Buffy can lead a normal life now... ?

You are absolutly right, Jules. I was, however, talking about the guys' problems with being with Buffy. And there we had - as I said - episodes where her strength was the issue with Angel (in Angel) and with Riley (in Buffy). But still, even though it's not directly your problem, if the person you love has a problem with you, I think that you would have one, too.

I agree that for her this was not the problem and I also agree with Rayne. I think neither of them (now including Spike) is right for her. She needs to find out, who she is as a person and not as the slayer.

I think that was the positive thing about that there are now more slayers than just one. She can have more time for herself finding out who she really is (by the way I really liked that cookie-dough metaphor).

But still, I think there are some problems which will remain for her because even though there are others now who are special as well, she still is among those few special women.
 
I just can't picture Buffy as a normal girl working in an office...For me she'll always be THE Slayer..
 
I have this mental image of grannies fighting vampires now!

Anyway, Buffy will still remain her slayer instincts, if she sees a vampire she'll dust it, but she wont go out nightly to dust them.

In Chosen, in the last shot, Willow said something like "There are hundreds of them Buffy, Slayers. I can feel them." If she can feel them can't she telepathically contact them and get in touch with them, telling them how they should handle their power and contact her if they need help or something?
 
Angel and Spike never had a problem with Buffys streangth, because they basically match her.

Riley-was very old school probably if he had his own little perfect world Buffy would be the kind of wife that stays home all day and takes care of all the children.

Xander doesnt really have a problem with Buffys streangth but in Highschool(he was the one who got mad at Buffy for defending him) he didnt want to be looked at as a wimp and always have Buffy there to save him.

Buffy could try to lead a normal life but just becaue there are more slayers out there doesnt mean anything, Slaying is just part of Buffys world and its something she cant get away from.

Just go back to Season1 to I Robot You Jane(whatever its called) at the end the scoobies talk about their love lives and they are right:

Buffy: It doesn't say anything about you.

Willow: I mean, I thought I was really falling...

Buffy: (interrupts) Hey, did you forget? The one boy I've had the hots
for since I've moved here turned out to be a vampire.

Xander: Right, and the teacher I had a crush on? Giant praying mantis?
(goofy smile)

Willow: That's true. (smiles)

Xander: Yeah, that's life on the Hellmouth.

Buffy: Let's face it: none of us are ever gonna have a happy, normal
relationship.

Xander: We're doomed!

Willow: Yeah!

They all laugh. Their laughter quickly becomes nervous and stops. Only
the fountain can be heard as they each consider their plight.

Buffy will always be a slayer and i dont see how she could possibly live a normal life knowing everything she does...how could she just stop slaying when its a part of who she is...
 
I don't know if any of you have read Joss' comic Fray, but in it
it is suggested that Buffy (when she is still relatively young) finally banishes all forms of supernatural evil on earth back down to Hell... only she is taken with them. Melaka Fray is the new Slayer, some hundred years in the future; the first one since possibly!Buffy's demise. Therefore I guess she wouldn't have had a normal life after "Chosen"!

Urkonn: "What we know is this -- there was a battle. A slayer, possibly with some mystical allies, faced an apocalyptic army of demons. And when it was done... they were all gone. All demons, all magicks, banished from this earthly dimension."
 
This Year's Girl, though we can assume they were talking about Buffy, it is never actually said to be Buffy and hers.
