Buffy ep by ep; DIRTY GIRLS (in fact, few dirtier!)

Nope, he finds all humans "dirty", although he is human himself, right? " There once was a woman, and she was foul, like all women, for Adam's rib was dirty - just like Adam himself - for what was he, but human"

I loved Caleb, but it might just be my Nathan Fillion fangirl crush!! Yes it does seem a little redundant having a misogynist villain, although technically neither Caleb nor Warren were the Big Bads of their respective seasons. Hmm, Warren, the misogynist, killed by a girl; Caleb, the misogynist, killed by a girl. I don't mind that. 😀
 
So, about Buffy's decision in this ep: yes, not her best decision. But I think that she's feeling desperate. This is the most menacing & personal Big Bad she's faced (well, besides Angelus anyway). The First is trying to take out the entire Slayer line, which leaves the Hellmouth undefended. It has appeared as people that the Scoobies love, & has attempted to manipulate them to hurt each other & themselves. She feels incredibly responsible for both the Potentials & the Scoobies.

Still, the deaths of Dianne & Molly, as well as the injuring of Shannon & Xander are hard to watch. I always turn my head when Caleb is maiming Xander (same in Same Time, Same Place when Gnarl is peeling off & eating Willow's skin- blech!).

I love Faith being back in Sunnydale. Yeah, I can see how the Faith/Spike interaction can get tedious, but the writers/producers were exploring them having their own show, so I can see why they did that.

And even in an episode as serious & heavy as this one, there were some seriously funny moments:
-Andrew's Vulcan/Volcanologist error
-Falcon Crest (teen of the '80s here!)
-Faith: [to Buffy] You're protecting vampires? Are you the bad slayer now? Am I the good slayer now?
Buffy: He's with me. He has a soul.
Faith: Oh, he's like Angel?
Spike: No!
Buffy: Sort of.
Spike: I am nothing like Angel.
Buffy: He fights on my side. Which is more than I can say for some of us.
Spike: Angel's dull as a table lamp! And we have very different coloring.

-Faith: Damn. I never knew you were that cool.
Buffy: Well, you always were a little slow.
Faith: I get that now.

-Spike: Giles had a plan to kill me for Buffy's sake.
Faith: Well, that makes me feel better about me. Worse about Giles. Little shakey about you.

-And even though Giles annoyed the hell out of me in this ep & the next:
Buffy: (on what Caleb might have) It could be a girl, trying to get to us!
Giles: It could be a stapler!
