Buffy Finds Marcie Again part 1

Buffy is in the library, sitting with her back to the books at the table when Giles handed her a letter. “There was an officer from the F.B.I. in the office, he gave a letter to the school secretary who gave it to me,” said Giles. Buffy looked at the envelope then at Giles, “What’s this?” She opened the envelope. “It is from one of those men from the F.B.I. who took Marcie.”

Buffy faced Giles, “They took her away with them so what could they possibly want from us now?” she asked. Giles shrugged his shoulders, “No idea,” he said. Buffy looked at the letter then up to Giles, “They sent me this letter to warn me, they think Marcie destroyed their facility and killed the people there twenty five in all.”

“Why are they warning you of that do they think it is your fault?” asked Willow. Buffy looked to Cordelia then Willow, “They think she might return here to finish what she started,” said Buffy. Giles pointed to the bottom of the letter, “What is this bit Buffy?” he asked. “It says the people were ripped apart as if attacked by a bear,” added Buffy.

Giles looked as though he was deep in thought. “I have never heard of a bear doing the bidding of a person, I can’t even think of anything similar,” said Giles. “I’ve no idea about bears yet I have read books with mentions of creatures who travel vast distances overnight on the three phases of the full moon,” said Willow.

“Do you mean human bears?” asked Giles. “Yes but these ones mentioned were different, they could change from a human form to an animal form on any night when they were shrouded in the reflected sunlight from the moon.” “Could it be they would only change when sunlight gets reflected from the moon or will something else cause it to be?” asked Cordelia.

“There is more to it than that, it is stated that the pull of the moon will cause the waters of the earth to vary, alter the tides that move on up the beaches all over the world. I wonder what the water would have to do with affecting the suns reflection on a person?” asked Giles. “More to the point, could a bucket of water help direct us to animal human creature?” asked Xander.

“If the water is to be kept in the bucket then I’d say no so it will mean that theory is a bust. If it was up to me though I would suggest pouring the water gently onto the ground,” said Willow. Buffy looked to Willow, “I am beginning to think you are both wrong bringing the water into the suggestion does seem like there are too many variables,” said Buffy.

Even after spending the evening looking at various books Giles was unable to find anything that was close. “Nothing!” he exalted, “Why am I unable to find anything?” asked Giles. Willow gripped the edge of the table and stretched forward to reach a book Giles had just been reading. “Well there is one possibility, it could be that we are wrong, just because everything has pointed to that there is nothing that states that what we saw was the right thing to assume.

The officers from the FBI did not say who or what destroyed the buildings or killed the people. It was when we began to talk about the moon that we had the assumption of bears is there any reason to doubt what we mentioned,” said Willow. “So what could it be?” asked Cordelia. “We are still trying to come to grip with what they saw,” said Buffy. The officer from the FBI stated that one of the FBI's officers had reported he had seen a long-haired animal over six feet tall.

The FBI officer took a deep breath, “And as far as I know there are no other animals that height,” said the FBI officer. “Normally that would be a yes if you were at any other high school, but not here, with the Hellmouth throwing up rays of doom that could affect anything,” said Buffy. “How about an animal like one of those Lycanthropes from the Underworld franchise one that tall would appear the same height as a bear and as big with masses of long fur, one that can be invisible,” said Willow questioning her sanity.

Giles looked at the FBI officer, “Do you have any objection to a few of us having a look at the buildings Marcie destroyed, there may be markings that might indicate what sort of creature we are looking for, it might help us to understand what we are looking for.” “And how we are to put a stop to it,” said Willow.

Buffy Finds Marcie Again part 2

Before taking the trip to see the destruction where Marcie had been taken Buffy took one last look at where Marcie had lived in the ceiling of the school. Upset that even someone who wasn’t a friend was forced to live like that Buffy searched for suggestions of anything that might relieve
the tale that she was in someway responsible for Marcie’s behavior.

At the FBI buildings that were the remains of where Marcie was taught Giles, Buffy and Willow sorted through the discarded broken rooms. Finding books that reminded her what was found in the ceiling Buffy knew she had found Marcie’s desk. In a diary was stated what room she was in
Finding the room Willow recognised several types of artifacts that she had read of.

