausey type moments. Making sacastic state the obviose joke type things during innapropriate times.
That is the beauty of BTVS and particularly JossWhedons influance on pop culture. When a televion show changes the way you look at language in general it is a whole bunch of brilliant. I agree with the writers on the show that you couldn't help but be affected by the way Joss speaks, when devising a line for a particular character they would often think "what would joss say?"...
Pretty hunkey dorey eh (brw hunkey dorey? whats that sposed to mean anyway. I know a hunkey when I see him, but whats a dorey?)

me and my boyfriend always joke around and say quotes like :

Drusilla: It wreaks of DEATH!!
Cordelia: *whispers* I'm only alive when you're inside me.
and finally
Gunn's sister (cant think of her name): Say goodbye to everything you ever knew....

I guess we just quote those all the time because when they are said, its funny. like when gunn's sister says that she says it all gross and sexy, which is weird when its towards Gunn. And it's just so fun to quote Dru, since she's such a fruitcake.
