What do you think when people say they ship them? I personally find it repulsive and don't understand why people would do that....

But this made me laugh which I'd like to show you. 😛

I've read a couple of fics that made it seem very natural and lovely. If it had been written the right way, it could have been sweet, but honestly, if Giles had ever hooked up with any of the Scoobies it should have been Anya. Tabula Rasa, anyone? 😉

Nope. To me, their relationship is just that of father and daughter. I never ship Giles with any of the younger Scoobies, because it's just too strange for me. Well, that one Anya kiss in Tabula Rasa was okay, because it was just really funny. 😀

I read a lot of fanfiction and it's so hard to avoid the Biles stuff. It's truly revolting. I understand the reference, above, to some of being well written and almost believable, but I still can't abide the ship. I love the father-daughter relationship between them and the thought of them being intimate makes me almost physically ill.

This vid was great, though - really clever.
 
No no no no no no no no no.... It just creeps me out to think of them as a couple, why? Because they were like father and daughter not a couple. If he had not have been like a mentor & father figure it may be different but that's just my opinion.
 
Involving Buffy in any kind of intimate relationship with either Giles, Willow, or Xander has always seemed to me to be just a step removed from incest. They are a family. Giles "doing it" with any of them is like a father assaulting his daughter or son.
 
I'm OK with every ship out there - I just don't care, if it makes sense and the story/writing is good I will read it. Buffy/Giles makes a lot of sense and is still pretty sane, tame and innocent - Kennedy/Riley - now that's a hell of a pairing!

Buffy/Giles? Mainstream as far as shipping goes.

It really would be wrong for Biles...or..Guffy? to happen, but I did have a dream a couple of weeks ago that they got married. :O

I was thinking the other day though...that if in real life a school librarian hung around with a group of kids all the time, questions would start to be asked.

I did ship Gillow for a bit in S2 though... which a bunch of peeps consider nearly as incestuous. :blush:
 
Come to think of it, I did read a fan fiction once, on the sadly now defunct "Vampire's Kiss" web site, where Buffy and Giles had married and had a daughter. The author had the good taste, however, (thank God!) to have had Giles die before the story actually began, so that it could actually be a Spuffy story.