Willow told Buffy and Giles about her finds, “Could it be possible that she was some type of a werewolf?” Doubting her understanding of what she said aloud, “an invisible werewolf?” Giles faced her then Buffy, “We know that the person Marcie was invisible yet there is no way we can assume that just because Marcie was then the werewolf was as well,” said Giles.

Buffy shook her head, “There is no way to say which way she was,” added Buffy. When Giles began to search through the remains of the classroom that he found the type of scratch-marks one would associate with a werewolf attack. “Could it be that the werewolf felt trapped by all the walls it was that which made the werewolf destroy everything?” asked Giles.

“That gives me the thought that the werewolf did not have the memory that the person has, which is probably a good thing or the people at the school, college or work place might have a cause for concern,” said Willow. “Does that explain why Marcie attacked her classmates or does it tell us an invisible person can see another invisible person,” said Giles.

“What we need to ask is was Marcie herself or had she turned to become a werewolf before the attack?” asked Buffy. “Just look at what is left of her classroom, I’d say Marcie had just changed and she kept attacking anything that moved. What I am more concerned about is did Marcie kill those she attacked or are there more werewolves in the area?” asked Willow.

The three of them looked at their surroundings. “That should be alright, as long as you are right those others,” said Buffy. “What we need ask is who would be most likely to make contact with Marcie, the FBI agents said nothing about her making any friends with any of the others in the class with her, so do we take the belief that Marcie didn’t care about who she killed.”

Taking care not to move the sections of walls about they began to walk away from the destruction. On the way back to Giles lived they could discuss their findings of the day. Not only had they discovered there might be several werewolves out there, that the werewolves could all be invisible, the redeeming feature was the others were from towns other than Sunnydale.

Giles hoped that the officers from FBI contacted him at some point soon so he could find out from them which towns the other classmates of Marcie came from, telling the officers of the FBI that they had started a minor plague of werewolves that could easily become the biggest ever out-break this country had ever known.

For many days and evenings Buffy, Willow and their friends read volumes of books they hoped might hide the possibility that the werewolves had a predator. Buffy hoped that Angel could help them but he said he was unsure of their existence Buffy glanced at Willow she did not hope for any help from them though Angel said he had never met nor heard of them.

Telling Giles what Angel had maintained Giles inferred he was not surprised. I have never read of any meeting of werewolf and vampire or even tales of werewolves. “I am not surprised given the nature of them who would be in a position to state anything about a werewolf. That would solely belong to a chance meeting with the human variant of one,” said Willow.

“So how will we know how to find where Marcie has been?” asked Buffy. “What and read the newspapers or the television news then when we have learnt how to track Marcie we need to wait until she leads us to another of them,” said Marcie. Giles hoped the FBI officers would be in contact with him before the attacks made the newspapers as that might make the FBI go quiet.

Buffy finds Marcie Again part 3

It was when they were getting bored of reading the books that they inferred about the schoolchildren who disappeared, Willow noticed a tabloid paper on the table, shrugging her shoulders she thought it might be a change from reading the newspapers that thought itself to be of so much self – importance. One article in the tabloid did seem to make kind sense to Willow,

the article inferred that the girl would have gone to the place it felt safe. Willow told Buffy about what the article stated, thinking of what was they took a trip to where Marcie had grown up. When they got there, it looked as though Marcie had been there but she had seen them coming and escaped from the house in a way that no one saw.

Searching each room of the house Buffy was amazed to find a trap-door hidden under the rug in the kitchen. Willow went out to the car to get two torches so they could see where they were going in the tunnel. It took just a few minutes to reach the end of the tunnel, opening the door they found themselves near their car.

“Well that was a waste of time, coming to the car to get the torches so we could see our way to find the walls along the tunnel to the barn that is near the car.” From the look of those tyre marks on the ground she had her car parked in the barn, Buffy and Willow got in their car and began to follow the tread patterns where the car had gone. “At last we will be able to catch up with her,” said Buffy. “Of course we will, as long as she stops for long enough,” stated Willow.

