Buffy Gay???

You didn't notice something between Fuffy or Batsu?

I remember in Nightmares, Xander didn't remember what the teacher was talking about the previous day despite the fact that he was used for a demonstration and to refresh his memory Buffy says, "She was wearing that tight sweater" and he is all "Oh! The midnight blue angora".

She said that in Nightmares not because she thought it was hot but because Xander would remember a hot teacher with a tight sweater.
I didn't notice any of the Fuffy subtext. Even that quote from The First as The Mayor in S7 where he tells Faith she always wanted Buffy to to love her; I think people tend to take things a little too literal sometimes. I always felt like Buffy/Faith had a sisterly dynamic and Faith wanted Buffy to finally appreciate her and care for her... like she wanted her approval, you know? But, that's just me.

As for Batsu, I only noticed the little things because I knew about it before I read it. I understand where Buffy was coming from, but it still felt a little out of place for her. Although a lot of stuff in S8 made me go 'uhm would he/she really do that?!' so yeah 😛

i have to agree with the sisterly bond... honestly, i really never noticed anything more.

The Nightmares scene was an example of a scene where I could imagine someone trying to find clues that she batted for both teams. ha ha

I can't believe you didn't see the subtext between Buffy & Faith. Every single scene between them was "defensiveness and weird mixed signals". The way that Spike would raise the sexual tension between them in S5 was similiar to Faith's actions in S3. The wistful look on Buffy's face after a conversation in Bad Girls, the heart on the window was such a "can you come out and play?" kind of vibe, Faith badgering Buffy about whether or not she boinked Xander because she boinked him, having sex with Wood in Buffy's bed, taking a bath in Buffy's body, the constant sex talk.

Yes, but most friendships don't center around sexual metaphors, talk of sex, shared sexual stories, and having sex in each other's bed or bodies. When you take the violence and sex out of the equation, Buffy/Faith was no Buffy/Willow.

Keep in mind that Buffy and Faith had a relationship that is not possible in reality, and hasn't even been done much in fiction. The two shared lifetimes of memories, and the two arguably had a single destiny meant for one. Their relationship is very unique.

Same can be said for Dawn who as Buffy pointed out is essentially her genetic clone.

I honestly think that would have been an interesting possible twist in the series. Its not soooo far fetched

Buffy and Faith perhaps?? They had some bad girl chemistry

What does everyone think??

I like the idea of Fuffy and Wuffy etc as do plenty of other people to judge by the slashfic. At least we have Satsu, dream come true for millions

Ah, not my dream. It's not just girl/girl action. It's the characters. I want to see only Buffy and Faith. I always pretend like it's Faith in Wolves At the Gate arc. 🙂

It's not extremely unusual for otherwise heterosexual individuals who find themselves in environments where there are few or no members of the opposite sex to engage a homosexual relationship for as long as they remain in that environment, as in a prison or an isolated Scottish castle inhabited by a hundred or so young girls and, apparently, one male who likes to wear an eye patch and dress like a World War 2 British commando. It's called "Situational Sex," and the person almost always reverts to their original sexual orientation at the first opportunity. Almost certainly, Buffy and Satsu weren't the only couple among the Slayers there in Scotland, and it's quite possible that, if the circumstances had been slightly different, primarily Xander, Val, Willow, Andrew, and Dawn busting in, and, of course, the vampire attack, not all combining to destroy the post coital moment, the affair might have continued for quite some time, possibly right up to the moment when Angel chose to make his appearance, or even longer.

Unlike Buffy's relationship with Spike in Season 6, which was something that she chose to conceal out of a sense of guilt, resulting in a series of, "Slam, bam, thank you ma'am" moments, she actually asked Satsu to stay the night with her, even going so far as to say that she hadn't done as much for Satsu as Satsu had done for her, and that she would blush, then smile, when remembering their time together the next day. Spike in Season 6 was something that she kept secret out of shame. Any kind of relationship that she might have shared with Satsu in Season 8 would have almost certainly, at least at first, been kept private simply because it wasn't any of anyone's business.
