Just read on starfury, confirming what we've all been thinking.

Joss Whedon has announced that Buffy will end after the seventh season, as he feels the show has come full circle and Sarah Michelle Gellar and Alyson Hannigan are expressing desires to move on.

still trying to find back up for this though. Also still reeling from the glenn quinn shocker; can't believe that at all.

speechless

😱 😱 😱 😱 😱

Is this really it? ... We need more info, where did you find this, did the article say more, will Angel continue, will there be a spin-off, will Ripper still start?

Question galore, Allycat!

We heard this in another thread, but nobody knew if it was for sure or not; guess we know now...🙁 You know, it being December and all, I'd figure everything would get a little better. Little more cheer, little more good news. But turns out this is month has been a real downer. I'm feeling guilty for even smiling now. First Buffy being cancelled (that was inevitable, though), but hearing about Glenn was just topping it off with the sadness-factor here. This week has just been a paradigm of bad news.

I kinda figured that it would end after this season. Its been a long good 7 years and its better that it end on a high note 🙂

Ok, but I'm still not a 100% buying this, I've heard from an unreliable source (nothing personal Willow, but you've never given other news before). It has only been posted once, okay it has been done some times before, but all were confirmed false. So I'm still waiting for back-up confirmations.

I can't believe it...this was the best show I've ever seen in my whole life...it was funny, dramatic, heartbreaking and a lot of action....🙁 I'm really going to miss it...

I just got word from one of my sources that they haven't decided yet and they won't until Jan or Feb.

I'll try to find the article.

I'm so confused, but if it is the end I think that is has been a good show (my fav) but it has come full circle, and if they go out it should be with a bang!

I dunno about anyone else, but for a while I knew Buffy probably was not going to continue with an 8th season. So if it does'nt and these sources are correct, then its not so much of a shock is it? The show had a great 7 years and I'm pretty sure we'll have Angel left and maybe even some kind of a spinoff. Joss isn't done yet.

Well, if it does end, it's been a superb seven year run of the show. And if it continues after this year, I'm all for it, as long as it doesn't turn out like the X-Files and their "supposed to end at 7 seasons, let's drag it on more" thing.

I haven't heard anything from "Aint it Cool News" yet...and Harry tends to be very accurate and up to date on stuff..I mean he did manage to see a rough cut of "Attack of the Clones" before anyone else, so I believe that he has all the necessary contacts...And there is a difference between being cancelled(meaning the network killed it) and being the series finale(meaning the producers, writers, stars decided to end it). Though as long as the writing stays top notched, I wouldn't mind seeing a snip-off series(ie...Dawn or Faith). The problem that I see is that there is just too much Spike/Buffy stuff, and that's bringing it down.)

Yeah! Where's the article? There's no actual details or any quotes by the actors saying "Bon voyage!" It's all too vague. Aint it Cool News, Wanda from Eonline news, tvguide, nor starfury have announced anything about Buffy being cancelled yet. If the show was definitely going to end, I'm sure Joss Whedon would've plenty to write about, plus, everyone would know about it. What about the future of the actors and Angel on the WB? I just don't buy it.

When I was over there they were saying it'd be that last season, and to be honest I hope it is. I don't want the show to drag on and get tired like the X-Files did.

But this show is way better than the X-files, sorry Mully, sorry Sculder! ... With Joss' genius it doesn't have to be a drag, anyway, no word from any of my sources yet either, so I'm not buying it yet, the last thing I heard was that they would postpone it till May, if they weren't absolutly sure!

yeah it is better than the x-files but it doesn't mean it can't go bad and end up really boring. How long can it last and be really good and keep everyone interested? Not forever.

Sure it can, I hereby declare, that as long as Buffy or Angel or any of their spin-offs will exist, I will watch them! ... See that wasn't so hard, anybody want to join me?

Okay, first of all, it's not cancelled, the show's just ending. I'm both very happy and very sad at this while I'm very happy the show will end with Dignity, and on Top of that one of the strongest season's yet, I'm still sad that at the end of the season, we can never look forward to a new Buffy, 🙁 sigh.

Not since you joined up I haven't, what with being busy with university and all, but I certainly had my sources before. I'll repeat what I said in my first post, that I had seen it stated on starfury (which I've usually found to be fairly reliable) but hadn't been able to find anythign to back it up. Simply thought others might like to be informed.

It's still unconfirmed at this moment, as Willow said, she hadn't found anything to back it up.

But still, Buffy ending after seven years. That's still amazing. The show has had an amazing run, and if ends this year, it'll be going out on a good note!