Buffy faced Willow, “Why say that?” Willow replied without taking her view off the track, “We are having to watch where the marks left by her car are but I bet she was driving as fast as she could,” said Willow. “Then go faster,” said Buffy. “Why, the last thing I want to do is get within sight of her as then it’ll be a race against each other,” stated Willow.

“Yes it seems as though you are right, doing that it is likely we would be in an accident,” said Buffy. Leaving the dusty track they turned onto a tarmac surface, “Following her is going to be fun from now,” said Willow. “I wish you could tell the future or which way Marcie had gone,” said Buffy. “Did you think I should be following Marcie, she is back at the house,” said Willow.

“She is where, why are we here,” said an astounded Buffy, she faced Willow then caught a glimpse of her smile. “Hey did you see that?” asked Buffy looking at something that flew over her head and back to behind the car. “What are you on about?” asked Willow. “Your sense of humour just flew over my head,” stated Buffy.

Willow began to grin, “Good job what I said was not wearing a woolen sweater.” Buffy though about what Willow had just said, “What’s that got to do with anything?” “I’d hate to pull the wool over your eyes,” stated Willow. They both silently grinned. As a crossroads junction came closer. “Come on Will, tell me the future, which way did she go?” asked Buffy.

“There is only two ways to predict the future of which way she will go the first way is to have the gift of prediction,” said Willow. “And the other way?” asked Buffy. “To fly to where her car is and put some sugar in the fuel tank,” said Willow. Buffy was amazed, “I didn’t know you could fly.” Oh I can’t but that is how to do it,” stated Willow.

Buffy grimaced then poked the tip of her tongue out to Willow and smiled. When they reached the crossroads Willow slowed the car, “Look out for any tyre mark to see if she changed direction at speed.” “Keep going straight,” stated Buffy. Going up a long slight incline they eventually reached the top. “Look there in the distance,”

Buffy pointed to a car near the top of the next hill. “What makes you think that is the car Marcie is driving?” asked Willow. “I’ve no idea if it is her car or not I’m just glad there is another car on this road, we might be going the right,” said Buffy. “Here, grab the steering wheel while I fly ahead to see if it is her,” stated Willow.

Buffy slowly shook her head and grimaced. “I’m sure we are not meant to be having fun,” said Buffy. “Oh, we are not having fun for our enjoyments sake, we are only having a laugh every now and then otherwise this trip could get decidedly boring else,” added Willow. Buffy pointed at the road ahead of them.

“Look at the roadside, they have stopped the car, you’d better slow down or they will see us,” said Buffy. Willow slowed the car down and moved onto the dusty road surface, she looked to the car through her binoculars. “The car is empty,” stated Willow. “Look for any footprints that lead away from the car,” suggested Buffy

Not seeing any footprints Willow carefully crept along hiding amongst the bushes at the roadside. Happily smiling she ran back to tell she had seen a line of footprints going away from the car, it appeared as those she knew we were following her as her footprints in the sand she had tried to keep them hidden. “So what do we do, follow her on foot, or in the car?” asked Buffy.

“Let her make the first move,” replied Willow.

Willow wandered about, she kept looking for other footprints in the area, she called Buffy to her side. “It seems as though Marcie and presumably a friend had taken off together.” Buffy signaled that they should follow the footprints. For several hours they followed where the prints lead though they only went as far as a dock by an estuary that led to the open ocean.

Trying to decide what to do Willow asked the Harbour Master if he knew what boat had been tied up at that area of the dock. The Harbour Master laughed, he said he was glad the launch had left, many people had boarded the vessel, he said he’d counted twenty six people on the launch. A party was going to be held to celebrate the owner of the launch having his thirtieth birthday.

The launch had returned the following morning and the people left to go ashore. Buffy and Willow went to where the launch was berthed but only the footprint for Marcie was found, no evidence of Marcie’s friend was found. Willow didn’t consider it likely that the friend had morphed at sea though she had no proof the friend hadn’t.

