Buffy ep by ep; BECOMING pt2

My favourite ever episode, it *always* makes me cry at the end. It's the fact that they play through the whole of 'close your eyes' during the last Buffy/Angel scene, and the 'Full of Grace' song at the end that really get me.

I also like the fact that, in this episode - and this episode alone, really - Buffy is forced to completely stand alone for a while. 'No friends, no weapons, no hope... take all that away and what's left?' and she still manages to kick ass and save the world. Her friends are all gone (as far she she knows), the love of her life is trying to kill her, she's been kicked out of school and her mother has thrown her out of her home all because of who and what she is. And she never gives up, never admits defeat. When she plunges Angel into Hell she doesn't even blink, she knows what she has to do, and it kills her to do it, but she sacrifices her heart and humanity to save the world.

And afterwards, she can't even go home or back to her friends. It's a little like her spirit followed Angel into Hell, and her body has to just go and get lost. And all of that, put together with epic music, makes me tear up every time.

If that doesn't make this the most epic episode ever, I don't know what can.
