Based off of just slaying and physical fighting abilities, not personal character, emontional stability, personality or appearance or anythign, who was the best at slaying?

ez. Buffy. DUUUUUHHH. She was superior in all the other qualities and abilities as well, but I think she was stronger than Kendra and better trained as a fighter than Faith.

Buffy. She wasn't wooden or emotionless like Kendra, and she wasn't reckless like Faith. She had a perfect balance.

Kendra can go run into a pointy stick.😛 Actually, kind of hard to say between Buffy and Faith. Buffy is, well.....Buffy but Faith can kick some serious ass too. I usually always go for my girl B but something is telling me to say Faith! lol 😀

I picked Faith because I just think she kicked more ass than Buffy. But Buffy had other redeeming qualities that made her a better slayer, and a better person. But as far as just physical strength goes, Faith is better in my eyes.

It would be very difficult to say about Kendra, since we actually saw so little of her fighting technique. Buffy and Faith, during their time together in Season 3, were pretty closely matched, as was illustrated by their big fight after Angel was poisoned. Buffy had to use a knife to actually beat Faith. Maybe she could have beaten her eventually, but we'll never really know for sure. The next three years gave Buffy time to build her experience and perfect her technique, something that Faith, obviously, couldn't do in prison, so from that point through Season 7, Buffy was the superior fighter. Beyond that point, given the time to get back in practice, Faith may close the gap once more, provided that she ever sees any real action while babysitting Angel.

(What? Somebody was expecting a short answer from ME on a subject like this?)

Okay, short answer: Buffy's the best, simply because she is the central character in the series. Joss dictates it that way, and the writers write it that way. Sarah's stunt double can beat up Eliza's stunt double. Just as long as the script says she can.

I think that Faith was stronger, but Buffy was faster and more clever. So she was a better slayer.

Nothing against the two preceding slayers but Buffy is still number one in my books. Out of the three girls, she's essentially the only one who experienced being the one and only slayer. She didn't always have someone else to rely on to protect the world and I think that's one of the many things that made her stronger. Even in her earlier days on the job she always seemed to be able to "think outside the box" when she was cornered in a fight. And even though she showed a lot of attitude while taking on her opponents, she didn't let her emotions cloud her judgment to the extent that Faith did.

It's funny, out of the three she's the only one that I would consider to be THE Slayer. Faith and Kendra may have had the same job title, but I have personally never held them to the same caliber as Buffy.

I picked Faith. Mostly because I believe she has more strength than Buffy, as mentioned before, Buffy's smarts and tactics are mostly what win her the fight. I think if Faith thought more like Buffy she would be forced to be reckoned with.

Buffy has proven how strong she is, physically and emotionally. Both times she died, it was a sacrifice, not really during a fight. She has sacrificed herself for the world, even when she knew she would die, that's how well she does at slaying.

This isn't an argument with your post, just pointing out that both times that Buffy sacrificed her life were matters of circumstance and requirement, not design. Almost certainly either Faith or Kendra, in the same situation, would have done the same thing. Faith did, in fact, make the choice to sacrifice herself in order to defeat Angelus in Season 4 of his series. She knew the effects of the drug that she took in the dosage that she used, and would have died under normal conditions. And, it could be argued that Kendra sacrificed herself in the finale of Season 2 by giving Buffy her own special stake, which, if she had had in those final moments, could have saved her life.

Putting the mission above all else and placing themselves in harm's way to protect humanity from the vampires and demons si something that is ingrained into the Slayer's character, probably from birth. The fact that Buffy chose to die in the completion of her mission twice is more a question of being in the wrong place at the right time twice instead of once, but there is nothing to say that Faith, Kendra, Nikki, or any other Slayer if given the same conditions, wouldn't have done exactly the same thing.

Also, remember the words of General George S Patton: "Nobody ever won a war by dying for their country. They won the war by making the other dumb son of a b***h die for HIS country."
