Out of the big four, who's the best pure fighter? I think they're all roughly equal in terms of strength, but who would emerge the winner between the four of them?

I think it would be down-to-the-wire close, but my ranking would go like this:
1) Buffy
2) Spike
3) Angel
4) Faith

What do you guys think?

That's my picks exactly :)
Well if we ignore the Buffy show bias towards the star i'd say...

1st, Spike
2, Angel
3, Buffy
4, Faith

It hurts putting Faith last. :'(

You think Angel and Spike could both take Buffy? Hmm...I don't know.

I do, they are both Legendary, take away the 'star of the show' factor and I think our gal B would be out! I mean she always gets her but whooped the first time she fights most big bads, shes like batman that way.
1st Angel
2nd Buffy
3rd Faith
4th Spike

The first three are all pretty much 6/5 and pick 'em as the old gambling saying goes, but Spike has never struck me (pardon the pun) as a great fighter. More of a scrapper.

Hmmm.... I think overall, Buffy is the best fighter because she has trained and she mixes her fighting style up to include street and martial arts.

I'd have to say:
1. Buffy
2. Spike
3. Angel
4. Faith

I'll have to say Buffy is the best since well she's kicked all of their butts before. As ther rest it'll go as this...
1. Buffy
2. Angel (he's kicked Spike's and Faith's behind as well)
3. Spike?
4. Faith?
it's a toss for 3rd and 4th place. Their fight was close.

1. Buffy--beaten all of them pretty comprehensively before. Also has Slayer strength (which is more than vamp strength).
2. Spike-- beat Angel in Destiny. Perhaps they are equal in fighting, but Spike (as Angel said) wanted it more, meaning he had more conviction. And that's pretty powerful.
3. Angel-- seen him kick so much ass.
4. Faith-- can't really remember Faith vs Angel duels, but... She does have Slayer strength, though.

1. Buffy (you know, cause she's all mighty slayer with mighty powers. That's a giant advantage. Plus the experiences battling and defeating all those big bads.)
2/3. Spike (Legendary, killed two slayers)
2/3. Angel
4. Faith (although a slayer, she doesn't have the experience that Buffy went through; you know, all the training and practice with all the big bads.)

I'm at a crossroad with Spike and Angel. It's pretty hard for me to compare who fights the best so, I'll let them share their standings 😉

1. Buffy- Was gonna say Angel but she did kick his butt and Angelus who is the nastiest vampire, she has fought the impossible and has surived a lot.

2. Angel- Angel is an amazing fighter, he is so fast like Buffy, a lot of vampires are slow that I noticed but Angel was fast and a lot stronger and like others said he did win against Faith and Spike.

3. Faith- I love Faith's fighting it's amazing but her emotions take over her when she fights against Buffy and Angel cause she doesn't want to hurt them that's why she always looses but when she is happy vampires better beware she's a tough cookie, and when shes pissed be careful and walk away look at "This Years Girl" when the demon talks to her and she doesn't care and just kills him.

4. Spike- Spike was only good when it came to other demons and younger vampires he was amazing in season 3 and 4 but he became weak I thought I mean even puppet Angel won but I do love when he's William the bloody.

I've lost my memory...when did Angel beat Spike? Was it is in S2?
Early Seasons:

4. Faith
3. Spike
2. Angel
1. Buffy

Later seasons

4. Faith
3. Spike
2. Buffy
1. Angel

I put Angel over Buffy later on due to Angel's fighting style changing from street brawler to martial arts master with him pulling off moves Buffy would never be able to do (like jumping through a window onto a chopper while she could only stand around and watch)

I placed Faith behind Spike because while both are reckless when fighting Spike is a smarter fighter and he's able to keep his emotions under control better than her. Plus while everyone else was out fighting and getting better she was rotting in a cell.

I did not count Spike beating Angel in Destiny because Angel stated himself at the end of the episode he only lost because Spike wanted that cup more. His words are backed up later when he floors Spike in seconds in You're Welcome and when he beat Spike and the rest of his gang when they tried to kill him (shown by Lorne aiming for his heart with the cross bow) in the second last episode.

If the list were to go on i'd switch Illyria with Faith making her forth, with Faith being fifth and Connor being sixth. Unless i'm forgetting someone?

It would basically depend on what point in the show's chronology you are talking about. In Season 3, Faith and Buffy were pretty close to being equal in skill, and either Slayer could probably have taken either vampire, though not easily. Also at that time, Angel could take Spike easily, though that was more due to a lack of confidence on Spike's part than any superior skill on Angel's. Angel had spent a century intimidating William, and he did a very good job of it. So, by Season 3, the first time that all four characters existed:

1) Buffy
2) Faith
3) Angel
4) Spike

By the end of Season 7, Buffy's skills and experience had improved considerably, while Faith had been either in a coma or in prison, pretty much out of any real action for 4 years. Both Angel and Spike by that time have been growing in skill and experience, but, in addition, Buffy had been encouraging Spike, convincing him that he could be, and indeed WAS, a better man that he had previously believed, building his self confidence in a way that no one ever had before. During this time, Faith did beat Angel on his own show (though more by subterfuge than actual skill, injecting herself with vampire happy juice then letting him feed from her) but she couldn't beat Spike either of the two times that they fought (though it must be noted that they were interrupted before any conclusion either time) so by Season 7, the ranking would have shifted to this level:

1) Buffy
2) Spike
3) Faith
4) Angel

with Angel and Faith so near in skill that their relative ranking could go either way.

By the end of Season 5 of "Angel," Spike had not only managed to beat Angel, but he has also attained a skill level sufficient to hold his own against Illyria until she brings her time warp ability into play. In his own words, sparring with Illyria allows Spike to "sharpen up techniques that he didn't even know were rusty." By the end of Season 5:

1) Buffy
2) Spike
3) Faith
4) Angel

with Buffy and Spike having almost equal skill levels, so that neither one would be clearly superior at all times, and the same thing being true for Angel and Faith. (Granted, we see neither Buffy nor Faith during this season, so my assessment of their skill levels is based more on conjecture than actual knowledge, but I still feel that it is valid)

Season 8 and beyond would be anyone's guess, since we never actually see any sort of match up that would be indicative of improvement for any of the four characters. The fact that Angel was able to beat Spike in their one fight proves nothing, since Angel was possessed by Twilight at the time. Therefore, with no new evidence, or conjecture, to go on, I will say that the final ranking as of this time, remains:

1) Buffy
2) Spike
3) Faith
4) Angel

with Angel and Faith being too close to definitely tell.
