Hi

I am new to the buffy comics - well I have actually read one yet but obviously with season 8 being made to comic I will be getting it.

I wonder if there was anyway (i.e website etc) where I could get a guide to all the comics that have been brought out already as I wouldnt mind reading some especially Fray.

Any help would be great

I'll jump the line, and answer, because I have an opinion.

Bret Matthews is listed first on the cover, and everything I hear about it sounds more Matthews than Whedon. Isn't this the one where they say the gypsy curse was actually meant for a different vampire?

This is the way I figure it. Who wants to argue with Joss when he says Buffy 8 is canon? If Buffy 8 is, then Fray is. Tales of the Slayer, and Tales of the Vampires, I don't know. Real Border line other than the actual Joss stories. Long Night's Journey? Again, who knows?

The Dark Horse Buffys, and the IDW Angel and crew ones, I personally am prepared to argue no, they're not canon, on.

I noticed Omnibus while pre-ordering at Darkhorse, but I've read some Angel comics that are based after the tv show and they were interesting but sort of bland. Has anyone read Omnibus or other Buffy comics to tell us if they're any good?
 
Yeah, I think those Angel comics are pretty pointless. I got through a couple, but...blah...

I read Buffy: The Origin, or whatever it is. It's OK, but just generic comic book stuff mostly. Joss seems to imply that he considers it close enough to his vision to be considered canon.

Tales of the Slayers is pretty good, IMO. Tales of the Vampires is supposed to be similar, with some stories from Joss, other Buffy writers...

I think if you recognize a Buffy writer name in the credits, it stands a chance...
