Buffy Costume Ideas.

Okay, I need ideas people. Of good Buffy themed costumes (Of any of the cast and characters, just costumes that would be recognisable), and how I could go about them. It can't be anything that would cost a lot of money though. 😛 But any ideas would be great. 😀
 
Pssh, not sure. There's a few of us needing different costume ideas, so we each probably want a different one. 😉

There could be the cast in different episodes, not in general.
 
Okay. I know you're in Britain, so I don't know if they have these, there, buuut.

Secondhand shops (used clothing) are great. Clothes for cheap. 😉 You can usually find leather or faux-leather jackets there for really good prices.

Jeans, leather pants, mini-skirts are also great. For a Tara costume, or even Willow, long skirts are great. Sweaters and peasant-y tops and screen-printed tees are great. Fuzzy sweaters are good, too. Tara's colours would be more subdued and pastel, Willow wears bolder colours... red, blue, purple, etc.

Boots are good for all the chicks.

For a Giles costume, a suit... preferably tweed.

For Faith and Buffy... more form-fitting tops, maybe camisoles or tank-tops, etc. Buffy tends to dress more feminine than Faith, so more flowy-ness with Buffy tops. 😉

Dawn would dress younger, keeping teenager in mind. Knowing Buffy being over-protective in her way, a conservative teenager. Jeans, a t-shirt, an argyle sweater like she wore once.

Xander wears a lot of t-shirts and over them a plaid flannel shirt un-buttoned. Again with the jeans.

Anya dresses more provocatively. Not slutty, but sexy. She'd wear sparkly shirts, or simple shirts that have ruffles, but are well-fitted, etc.

Spike would wear leather jacket, dark t-shirt, red or blue dress shirt over it.

Angel would wear a leather jacket and a dark long-sleeved sweater type shirt. His hair would be stuck up with gel.

How's that for a start?
 
I think yellow crayon covered most of it lol!

There were two things that popped into my head that i thought were quite funny,
1- Be anya when she was dressed as the bunny ( you might look at bit silly LOL!!)
2- Be Willow when she's at the bronze dressed as an eskimo (beats her casper outfit Lol!)

Try dressing up as Buffy from Graduation Day.

You know; red leather pants, white tank, black leather jacket, stake, blonde wig. Oh, and don't forget a necklace with a silver cross.

Or, if you're a guy, you could dress up as Spike as "Randy" from Tabula Rasa 🙂
 
I wouldn't dress as any of the normal, human characters, as that pretty much wouldn't look as though you were wearing a costume.

I think I would dress as Drusilla. A girly nightgown and some glamor makeup would do the trick, but the look would be out there enough that you'd probably appear to be someone other than you wearing your 90s clothes. You might also dress as Illyria, which would require blue hair mascara and lots of blue-tinted makeup. Dark Willow might work, too, as you'd pretty much just have to get some black clothes, some goth makeup, some black hair mascara, and a friend who can draw fake veins. The not-quite-human characters can be done cheaply as long as you have a decent makeup kit.

Alternatively, you could be someone who wore a uniform. Professor Walsh wore a lab coat. Sam wore black commando gear. You get the idea. Stuff like that should be easy to find in a consignment, uniform, or thrift shop.
 
Well, I dressed up as Dark Willow on Halloween, and all I did was wear dark clothes and draw veins all over my face using black eyeliner. So there's a very easy and cheap costume option if you have dark hair and are willing to spend around 10-15 minutes trying to get all the eyeliner off your face afterwards. Drusilla would be a lot of fun to dress up as, too...my friend dressed up as her and she looked great. You just have to get a gothic, old-timey dress and wear some dark makeup and you're good to go.
 
Yes, yes, accessories! A cross for Buffy and Faith, and a stake for each.

You could do a construction helmet for Xander.

For Tara... more oldish/ornate type jewelry, though smallish.

For Willow - choker necklaces, more "modern" type jewelery.

For some other "iconic" looks, check out their OMWF costumes:

Buffy - Red shirt + jeans + cross + leather jacket
Tara - Corset + long dress
Willow - wrap dress
Dawn - Sweater tank + exercise pants + funny medallion 😉

etc. 🙂
