#2. This doesn't even look like Xander, but damn, I love Jo Chen's covers...

Oh, Arcane, you beat me. Xander almost looks like Billie Joe from Green Day or something..

I've seen a number of people say that it doesn't look like Xander and I'm quite surprised. Looks just like him to me. A little cartoony perhaps (no more than Buffy though) but definately Xander.

It's something about the roundness of the face, or the "eyes", dunno. But I don't care, it looks awesome to me...artistic license is allowed with greatness..

Oh what the heck. Let's have a look at it right here.

I love that cover, Buffy looks awesome! Gawd, I so can't wait for March!

I'm with the "doesn't look like Xander to me" camp.....but that's cool. I can tell who it is from the eye patch.

I love the cover. It looks a little like Xander but they just made him look to badass which isnt Xander but im fine with that, they stated that they wont be trying to draw them to look exactly like the actors.

Yeah I saw that, it's bloody cool! It looks fantastic!

I was in a Comic shop today and asked the guy if Comics were released in america as in Europe, cuz I didn't know, apparently there released a day later, comics come out on a wednesday in America and Thursday in Europe (so we can expect Buffy season 8 on Thursday 8th of March).

But He asked me what comic I was waiting for, and I tolf him The buffy one. And he said that he's been getting like 15 people a day asking him about it, wanting to know when it's out (Which is cool, concidering how many people in Ireland wouldn't actually know there is such thing a shop dedicated to selling comics!!) But as the people that come in there are regulars, and most of the questions have been from people that just walk in, he's started asking them if they know it's a comic, and people didn't they thought it was an actual continuation of the series straight to DVD! People are slow, lol.

Very cool wall, ah. I really can't wait... I preordered the first issue a few weeks ago, or like, went to the comics place and told them I wanted to subscribe to it through them.. apparently a lot of people do, even here in Sweden 🙂

You guys are starting to get me a little freaked. I'd planned to just saunter into the comic shop around early March, and pick up a copy, but if people are preordering them all over the place, maybe I should do that too.

Wouldn't it suck to get shut out?

I'm ordering mine from an eBay seller I bought my AB comics from. He says he'll be taking preorders in Feb. for them....
damn, i'm gonna have to get into town early that day. unfortunatly, here in Belfast, the one and only comic store that i know of is a bus ride away, and they won't let you subscribe to comics unless you subscribe to 5 or more...i just don't read that many comics! lol
i'll just try to dodge the rush!

My local comic shop said they were only going to have about 5 to 10 copies - so if I wanted to be guaranteed one, I would have to subscribe, that way they'd pull one for me each month. Although, now that Whedon is going to be writing Runaways there may be more interest in all his comic work.

Definitely would. But I don't know how it works where you are, all I know is that here they don't import that many issues unless people have have preordered them, so, getting the BtVS comic without preordering would be pretty much impossible..

I guess there are gonna be 2 different covers of issue #1? I ordered both from Westfield Comics in Wisconsin. Apparently Georges Jeanty is doing the alternate. Just hope they don't arrive super late.

It's been a long time since I've bought a monthly comic. In recent years I've been a trade paperback only reader. Easier to look after and also usually cheaper than buying the seperate issues. In this case though I'll be getting the monthly issues and most likely getting the trades later as well. Gotta help Joss make the sales look good, then there is more chance of seeing season 9! 😀

Lyri, I never knew you were from Belfast! Don't know why but I had you living over in the States. ::huh1::

Hehe, funny you should say that. As proud as I am to be English (y'know, except when Jade Goody is making us all look like gobby chavs 😀) I've always had a place in my heart for the States. Still haven't had the chance to get over there yet though.

You busy next weekend? Fancy a quick trip to the good old U.S. of A.? 😉

i'm there. lol
Hopeful Caution

I will definitely buy the first issue (in fact, I;ve already pre-ordered it), but I'm not going to commit much more than that to it before I've seen just what it's gonna be. From what I've read and seen so far, Whedon seems to be taking the story into an almost science fiction direction, looking like "Buffy Meets James Bond." While I have no real ojection to easing the Slayers into the Twentyfirst Century, a sudden jump from stakes to assault rifles just seems like too much too soon. Remember what Maggie walsh said when first meeting Buffy? "We use state of the art weaponry while you stab them with a sharp stick." Well, I happen to LIKE the sharp stick concept. Would you rather see Buffy, Faith, and the new Slayers fighting the bad guys head to head, or standing back and inci nerating a whole nest of vamps with a flame thrower? More efficient, maybe, but hardly as true to the Buffy image (Okay, she used a rocket launcher once, and tried to use it again on Robin Wood, but those were isolated instances).
