Do you ever take inspiration from Buffy? For anything? Is the show your muse for things? Does it help you with your ideas in your daily life?

Like for essays, for example, for costums, making up stuff, drawing, songs, etc. (those are only examples for what I mean). In inpiration I mean for things that aren't Buffy related. Buffy is only the helper to get those things done.

Yeah. Buffy motivates me to be strong. Every day of my life. I'm pretty much like . . . well this . . .this and this are all going wrong for me right now but hey! At least I'm not fighting demons on top of it.

And yeah, this show has been at times, my muse for drawing. Whenever I feel like I might be getting out of the drawing mood, I watch Buffy for a bit (or Angel or Firefly) and then I find something I want to draw. It's very awesome. 😀

Yeah, you mentioning essays made me remember one I wrote my Freshman year at college. We had free reign to do one in English class, and I ended up writing a five page comparison on Spike and Angel. Ended up with an A. I'd consider posting the thing somewhere on here, but I had it saved on a different computer that I no longer have access to, so I'm afraid it is lost to posterity.

For those that remember me back when I was posting here cronically they know that BTVS was a huge inspiration in my writing... that was mostly because at the time I was writing BTVS fan fic... all unfinished. But as I have since moved on into writing my own characters and novels, the show and a lot of Joss's works have been a huge influence on how I structure a story and write compelling characters. We are reaching the day when there is going to be a generation of artists and storytellers inspired by this show... if we haven't already reached that plateau (just look at the last season of LOST).

As a fanartist, I am always inspired by BtVS and Buffy herself in my art pieces. My Whedonverse collection of art is by far the most expansive that I have, and it only continues to grow.

It sounds silly as it's just a TV show, but it makes me feel stronger when I watch it. When I walk down a dark alley I'm not as scared as I would be usually, at uni last year it gave me the strength to leave my room which was a big thing for me at the time and it helped me take more risks.

The idea that a girl can be so independent in such a positive way is empowering and something that a lot of people need to look to sometimes.

As a silly thing, I got pierced my ears like SMG in Buffy - I had 6 holes, 3 in each ear, and copied her sometimes style of small hoops in the outer holes, and studs in the middle ones... circa season 2/3-ish.

As a more serious thing, I defintely have Buffy on the brain most of the time wondering, WWBD or how can I solve my problem or answer a question using the Buffyverse... it's comforting. It's also comforting to know that when life gets crazy and unpredictable, I can pop in a disc of Buffy and it will always be the same. Buffy always wins, and overcomes and survives, and that is very much a comfort.

I always say I wouldn't be who I am today if it wasn't for Buffy and I really think it's true. Falling in love with this TV-show changed me in so many ways. I think it was the first time I had something that was really just mine, I didn't start watching it because someone else did or something like that, it was just me and my choice and that really gave me a confidence that I hadn't had before. Also I wouldn't ever had gotten to know the person who these days is my sister!

I can't think of any examples from my own life at the moment. But recently I was talking to this guy I know online who I had pressured into watching Buffy and he told me that he was loving it. And also that, when he saw the episode where Buffy "comes out" to her mum in Becoming Part 1, he got inspired, and before Part 2 even started he went to find his parents and he came out of the closet himself, something which he'd been holding onto for ages. He thanked Buffy for that (and indirectly me). 😀

When I started college a few years ago I had recently had the buffy boxset for Xmas. I was working really hard doing a day at college and going straight to work 6 days a week so I used to watch a buffy episode in between college and work when I wanted to just chill out. I used to look forward to that as my reward for working so hard. I did the same when I started uni. I brought the Angel boxset and that was my reward when I had a little spare time. So I suppose you could say it's inspired me to keep working hard and it must of worked as I'm in my last year at uni now after almost 4 years of learning 🙂

Just a small thing, but one time when I was at University I was really nervous about having to do a presentation in front of a huge group of people. The night before I had happened to watch ''Prophecy Girl'', just because it was the next one up in my rewatch, so all that morning as I was waiting for my turn to present, I kept thinking ''If Buffy can go and face the Master like that, I can do this'', and it made me feel a lot more confident. It's something that sounds too silly to say to anyone I know in real life, but I know people here will get it.

Also, more generally (and I suppose a bit more seriously), I believe watching Buffy obsessively was a major factor in helping me lift myself out of a depressed rut I'd been in for many years.

Often I think WWBD! That hepls me in some situations(Unfortunately not in all). I often things about Buffy when I am in situations where she was once!