Buffy told Willow to look at the local paper, on the third page was an article of the body of a girl had washed up on a shore. Tracing where the tides would have been it seemed likely the girl on the beach night have come from the launch. Going to the morgue to see the girls body they found that the girl was missing a large amount of hair.

“I’ve seen that several times before about how a girls long hair had been caught in the propeller of one of the motors.” Willow looked at the scalp on the dead girls body and saw a large portion of it was missing, the hair on the scalp was pulled from there. “There is the answer Buffy Marcie’s friends hair caught in the propeller and she was dragged under deep into the water.”

Willow thought about what might have happened. “She might even have gone so quickly and quietly that no one would even have noticed. Marcie may have thought her friend had simply vanished, and thought nothing more of it.” Buffy was deep in thought, she wondered how they should tell Marcie about her friend.

Willow stated that the newspaper should be notified about the name of the girl on the beach and how she was thought to have gotten there. For the editors of the newspaper to display a picture of the girl in the hope that Marcie would be able to see where her friend had gone and how, Willow faced Buffy, “I hate to give Marcie the bad news of her friend like this but it will enable us to

follow her and then to keep an eye on where she is going,” said Buffy. Try as she did Willow had been unable to watch where Marcie was headed though she did follow her general direction. Buffy took position on the top of a hill and was able to watch Marcie who seemed to be heading towards a Saddlery. Though Buffy thought that Marcie would keep away from the roads.

Willow was able to keep and retain the directions that Buffy had given her, she also directed Marcie to follow the paths they had chosen for her to walk. On each of the road she led Marcie onto a path lower down and beside a river known that was reputed to flow in and out of hell. No matter what type of wood the launch Buffy held there was no way out of Sunnydale.

Buffy knew she needed someone who could read a persons mind someone who was preferably not a vampire. Willow said she had just made friends with a girl who knew more than what she should. Buffy shrugged her shoulders, “She can do everything a vampire can Buffy, though she is not one of them you will not know of her,” said Willow.

“What do you know about her?” asked Buffy. “There is not much to know about her that she knows about herself, even her name was given to her by the police at the station she was found at. But if you want her to read another’s mind, she can, don’t ask her much about herself as that would cause you heart palpitations, she is that weird.

“I asked here about her history but she replied she knew very little, I later discovered she was home taught. She told me that she taught herself how to improve her sense using magic. Now she has become able to see in the dark, her muscles can move her body faster than many others I know and this is what you want, she can read minds, she has said that she will teach me to improve my senses,” said Willow.

Buffy finds Marcie Again part 5

Buffy accepted that many people thought of her kind as creatures sent from Heaven that she could be likened to a werewolf though there were companions she had become friends with that were virtually superhuman, with eyesight that enabled her to see at night she was able to move her muscles at a far faster rate than most other creatures.

Willow thought of Marnie’s new friends having the use of telepathy, the mind control of telling others what to do, Willow looked to Buffy and to her confused nature. “What I don’t understand is how far the creature was able to spread its control of her, so Willow asked Giles if he knew the aspect that the werewolf could spread its nature into the human?”

Giles looked to Buffy, “Willow does have a point, the werewolf cannot speak to a human in a way that the human cannot understand,” said Giles. Buffy asked Willow if she could make a human understand what the werewolf said or if the werewolf could understand what the human could say. Though Willow felt sure there was something in that they were of the same.

After being told of Marnie’s situation and how she had been living Giles raised the subject of during the first weeks of when he first went to a university. He told Buffy of the how he began investigating a department of the Russian Secret Service that had been developing branches to search the capability of certain people to do and improve psychic ability in certain fields.

The greatest achievement had been achieved by two women who had the extreme capacity recorded in laboratory test conditions. Giles told Buffy that he had seen a report recording that the women could separate the yellow and white parts of a raw egg, even though they were situated in separate rooms.

Giles continued to explain to Buffy who had been joined by Willow that the American agency’s, the CIA and the FBI didn’t take that seriously until the nineteen seventies when they started the Stargate Project.) By that time many other countries had started to take the notion humankind could begin control of the powers of the mind, telepathy, mind control in all its various forms.

