If Spike is part Human somehow (the recent torturing him with water/drowning I thought was ODD, considering he is a fricken vampire. Also, someone mentioned some scenes where his reflection can be seen, but these may just be flubs), then maybe Buffy ends up getting pregnant and that's why she stops slaying and leaves the show or whatever.

I keep seeing people speculating with all these things, but no one mentions this possibility (wasn't Spike asking her at one point when they could rest, maybe he wants to settle down with her).

I also heard a rumor (from Ain't It Cool News) that Faith will die in the season (or series?) finale.

Anyways, why would Buffy stop slaying?
Either she dies, loses some limbs, or maybe gets pregnant.
Maybe in Angel, Angel kills the big bad there and becomes Human, and gets with Buffy, who knows.

I mean, Angel and Darla somehow had a kid, maybe Buffy and Spike could have one too, Spike is now supposedly a vampire with a soul as well.

HMMMM.

On Faith, it's an unconfirmed rumor, but doesn't really belong here, maybe use spoiler-tags.

Vampires are always half-human and half-demon. As we learned in "Hero".

what was up with the water torture? angel spent the summer under water... how could a few minutes bother spike? vampires dont need oxygen.... that part of the buffy mythology has been pretty clear. as a fantasy show you have an even higher obligation to stick to the mythos you create since we are already suspending disbelief. unless of course, as you postulated, spike is somehow physically altered now that he has his soul. but to me that doesnt make much sense either.... perhaps if Spike were the 1st vamp w/ a soul in the buffyverse, but again this part of the myth has already been established by Angel.

Confused,

PS- The finale doesnt neccessarily have to end w/ Buffy putting down the stake. Since her dying has already been overdone, maybe the ending should just imply that she continues slaying. Leaving things open to future possibilities and allowing us to imagine our own endings? I could see them at the bronze celebrating their victory over the 1st... "this is what... 6 or 7 apocolyspes now?" .. "7 i think"... "we're getting pretty good at them." "so what do you guys think is coming next year?" "giant alien bunnies bent on subjugating the planet." "hmm, could be.. havent seen that yet."

I always think it best that for a series finale the main character die in a heroic attempt to save the world. Buffy has died twice--let's try to keep her down for the count.

If they wanted to continue, they have three other Slayers to choose from (Faith and the two that lived last night.)

in the next few episodes the choice will become even bigger, because even more SITs are going to added to the list

Yeah, Giles said that there are only a handful of slayers left and that they're all headed to Sunnydale.

Although Angel spent the summer underwater, he was locked air-tight and water-tight inside the box. So it wasn't like he was drowning the entire summer. He was just going crazy because he was insane from hunger and fatigue. Spike on the other hand was trying to be drowned.

I would like to take a shot at rationalizing the Spike drowning thing.

Vampires can breath in the Buffy universe, they just don't have to. Spike smokes for instance. In general, vampires can talk. Both activities (smoking and speech) require breath. Also vampires don't have to breath, but we don't know whether or not physical exertion from a vampire requires added oxygen. I'm guessing, getting beat half to death, could be physically taxing.

As far as a Boffed Buffy goes. If there has to be a baby-Buff I'm hoping he or she looks up at Wood and calls him daddy.

Hey, there's a good question for a poll; What matchup would create the cutest offspring-- Angel/Buffy, Spike/Buffy, or Wood/Buffy?

principal wood the dad!?!?!OMG... i hope not... i don't like him... he's kinda creepin' it a bit... maybe it would be better like someone said for the show to end by us believing she continues her duties as slayer... I don't think she should die again... and I don't think she should get pregnant... also, i hope Faith doesn't die...

If she were to get pregnant (which I highly doubt), it wouldn't be from Spike or Angel. Joss has said there won't be anymore Buffy/Angel and Sarah said on The View that there won't be anymore Buffy/Spike.

ARG 😡 you doofus! USE SPOILER TAGS!!! I'm so pissed I just read that.

He should definatly have used spoiler tags. However I've heard the same rumors, but from an unreliable source, and some source, reliable, say she won't die, or at least have no clues to believe this so far. Ain't It Cool News has allready pulled back their conclusions ... so this might just stay a rumor ... who knows?

Something different on Faith:
Okay, she will die, but I was just confusing the ones, who don't want to be spoiled!

back to the topic:

What about Riley, he came back for a short while, maybe they took 'em off screen for a little intimite scene of which we only see the results ... in the form of a baby! Though I highly doubt it. I hope it's Wood!

Riley, but isn't he married?

He could have cheated, though I don't think he's the kind of man, who would do such a thing, but you never know.

One way to kill Buffy off this year -- and make it different from other years -- is to have it that no one can find the body.

That would leave it open for future guest appearances.

i don't like that either... but definitely don't like the thought that Mr. Wood gets her pregnant.... ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww....

Anyone ... Xander? ... the guy from Him? ... Andrew? ... or even better ... Clem!

correction

In response to nerd4hire:
No, vampires can't breathe, that was made clear in Prophesy Girl when Angel couldn't do cpr on Buffy because he didn't have any breath.
