I was just thinking that Buffy gets mentioned a lot on other TV shows. I can't remember many specifically so maybe we can pool our memories and post them here.

A funny one I do remember was on Friends where Phoebe's sister Ursula is doing Adult movies and one of them is called "Bouffay the Vampire Layer".

Will & Grace

Jack was talking about how he loved Buffy to this guy and how much more he loved it now that Willow was a "lesbo". Will told Jack to stop talking about Buffy.

Just Shoot Me

Jack's wife came to Blush and reminsced with Finch about watching Buffy. She recounted the time Angel had the jar of fire or something like that.

In Neighbours (Australian soap) two characters were sitting talking about how couples meet on set, and she mentioned Freddy Prinze Jr and 'Buffy' - not Sarah but Buffy, the whole character association thing.

On Farscape, there was this unbeatable enemy they couldn't seem to kill, and the main charachter, John, says, "Kryptonite, a silver bullet, Buffy... What does it take to kill you?" LOL-I love that quote 🙂 Used to be in my sig back in my early days here at BB.

Also in Will & Grace jack mimes a series of things and Will gets confused and he "translates" saying something like "...and we'll watch Buffy."

Charmed has mentioned it, they were going to a cementary and Phoebe said "Where's Buffy when you need her?" and Leo said vampires had changed to a "whole other network" referring to the WB to UPN move.

In My Wife and Kids, Michael was arguing with another man, and the other man kept going lets go outside and Michael goes 'why you got Buffy out there'..
Ive heard more just cant remember them..

A couple of years back one of the characters in Eastenders (spit!) dressed up as Buffy for Hallowe'en.

Ok now that just spoils it! But I can imagine mini Den as Angel, all that hunky brooding 😀

def agree with the hunky brooding part. Mini Den should have his own show!

Really!? I didn't know that and I'm an avid Charmed watcher! Does anyone know what episode it is? :usa:

The episode was The Power of Two and the quote went like this:

Phoebe: "What was that?"
Prue: "Probably a zombie...or a vampire."
Phoebe: "Great. Where's Buffy when you need her?"

In a couple of books I've read there's been reference to Buffy as well. Off the top of my head I can't remember them all.

This isn't nessecarily a TV show, but I was watching Comedy Central Presents and some gay dude was doing stand-up, and he said something like, "And if I call him my boyfriend it sounds like we watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer together...which, by the way, is a really good show." I almost died. And the best part? The crowd went apesh-t. It was sweet.

I did see that Charmed episode and thought it was pretty cool, don't watch charmed regularly anymore so I just caught it by chance. It just shows the effect that the show has that it is appearing in other works.

There was a small reference to BtVS in Disney's House of Mouse! :teeth:

Hehe, it's cartoons!

This isn't really a TV reference, and I've told it before, so here it goes:

I was at the movies seeing Lord of the Rings (Part 1) and they were playing a trailer for Blade II. After the crunching punches, and requisite explosions faded from the screen, and it went black, a guy's voice from the back of the crowded theater said, "Buffy'd kick his ass!" The whole place broke up!

In this one show, The Venture Brothers (it teases the old hannah barbara cartoon Johnny Quest) on cartoon network's Adult Swim, There was this mad scientist who was having a garage sale and one of the shoppers there was looking through a magazine and proclaims "Oh, look its Buffy's own Sarah Michelle Gel-lar."

On another episode of Charmed the girls are watching a weather or news report and the reporter says that there is a tornado in Sunnydale. Can't remember which episode.

Jacklyn: I remember that quote from Farscape, wasn't it in the first episode as well when he found out he couldn't go back and said that he would miss Buffy?

I don't know anything about this, but I read this at the IMDb BtVS Board:

"I was listening to Howard Stern this morning; during the news they were talking about the projected Bush victory and the election of these new "moral" Senators. Howard said it's "like being on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. We're living on a Hellmouth." "
