This applies to Angel as well but 'Buffy Bashers' sounds better.

Do you know any people that think Buffy and Angel are crap just simply because they are Buffy and Angel. They have never watched the show or anything but are the kind of people that say "Buffy's crap, but I'd do 'er"

Theres a couple of people at a different forum I go to and theres a few of us that fight the cause but they never listen because they're right in their minds.
 
This applies to every guy I know, especially my friends. That is why I keep my little obsession a secret. Every time they hear anything about the show, they talk about how it is just a bunch of "girl power" crap, or that it is for Goths, but every time they see Sarah Michelle Gellar on a magazine cover they talk about how hot she is. When they are talking about the show, I sweat a lot and agree with their criticisms a little too readily. 😀
 
Yup i know tons of people like that..I've actually made some people watch the show and they turned out to like it so i mean sometimes you win like that.... I say at least watch the show before you have anything to say about it.
 
I always say "yeah? Alright, what's your favorite show?" I very rarely get an answer. They're always too embatassed. I then proceed to lecture them on the finer points of Buffy.
 
People who bash Buffy are most certainly one of the following:

1: Stupid

2: Someone who doesn't like good TV, movies, great characters or great stories (see #1).

3: Someone who prejudged the show based on the title, movie or both.

4: Someone who has seen less than 5 episodes in their lifetime or never seen any at all.


I got my best friend into both Buffy & Angel. He had this to say about Buffy when we first tried getting him to watch it, "I don't watch that stupid sh*t" & "Why do you watch that dumb crap?". Stuff like that. Eventually I got him to watch and now he likes both Buffy & Angel a lot.

I told him that I too prejudged the show before I had seen it and thought just like him. I told him watching a full season will change his mind. I didn't have the DVDs at the time, so we watched season 6. He really like it, so then I got the DVDs and now he just finished season 3.

I now have to tell him to NOT watch Buffy seasons 4, 5 & 7 on FX so we can watch them on DVD in order (without commercials and editing) on my theater screen.

He likes Angel even more than Buffy. If I can get my 20 year old ex football player best friend to watch Buffy/Angel, than I think some of you can somehow get your friends to watch the show.
 
My brother is like that... it's so annoying. I'm watching the show and he sits down and starts laughing and making fun of it really loudly. Sometimes he actually watches like five minutes before telling me I'm retarded for watching retarded crap.

I learned to ignore him though because he hates every TV show and every movie.
 
Most of my friends are like that.They have never seen the show but it must be jusy horrible and stupid...
 
not many of my friends watch the show but they dont bash it. well my dad ocasionaly does lol but thats only to annoy me and i think that he actually does like it hehe 😀.
 
My friend, Nicola...she's a Buffy-Basher, and its really annoying.
Mostly she hates Sarah Michelle Gellar, but thats only because she loves Freddie P. Jr, and SMG stole him from her apparently...lol...
 
Buffy Bashers shouldn't really comment on the show untill they have sat and watched an episode. Even if they still don't like at least then they would have a reason!
 
My nan is costantly screaming in my ear "Whats with all this Buffy stuff? It will give you nightmares or a heart attack (??) You should be watching shows about everyday life and it's Simplisity! Dont' even think about watching that Reality Tv stuff either!"

It bugs me. But I don;t think Buffy/Angel could give me a heart attack!
 
The truth:

70 percent of the population are filled with idiots who have horrible taste. Let's see in that 70 percent you have

A) Wrestling fans
B) Christians who only watch family entertainment because Buffy is satanic
c) Adults who like that reality TV show crap
D) Teens who go for what the current "fad" TV show is right now. Like O.C or One Tree Hill which are rip offs of shows that have come out before nothing new.
E) They are watching Buffy rip offs like Smallville and Charmed and don't even know that Buffy is the creators source material (I know Superman is smallvilles source material, but they rip alot of elements from Buffy off)

The problem with Buffy is that it goes over people's heads, it's a horror/action/comedy/drama with alot of shakespearian undertones. It's too much for some people, alot of people don't like to be challenged by their TV shows. Basically alot of people don't want to think while watching TV. They bash Buffy because they don't get it because they are not smart enough to get it. It's just jealousy really.

Like I said, look what the majority of people are watching, incredibly horribly written sitcoms or TV shows. Angel and Buffy are the smartest written shows on television, but people are too scared off by the whole demon thing or whatever. Like I said their just lame.
 
My best friend is christian, I dont think he'll have a problem watching Buffy but his parents might if they saw en episode. Maybe I could show him a non demonic episode like um... dunno. The Body? I want to show him OMWF because hes alwaysdancing and singing like they do. Although that being said, his parents didnt mind him watching the "Tribute Song" video.
 
Some fo my friends always ask me why I like such a stupid, retarded, crappy, dumb, you get the point, show...but they never saw it! GRR.....

LOL....hey, hey, take it light Hostile dude......not EVERYONE who is a wrestling fan is necessarily a tasteless idiot....I am a huge wrestling fan but I love the BUFFY and ANGEL shows.
I am a fan of that genre ANYWAY.....and I will always give that type of show a chance before making my negative comments.
I must admit, I really was hesitant to watch BUFFY when it first premiered, because I had seen the MOVIE and it was just terrible.....but I gave it a chance and was instantly hooked.

I too have friends who don't watch the show, but they don't bash it. In fact they don't watch ANYTHING on TV.....so they can't comment much.

By the way, I HATE reality shows.....can't stand Smallville.....and I come from a Catholic family that can't get enough of horror, action, and sci-fi programs.....lol.....
 
I cant really say that i have a rpoblem with people not liking Buffy, i mean sure it annoys me a little when they complain about it but their entitled to their own opinion arent they. just as long as they have actually seen the show and they know what its like then im fine with whether they like it or not.
 
Most of my friends think I'm crazy for being so obsessed and for generally just watching a show called Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Funny that all of these friends have one thing in common.........they have NEVER watched it!

But I do have a couple of friends that watch it but are not as obsessed as me. And another couple of friends who are 'closet' Buffy fans. They won't say they like Buffy but if it is one and one and you start talking about it they know just as much as you do. That is one thing I refuse to do, hide my obsession of Buffy!

My boyfriend doesn't like it. He says he's watched a couple of episodes and it's crap! He says he doesn't like "Angel" for the same reason and cos he's gay apparently.. But he's not watched it. He's seen about 10 mins of an episode of "Buffy" and no "Angel"! It's so annoying cos he likes "Smallville" for some reason but won't even give "Buffy"/"Angel" a try! ::nono::

My sister's boyfriend hates Angel cos we like it! He hasn't watched an episode in his life! He just likes to tease us by calling DB gay all the time! It annoys him sooo much when we decide to have an "Angel"-fest! :: vampire
 
My boyfriend "hates" buffy/angel but he has weird taste in TV anyways, although i have seen it on a few times and he claims to not have been watching the tv. My bestfriend claims to hate buffy BUT i showed her an episode of tru calling and she loved it, so this leads me to believe she never actually watched a full episode or just watched one that was not on of the best ones.