Willow asked if any advancements had been made in the field of mind control, all she knew of were mind reading, organizing, influencing and a form of brain washing. Buffy was distracted by Willow’s revelation, Buffy wanted to know if Willow had brainwashed anyone. Willow shrugged apologetically; she said she tried to brainwash Cordy then joked she couldn’t find one.

The Russian led the world finding people who mastered the arts of Astral Projection, advanced scrying and impressive amounts of telekinesis since the last years of the second World War. Britain and France had followed the Russians. Giles was embarrassed to admit that American hadn’t formed any official interest until early to late nineteen seventies then lost interest in ninety five.

British figures known as witches were spoken of in great honour as they were said to be responsible for causing the Luftwaffe to stop its attacks on the cities of England on the very same day that no Hurricanes or Spitfires were commissionable to defend England Scotland and Wales against the onslaught of the German air force.

Smiling, Giles admitted to Buffy that was why he had wanted to be an airman in the Royal Air Force as opposed to a greengrocer in the years after he had left school. Only to be told by his father he had been enrolled in the College of Watchers to be one who would continue the fight against evil, not that he knew what form the evil took back then.

In the decades since he had been in the front line for the fight against evil he had become aware of the gravest of ailments set to befall mankind, one such evil was the melding of groupings of demons that had escaped from Hell only to join in their wave of friendship against the most demonic of entities.

Buffy finds Marcie Again part 6

Willow ran into the house that she believed Buffy was resting in. She found Buffy at rest on an armchair, she was watching an old cartoon. Buffy looked up at Willow. “I am so fed up with all this talk of Satanic Cults I hoped watching an old cartoon would take my mind off it,” said Buffy. “Then I have bad news for you I met an old friend of Oz in a shop today,” said Willow.

Buffy looked to her friend, stood up then wandered to the kitchen to start making a hot drink. “What is it you have to tell me?” asked Buffy. “The old friend of Oz told me about a friend of hers who had been killed after being at a gig by held by a band who played covers of the music performed by Black Sabbath. The police reported her as the victim of the Satanic Cult.”

Not knowing what to do with what Willow had just said to her Giles spoke up. “Before I went to university I liked the new band known as Black Sabbath, mainly for their ability to have music that sounded pure evil with lyrics that often spoke of the love of God and how a person could feel better with the benefit of having found great love.

Many were the churches congregations that chastised those who listened to the loud rock music saying that they were the lovers of the Devil. Giles listened to one-time friends of Willow and Buffy. They who knew of people who had listened to loud rock music without losing their love for God, his son or the teachings of the bible.

It came to a head when Giles realized that one of the dead was the daughter of a couple of friends he knew. The daughter had been murdered by the reported satanic cult who frequented the heavy rock bands for future victims. Her parents told Giles she had only gone because of peer pressure and that the group sang songs of stopping the Devils music.

Buffy sat still and looked to the ceiling for many a minute. Willow noticed her and drew Giles’ attention to her, “What do you think she is so deep in thought about?” asked Willow. Smiling Giles said it was probably the lyrics of the songs that Black Sabbath song of. “She will be trying to remember all the words to their song Black Sabbath.

Willow faced Giles, “About the wooden church that was bounded by the large pond, about the path that led into and through the copse,” said Willow. Though the initial words were about strange figures with red eyes the latter lyrics always made great of the people being helped and saved by God, even when the figures in black became engulfed in flames.

“So the initial words were thought to be evil worshippers but I know that the words of many of Black Sabbath’s songs were in support of God and love,” added Willow. Buffy disagreed and spoke to Giles. Buffy expected Giles to agree with her but he agreed with what Willow said. “Even though that first song scared the crap out of a lot of people,” he said.

Many of whom those people were bible lovers but hearing words about figures in black Giles stated that much some of their lyrics were about the reverence to God and the power of love. So instead of countless new believers who would run scared of the audience of heavy rock bands some church members wanted to have their revenge when the story hit the press.

