Buffy ep by ep; SUPERSTAR; all hail Jonathan!

I enjoyed this episode a lot and found myself laughing. The first few minutes that I saw though I was like wtf? But I think it was a good add to the season. I was always a fan of Jonathon so that might be a reason to. He was so nerdy and cute it was hilarious to see him this way.

I wouldn't say this is my fav episode, and certainly not my fav one-shot/filler episode, but there were some funny lines. I love the Buffy/Anya interaction: "You're not going away. Why aren't you going away?.... Oh, buck up you! You kill the best! Go you! Kill, kill."

And I guess even in Jonathan's world sparks fly between Buffy & Spike- that was hot!

But my favorite line is when Giles tells Xander, "don't speak Latin in front of the books."

And the opening credits crack me up, with Jonathan included in everything. Buffy's "Jonathan" at the end was funny, I read there is a non-spoken line in the closed captioning where she says "Just kidding".

i didn't like this the first watch in ( I guess i was just wtf all the way through lol) but i just watched again and it is hilarious. And Jonathon's last scene is quite touching.

Very suspect that Giles has the swimsuit calendar under his desk blotter, but there are so many little jokes in this - it's wonderful.

I didn't like this episode, the only part I enjoyed was towards the end when Buffy realized something was wrong with the world. Jonathan is such a great character and at the end of this episode I felt even more bad for him because all he wanted was friends.

Which makes me wonder, if Buffy knows Jonathan has no friends, and she knows he doesn't do bad things on purpose, why does she never ask him to hang out with the Scoobies?

Wow, I really hated this episode until about 20-30 minutes when I got the joke. I thought it was brilliant! I did a little google search and learned about the credits, and when I watched it with my son I told him he had to watch the credits (we always skip them). He had this "What's up with this?" look, and then started laughing.

BTW, I guess Stand Alone is the term for this type of episode. My term (made it up myself) is "Monster of the Week." Sometimes SA/MOTW episode are fun, and this was one of them.

I always enjoy watching this episode, and the first time I saw it I was totally confused and worried that I had missed some episodes.

The demon that Jonathan created through his spell was lame though, to quote from Jane Espensons commentary this demon is supposed to be the worst of everything everybody's nightmare, and he can't even break through a wooden door. ok.

Best line:
Anya: "Buck up, you. You kill the best. Go you. Kill, kill."
Buffy: Actually not needing validation right now, but thank you."

There are not enough Buffy/Anya scenes on the show.
