Here's an interesting article:

Word that Buffy the Vampire Slayer may get a stake in the heart at the end of the season could turn out to be good news for sister series Angel. Joss Whedon "” the creator/exec producer of both shows "” tells TV Guide Online that if Buffy ends its seven-year run in the spring, it's "very possible" some of the show's MVPs could make a permanent jump to Angel.

"I think it would be cool," says Whedon. "It's sort of exciting, because you have this universe and all these people and all of their juxtapositions. It's interesting "” to me anyway. But until I know what's happening with Buffy "” and Angel "” I don't know who will go where."

The mere fact that Whedon's even looking ahead to a fifth season of Angel is rather remarkable in and of itself considering how bloody bad the spinoff's prospects looked just a few months ago. In May, the WB announced that it was banishing the critically acclaimed yet low rated show to Sundays "” historically the network's worst-performing night of the week. Just days later, the series's beloved co-creator and exec producer David Greenwalt defected to ABC to work on the midseason drama Miracles. And to make matters even worse, Greenwalt's replacement "” writer-producer David Simkins "” himself stepped down in August.

But a funny thing happened when all the dust settled: Angel is more than holding its own in the Nielsens, and creatively, it's stronger than ever. Even Whedon "” who, following the behind-the-scenes exodus promoted Tim Minear and Jeff Bell to exec producer ranks (alongside him) "” marvels at the turnaround. "I thought if there was one show of mine that's going to be in trouble [this year], it is Angel," he says. "But it's really kicking it out." "” Michael Ausiello

I have to admit,i'm not in love with the fact that buffy may end after season 7,but the thought of some of the main BTVS cast jumping ship to Angel in interesting, the only problem then is that not all the cast will be moving,so either a whole lot of them are going to die,or they're just going to leave permanently, which is upsetting considering the success of the series.

I don't know if it's a good idea to have the Buffy characters moving to Angel - as the cast of Angel is pretty well established now. Perhaps Willow would work as they all met her in the crossover at the end of Season 2, but anyone else - I'm not sure. Xander - I'm not sure about. But they are the characters I think should be kept. Any more and it's just too much. Dawn shouldn't join Angel as another whiny teen would be annoying. It would turn into a playground which Angel just isn't.

Willow would definitely work as a cast member but the others? Perhaps they could just have guest spots every so often. It would be nice if Spike came back as the bad guy again too. He was so funny last time!!

Sorry, no I'm not a mod, and not really bosy, but that doesn't change the fact, that what I say isn't in the board-rules. But I'll try to keep my tone down, okay?

That sounds really cool. If Buffy really does have to end, then going onto Angel would be the next best thing. I would rather see that happen that have a spin-off of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Well a Spin-off would be allright , yust depends on how they'll have it. I'd like it to be Willow- or Faith-centric!

I'd personnaly like to see Spike being transferred to "Ripper", Giles' Spinoff.

me too! and about you being bossy, i don't think you are...you're just trying to help out...i do the same when i can...bossy and helping are two diff things...keep up the user friendly work!

Thanx, anyway I don't think Eliza is going to clear up her movie schedule for BtVS, which is a shame, especially since it isn't going too well, and doing BtVS (or spin-off) would really raise her popularity!

I would have to agree Willow would definatly work on Angel perhaps Xander stopping in time from time I miss the banter between Angel and him .

We could also turn it around, wouldn't it be interesting for some Angel characters to go to Buffy?

Grrr! Arrgh! ... I should have taken another nickname, everywhere I go, it's either AllyCat or Alleycat or Alycat, really really annoying ... and no I'm not mad ... 😀 <- See still smiling!

But anyway Angel couldn't move, neither could Cordy .... I don't wanna talk about Connor, but Fred, Wes, Lorne or even Gunn could do great with the Scoobs.

Fred: Since BtVS is supposed to be focused on the girls, they could use a new science whiz, since Willow became the witch!
Wesley: Specially if he comes with Faith, he allready has a connection ... him and Buffy ... WOW! ... I just got a visual, looks good!
Lorne: Can everybody see him and Spike getting a little drunk and singing! ... lol ... I can!
Gunn: Just because Angel asks him, he could help 'em out, but nothing permanent, he's very loyal so that's probably why he would!

eventhough it would be ill to see the scooby gang in LA...it wouldn't match... Angel has a critical mass already that shouldn't be messed with...

i'd say...some guest starring roles would be appropriate but thats it...

ever since the start of angel...the show has had a different style than that of buffy which suits its characters...not the characters of buffy
