Buffy coming to TeenNick

yay This is great 😀

As far as the teens/pre teens, I don't think buffy is that bad to be on TeenNick (I mean come on they know more about things than I did when I was their age. But then again maybe its cause I live under a rock lol)
 
I have one thing to say.

Winx Club and Buffy the Vampire Slayer are both starting on Nickelodeon next month.

I am in my Tabby Katherine Personal Heaven. And you are SO not allowed to go all Willow and resurrect me. 😛
 
I'm pretty excited Buffy is going to be on TeenNick, the next time I mention Buffy and my friend asks me what channel it's on, I'm gonna say 'It's going to be on TeenNick soon' Yes, probably some things would have to be skipped, but hey, I was watching Buffy when I was 7? 8? It was fine for me - I learned stuff. Though I'm going to be upset if they skip our beautiful Tillow, though I'm sure they won't if you've seen Degrassi...

Now with this I can get my buddies into Buffy if they know it's on a channel they see. My friend's and I sometimes watch iCarly, Drake and Josh, Victorious, and Zoey 101 on there 😛

And if they show BtVS, will they ever show Angel?
 
TeenNick has always had more mature themes though, right? I'd always thought Nickelodeon was the one aimed at kids and preteens and TeenNick was for, well, teens. 😉 I remember TeenNick had/has South of Nowhere, Degrassi, Instant Star...and a bunch of other shows. A lot of them still deal with sex, sexual orientation, violence, partying, etc. from time to time. It's really nothing we teenagers haven't seen before, to be honest. 😛

I don't have the TeenNick channel but now I wish I did! Dang it.

I thought that, but I guess not since Angel isn't really a teen show. Hopefully people who are introduced to Buffy through TeenNick will go and watch Angel though!
 
😱 Sweet! I despise Teenick after what they did to Degrassi and The N but this is most definitely a gooood thing. I am one who has yet to get any Buffy DVDs so yes this is very exciting for me. I really hope they don't edit anything out...That's really annoying. But the Spuffy stuff is what strikes me as inappropriate for kids (not me) who watch iCarly and that other stuff but ehh they make out on Degrassi, don't they? This is cool...Teenick is actually doing something right 😎

I hope they will watch Angel! It turned out a lot better for me than I thought it would. They'd understand Faith more, and see how Wesley, Cordy, and Angel evolve as characters. I mean honestly when Cordy disappeared after S3 I wasn't paying attention the first time and didn't know where she went xD

TeenNick + Buffy = Awesomeness
Awesomeness also = Angel

They must, they must run like mittens and watch Angel after they see Buffy!

Yep they have a lot of shows that are in your face with issues. I also remember The Best Years which seemed a lot older I loved it. South of Nowhere was a great show and it showcased a lesbian relationship and all that comes with it so I don't think Willow and Tara will be a problem 😛

Do you have to pay extra? I had to do that with my cable company.

Yeah, I have to pay extra. 🙁 I don't get LOGO either, which I'm pretty sure is the only other US channel that has BtVS. Oh well. Thank god for the internet! I'm glad it's coming to TeenNick anyway. I really hope it gets more people hooked on Buffy and Angel! Since most other channels don't show it anymore (Buffy used to be on FX, right?) it's harder to get into it. I had to go out of my way to find some episodes when I first watched Buffy.
 
We don't have TeenNick in Canada

I wonder if they're going to air Angel? That show is so great but never gets recognized because it's a spin-off 🙁

I highly doubt it, it's much darker & not about teens at all (although Cordelia is not any older than anybody else in BtVS season 4!). I have to say my initial reaction to this news was "Hey, what about Angel!". Buffy is on LOGO, Chiller, Oxygen, etc, and Angel is only on twice a day (early morning) on TNT.

A show doesn't need to be about Teens to be appeal to Teens...
 
I don't think Angel will air with Buffy. The tone of the show is much more mature, manly, and macho. It doesn't fit with the tone of TeenNick, which is younger and more feminine than Angel. They're both great shows... but Buffy is a teen show. It was about high school at the beginning... it was targeted to adolecents (at least at the beginning). Angel was never targeted at adolecents. Angel was, is, and will always be an adult show. Buffy, however, is more teen. That of course is not saying adults can't enjoy it because obviously you adults here do... but it just means at least part of it was targeted for a younger audience. And the feel of the show is much more right for Teen Nick. Not to mention, the themes of Angel aren't as relatedable to many teens as the themes of Buffy are...

That all being said, I hope that the kids who watch Buffy on Teen Nick will get currious and watch Angel too. I, personally, think to really understand the 'verse, you need to watch both shows.
 
Angel's like the only thing I watch in the morning xD I was just watching Five by Five.

I can't wait to dash to school and tell my pals my favorite show is coming to TeenNick

I see it sucks how cable companies do that.
They used to air Buffy on FX that is how I watched a majority of it back in the day before school. Then one day it was gone and Malcolm in the middle was there.
TNT seems to be the only channel that constantly shows Angel back to back it is like TBS with saved by the bell so that is a plus.

Really? That is so weird Degrassi is a Canadian show they should at least give you the channel it comes on. Wait don't you get a channel called much music or something like that? I forgot the name I heard it once.
 
Angel on Teenick just sounds a bit strange. Angel is very different from Buffy and I can't really see it on Teenick. But maybe they will come around to it..it doesn't seem that bad and there is not nearly as much sex scenes as Buffy. I don't think just because Angel is not set in a high school they won't show it..it seems lighter than Buffy when I think about it. Again that would be really cool of they show Angel 😎

we just finished season 1, so it's episode 1, season 2 tonight... there are definitely some mature and disturbing themes coming up... especially with angel/angelus... what makes a person "good"... levels of identity, what makes you, you...I anticipate a lot of good discussion.

I haven't seen angel yet, so I'll watch it and then decide if it's ok for them. I'm really late to the buffy party... I only watched all episodes for the first time recently... and my kids would laugh at how buffy obsessed I was... I have to say it's nice for me that they decided buffy is actually cool, even if mom does like it.

how old are your kids?

See this seems odd to me. Wesley kidnapping Angel's son because he thinks Angel will kill him isnt suitable for young people but Buffy and Spike having sex on the Bronze balcony, outside of the Doublemeat Palace, when she's invisible, etc as well as Briley sex in Where the Wild Things Are, Faith & Xander sex-ish (then her "dominance" actions) are acceptable?
