Sometimes when you see people suffering you have to do something about it, and even I, the cold-hearted Skanky am not immune to that. To wit, our tireless/some moderator @Taake is suffering and is too polite to mention it. Taake is suffering from lack of cultural awareness and humor as, it seems, they have still not yet witnessed the comedic masterpiece known as Scott Pilgrim vs the World.

In an effort to end their suffering I created this thread in hopes that others can band with me and justify the importance of watching this film. No one should have to suffer a life devoid of watching that movie, in essence devoid of all humor, mirth, and laughter.

Please join with me in as we stage an intervention in an attempt to educate our dear mod on what a quality movie, nay life, really is. So I asketh of you, dear member, why should Taake watch, enjoy and fall in love with Scott Pilgrim vs the World. In, I guess, 20 words or less.

I will start by saying the cast and cameos. Fantastic. insert chef's kiss emoji.

I've never seen it.
You are, as the professionals call it, just an enabler.... don't be an enabler.

We're here to help Taake get better, not encourage the spiral to continue.

Hey!

How important can it be? I never see anyone mention Scott Pilgrim vs the world as a must see movie… or at all!

Pfft, can’t even mention anyone in it.

So… overrated movie that’s probably totally skippable? I’d guess so. 20 words or less, overrated or not?

Oh wow, look at that. And since 2020 I haven’t heard of that movie again until now… makes me question that ”stone cold classic” bit

Oh you heard about it as you discussed it before. It's because of your disability that you forgot it about it. Too much brain power goes into making that wall cave drawings.

I am, as a 'professional' calls it, an enabler. I have never watched it and honestly have no intention of ever watching it.

And very good drawings they are too, really brighten up our cave

Ah, *basks in all this enabling*, now I can put all my focus on my cave drawing skills!

What are you lot on about, I have definitely heard of Scott Pilgrim vs The World.
It was at the end of the first paragraph on post #1.

I would say, if you like Buffy, you'll probably like Scott Pilgrim. At least, it's worth a watch.

Comics are better.

I've never seen it either, but I've put it on hold at the library on your recommendation. I hope you're happy! Though I'm not Taake, so maybe I don't count.

In these times it's understandable. Not everyone has the heart to watch movies pirately, dvds and streaming can cost a fortune.

Perhaps you would be kind enough to send her a copy of the movie.

I've seen it listed on Aubrey Plaza's filmography. (I'm assuming people here know who she is - rather shamefully I only discovered such a comedy genius a couple years ago).

But she's quite low in the cast list, so I'm guessing she doesn't have a massive part in it...

Of course I don't know who she is!
Audrey Plaza does appear in the film in a significant role. Frankly, the casting in this movie is perfect and uncanny.
