Help Buffy Costume

My new found love for Buffy has inspired me to seek out a Buffy costume this year for Halloween. I'm thinking black leather pants (if I can find them at a reasonable price) with some sort of top. I've also been searching online to buy a stake, but can't really find one. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or knew where to look to get a stake. Thanks 🙂

I may sound like a crazy person but I whittled my own stake when I dressed up as Buffy for a party. It was awesomely hard work, but a whole lot of fun being all dressed up as Buffy (I went as Prophecy Girl Buffy) and sitting in the backyard with a beer whittling a stake.

Lol, I was actually thinking of doing that if I couldn't find one already made. Where did you get the wood?

I bought a dial rod at Lowe's or Home Depot or some place like that.

At risk of sounding like a bogan (redneck to you Americans) I found some wood in my backyard and used a carving knife and then some sand paper.

I feel so stupid..... When I went as Faith one year, I made my stake out of an old paper towel roll. LMFAO

Back before I was into Buffy a long time ago, I used to sit in my front yard with a knife and a stick. I would whittle and carve until I liked it, then pick up another stick. I did that for HOURS at a time. It was one of my favorite things to do... I haven't done it in a while, but I got to the point where I could make a pretty good smooth basic stake in a few hours... if I had sandpaper... I didn't always have sandpaper so some of them were kind of scratchy.

I have that dream all the time. Legit. I dream that this guy comes up to me one day and tells me I'm a potential slayer and explains to me the differences between the fiction of the show ans the real life slayers. I have elaborate differences too...

That's what I did lol. I wore black leather pants, dyed my hair blonde, wore my black leather 3/4 jacket and I don't remember what top underneath it. I also paraded about with my stake.

Nobody got it though.

You used to be able to buy stakes on tvmerch.com, but I just checked and didn't see them anymore. My god though, if I had $300 I'd buy the scythe and dye my hair blonde again for this Halloween. LOL! Ah well, there's always next year.
