Art classes will begin shortly, in the meantime please post below if you wish to take part and what level you are currently at i.e. Beginner, Intermediate, Expert and also what graphics programme you use.

I want to be art. I don't have a programme, but I can get one..so, I'd say I'm a beginner, yes 🙂
 
I'll sign up for it! I'm a beginner I would say. 🙂 and with Gimp.

Is there a level between beginner and Intermediate? 'Cuz that's what I am. And I use PS.
 
I have pondered this for awhile and decided I would join.

For the Mac I use Photoshop CS2 and Illustrator 10
For the PC I use Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver CS3's

I would say expert on Photoshop (as far as business design goes), upper-level of intermediate on Illustrator (though I like vector files more than raster, go figure!) InDesign intermediate (though expert on Quark but it's a dying program) pretty much a beginner in Flash, and I reckon I am really pretty good anymore with Dreamweaver (still have a copy of GoLive, but its a dead program as well). I would love to learn about 3D rendering (from anyone willing to teach a noob) as well as a developing a more artistic side of design.

I "run" my own graphic design business (though seemingly right now I only run it into the ground) and have designed websites for online casinos, and gold buyers as well as basic branding for local day spa and auto repair shop.

I have tons of templates ranging from flash banner ads, to full blown newspaper layouts (100's of web templates) and just about everything in-between.

Hook me up with the art school class please.. as I have neither art nor class.

I don't see why not - i'll have a word with the tutors as it will be them who will be running the classes so to speak.

For those that don't know what you need to join basically you need a graphics programme, the most people use are GIMP and PSP. I'm not an expert myself (in fact i'll be taking part in the beginners classes) so it may be that other programmes can be used.

The basis of this thread just now is so we can see how popular it will be and what levels people are at to see how we need to structure it - for instance should we have more levels other than the basic 3.

So currently we are a 'work in progress' as this will work better if we adapt it around the tutors and the participants.

Am I making sense or am I talking rubbish?
 
Oy va! I was thinking Pulp Fiction gimp.. not gimp gimp. Thats a BIG difference...
 
I'd like to sign up. I don't have any graphic programme at the moment, apart from the default Paint, but if someone can link me or recommend the best programme to use I could try get my hands on it! Also, I'm a beginner.

not sure if paint shop pro is free or not.. another one that is REALLY good is..http://www.xara.com/us/

I am just learning that but it's pretty good.. easier to pick-up than photoshop, but it is not free either.

But of course the industry standard is Photoshop..

Nope, each level will have a tutor who will assign the tutorials and answer any questions you have and give you help.

Any more questions can you please see my new thread. I want this thread to be a simple sign up thread that we can keep track of. I will delete any previous posts that are not 'sign up posts', nothing personal its just easier to keep track of things this way.
 
Brilliant, brilliant idea - I'm say a slightly experienced beginner (or beginner for short), I use Photoshop CS3 on a Mac.
 
I'm gonna sign up for Beginners PSP CS3 class please🙂

I may finally get my art on😀
