Following the many reported cases where deaths were reported some of those being from air borne diseases that wiped out the worshippers from the Portuguese churches. Several groups of archaeologists took themselves to the area to conduct large earthworks beneath the church. Searching in the depths of the ruins under that one church where the archaeologists found a large obelisk a few levels below where the people would congregate.
The archaeologists discovered it had been placed under the church on purpose. It was due to it being of a different type of rock than that typical to the area. Discovering that the rock was not to make the congregation feel sick unless they should go there many times during a month. The archaeologist gave his findings to a medicinal research scientist who found the fumes from the obelisk should remove the feeling of death from any who continually breathed in its fumes.
What the population of people who worshipped in the church who had considered to be a message of hate from God, was quickly ended. Thinking they were wrong to remove the obelisk it was quickly discovered that the obelisk had been deliberately placed there to remove the hatred which was slowly being released from another large block several levels below the obelisk in an attempt to discover what the purpose of the other stone was.
The other archaeologists congregated in an effort to brush the loose gravel away. Several of those archaeologists cleared a message in a further ancient tongue. Unknown parchments were found with those writings that made them out to be blessings of hate from the Devil yet when blended with the Son of the Devils transcript of doom the words were discovered to be words of threat against all who worshipped God.
Discovering that the Son of and the Devil himself had caused the stone to be there. It caused major concern that the Devil had actually walked so close to the surface if the world, even more surprised were they that the Devil had wandered not far under the pulpit of a church. The room once considered to be placed there by God known as the catacombs became apparent as a place the Devil used to get near to Gods house.
The stone was sent to where new ground was being broken and where those who might understand the writings on the stone were placed. So the large boulder with Devils meanderings were sent to the new world to an area on the west coast near to the city of Angels. Though a massive typhoon blew the ship of course to near where the Devil had an escape from his home, where some would come to know as the Hellmouth.
For hundreds of years its location lay undisturbed until new groundworks enabled it to be placed in the laboratory of an archaeologist who called out for help. Luckily for him a person who was regarded as the eminent figure regarding that language was registered as being near. Being called to the laboratory the man wanted time to understand the writings on the stone though when he discovered what they meant.
He was loath to announce the message to those who worked in the laboratory. It was only an emissary of he who owned the stone, The Devil, could allow one to bring forth its true purpose and with that one to know how to bring forth the Devils will. To end and allow The Devil’s fragrance to permeate into every one of God’s houses. God had previously realised that to avoid the Devils plans there would need be a slayer at every Hellmouth.
God had one of his Goddesses work with Willow to create thousands of vampire slayers, for them to be all knowing about where the emissary of the Devil last was and then how to destroy him.
