Buffy Fan=Writer?

Here I was all smug and confident cause I've had a couple of mediocre stories published on the web, and all this time I've been surrounded by all this talent. I'm really impressed (not to mention humble, but then I've got a lot to be humble about)

I write, but I don't write a lot of fan fic. I'd love to write a novel. That's one of my dreams. I'm actually working on something now. It's called Eternal Night. It's about a girl, Violet, who falls in love with a very sexy and seductive vampire, Nic.

Buffy didn't really inspire me to write, I've been writing for a long time, but it did inspire me to write about vampires and the forbidden love between a vampire and a human.

When I was in elementary and jr high school I use to draw and write my own comics. I hit high school and got into creative writing there for a bit and wrote all sorts of stuff through out high school and the first of college. I quit writing for a while and just recently got back into it, last year, with a Buffy fanfic. Actually more of a Buffy/Angel/Bones fanfic. The idea for the story got into my head and it haunted me forever till I sat down one day and just started typing it out.

My writing could use A LOT of improvement and I really would like to take some more creative writing classes to freshen up, but I can say that Buffy has inspired me to write once more, no matter how crappy it is.

I don't think watching Buffy is what makes writers write, I think that shows like this and other genre shows naturally draw in people with a great imagination into a world you can inhabit with the mind hence so many writers and artists.

I would go out on a limb and say all the people who post art or fan fic here had it in them(be it good or bad) before the show, but places like this gave them somewhere to post.

So in essense, the show allowedd people to get it out but at the same time had nothing to do with the creative, imaginative ability already inside.
