I couldn't find a General Topic area, so I hope I am posting this in the right spot.

I have never read any of the Books for Buffy or Angel. Are they the same as the TV shows or are they different? I always thought they were the same thing. Is there any kind of order to them or are they just "adventures"? Any one have the order they go in or a web site with them in order?

I've read quite a few of them, they range from being good to being just awful. some of the earlier books are like novel versions of particular episodes but most are completely new stories. They are NOT considered canon. Usually at the start of the book, with the publication deatails they say when they are set such as, "this story takes place in season six" so you can read them in any order because they are mostly independent stories (though there are a few trilogies such as the 'unseen' trilogy and the 'dark willow' trilogy. The best ones i've read are "Spike and Dru: Pretty maids all in a row" by Christopher Golden (though its published prior to Fool for love so Spike's back story is completely wrong, though its still quite a good read and includes some interesting stuff about Potential slayers), A Buffy-Angel crossover novel called 'Cursed' by Mel Odom which is all about Angel and Spike set during season six buffy and 'Blackout" by Keith DeCandido which is all about Niki Wood.
Get into reading the buffy/angel books by all accounts but just be prepared to be disappointed sometimes because IMO, most of the books i've read have been just horrid but others will probably disagree.

I agree with you,Tranquillity. Some are bad and some aren't. To me it just depends on who the arthur is whether or not that book is good.

Wat do u guys think of making a thread that had the books listed in it. We could list the name & auth, some basic info, and rate it from 1 to 5 stars or something?

there's already a section for Buffy and Angel novels. just go to your User CP where you can join the forums.

Here's the thread in the discussion group forum telling you all about them and some relevant information from the thread.
