Buffy ep by ep; WILD AT HEART (hankies ready!)

Ugh

As a new Buffy viewer, I have to say that the relationship I was rooting for the most was Oz and Willow. Even though there is a part of her that belongs with Xander, it is Oz that she is best with. That being said, this is the ep that has touched me the most, so far. Oz was my favorite character and now he's gone. Too bad. I'm still stoked to find out what happens, but it won't be the same. He was just such a cool guy on the show. I don't hate Veruca. It made sense. I do hate that Willow tells Oz that it was different when he found her with Xander. I think that comment sucks. It's funny how it's always different when you're on the other side. She did it to him and now he did it to her. Nothing different. Just sad that Oz is gone.

I am a new Buffy viewer also, however I have finished the series and from the looks of it you have not? I think you will be pleased with the whole Oz situation after you watch some more, there is closure in the coming episodes 🙂

I loved Willow and Oz they were probably my second fav couple aside from any of Buffys relationships, I loved both Spuffy & Bangel as well as Briley 🙂 but Willow and Oz were priceless together.
 
I just finished this on my re-watch. Oz makes me so angry. Buffy asked him straight up if he knew of another werewolf... and he lied to her. Veruca died and Willow got MORE than hurt because he couldn't tell the truth. What a tool. Oz is far from my favorite character... but I don't HATE him. When I watch this episode, I HATE him with a firey passion.

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen anyone write that about Oz.
I don't agree with his actions here though, but they more peeve me than they cause me to grow angry. 🙂
 
Oh, the hankies are because it's sad and not because... whatever.

I think this episode is alright but personally believe Oz deserved more of an event upon his leaving. I know he briefly returns but for dramatic impact I feel he should have died towards the end of season 4.
 
i hate that oz left. and i hate that he cheated on willow, but i feel they could have worked through it. i know he said about the wolf being inside him all the time but i feel it was more of an excuse to bail. and the thing with veruca came about so suddenly, i think i would have liked it to have had more backstory if it was going to end up causing the end of willow and oz. but still a good episode and i do think it's one of my favourites of s4

I agree, I felt it was a bit sudden. Loved the episode though, Alyson's acting is amazing in this.