Buffy said, “There is a chance of it working in our favour of finding the correct church. When the other parishioners from the other churches find out there were no Satanic Cults just the lies spread by a certain churches congregation. Giles wanted to know which church all others were against and asked the girls to seek which church bore the brunt of discrimination.”

Such were the times that rock band performances were targeted by groups of parishioners who still vented their concerns of the fans of those rock bands. Willow and Buffy discovered that many who followed those bands did not even understand the meaning of the words being sung by many people went to church on any given Sunday.

Both Willow and Buffy were soon able to state with parishioners of which churches were responsible for endangering the lives of so many innocent people. Giles wanted there to be many connections with the awful creations who had perpetrated so many problems to be the haters of the church; soon his hopes would be founded.

Buffy finds Marcie Again part 7

A question that had never seemed important before began to take a prime location in the minds of Willow, Buffy and Giles. Leaving the initial search to Giles both Willow and Buffy concentrated their search in the books that Giles suggested. Buffy found her search was to be concentrated on the belief that vampires and werewolves were more of creation than evolution.

Not knowing whom by was the problem, Willow was asked by Giles to read books concerning the involvement of the Incubus and the Succubus. Willow was quite embarrassed by them as she had always considered the Incubus to be a sexual predator of the men and women while the Succubus was known as a sexual predator of women and men.

Buffy said she was unsure how the Incubus or the Succubus being sexual predators would have any bearing on werewolves or vampires. Buffy stated that she was been told by someone or other that the Incubus and the Succubus were lovers Willow agreed with her, more so that the Succubus was more of the kind to favour vampires.

Giles was amazed at what Willow suggested though upon reflection he started to agree with her, “It would make sense to me that the Incubus was more of the kind to promote the werewolf; the Incubus being a male and a demon. The tendencies of the succubus did seem to indicate the female attribute of a vampire biting (kissing) a victims neck.

Buffy faced Willow and they both looked at Giles, “So it does seem most appropriate of them that the male would create the werewolf,” Giles did agree with them, “But I do need much further direction by you as to how the vampire and the werewolf were first created.” Willow thought about what Giles’ comment was.

The Succubus could use her powers of psychic awareness to convert a human to be a demon who needed to drink the blood of an animal whether it was alive or dead. Buffy looked to Willow, “I have thought of this and I considered it to be truthful that the Succubus would impregnate the human to be a werewolf, though I have no idea how the Incubus could do that.”

Willow coughed then spluttered, “I know,” she said, “It follows on from what the Incubus does as a sexual predator. The Incubus implants the demon seed the same way to either a male or a female. Once the victim has had the demon seed implanted in its body it is only a matter of time before the change takes place and a new werewolf becomes a reality.

Given that how the Incubus can implant its demon seed to make a werewolf how would a vampire be created? Is it really done by the Succubus implanting a demon seed in a victim? Giles and Buffy both laughed to Willow, the thought of that seemed quite preposterous. Willow did not laugh with them, “Yes that is how a vampire is created.”

Willow faced Giles, “What you fail to know is the structure of a vampires fangs, there is a tube that runs from the inside tip of the bitey end into the gum of the Succubus. When she bites a victim its blood is sucked into her mouth, should the victim be wanted to be a vampire the Succubus will implant her own blood into the victim: hence a new vampire is born.”

“But I have seen many vampires get covered with blood after biting a victim, why?” asked Giles. “Simple really the vampire wants others to know just how much of an ordeal it is. It cuts down on the number of people who want to be a vampire, it preserves the right of a vampire to choose who he or she wants to make a new vampire be,” said Willow.

“So does that mean that only the Incubus can cause a new werewolf to be?” asked Giles. “Err yes, didn’t you know that. That is the main reason why there are so few werewolves on the world,” said Buffy. “But new vampires can be brought into being by any and all existing vampires,” said Giles. “That is only true if the fangs are true,” said Buffy.

“The only way that can be stated is by the Succubus, she has the right to decide what the victim is like. Sometimes she does get it wrong though and she becomes beside herself with grief, she found the cause of the vampire Angelus being created and had her succumb to her self belief. The Succubus also retrospectively followed the creation of Spike, both were left unknown.”
