My vote goes to Buffy keep and I shared allready on several Buffy fanpages on Facebook! 😀

Ultimate Fan Battle: Final Round
Finals

54.0% Supernatural
46.0% Buffy

I voted for her like a million times. 😀 Not to be Repeat-O Boy here, but if it wasn't for Buffy, Supernatural probably wouldn't even exist. I've watched some of Supernatural. Not my cup of tea, personally, but they've had some pretty good episodes. But as one person commented, Buffy had iconic episodes.

I love Supernatural but I prefer Buffy because of the iconic episodes.

It's now at:
56.7% Supernatural
43.3% Buffy

I voted Buffy, but like Vamp Jenny I'm a fan of both shows. I agree that without Buffy, Supernatural wouldnt have been given a chance and Buffy's the first series that I fell in love with, but I do love watching Supernatural, its the only TV show that's kept me interested without having some major kind of romantic love interest in it 🙂

I think SPN will win, but considering it's been about ten years since BtVS had aired, the fight is incredibly impressive. If BtVS and SPN were both at their peaks at the time of this poll, I think BtVS would win.

Can someone post this on the Slay Alive board?

I have voted for Buffy quite a few times now. I think that if the show was still being made and publicised regularly then Buffy would win hands down. For the majority of the general public it is probably a case of out of sight, out of mind.

I completely agree. The results arent looking good, no matter how many times I seem to vite 🙂

57.8% Supernatural
42.2% Buffy

This is so depressing. I didn't think SPN was even that good. It was so boring when I tried to watch it so I quit.

I thought that the first time I watched it. I didn't like the vampires because they were kinda weird imo (sun does nothing much to them, their fangs aren't really fangs, etc.) but once you get over that, the first seasons are like little horror movies for each episodes. Since I started watching, there's only one episode that I really dislike (Bugs.... spiders *shiver*) on the entire 7 seasons. I thik you might want to try again 😉

okay, SPN promotion time over😀

What if you're not a horror fan? I want to watch it, but I get scared (and don't like to be scared) easily by stuff along the lines of ghosts--the supernatural, basically. So I've decided not to watch it.

But...you're a Buffy fan? ;)

Believe me, I am very far from being a horror fan. The scariest movie I can watch is Valentine's Day (with David Boreanaz) because it's not really scary. I get scared during Scream, so that gives you an idea...

The idea of SPN was based (according to the producer, Eric Kripke) on classic horror movies. For him, SPN was basically a (less scary) horror movie every week. Kinda like Joss, he wanted to adapt a cinematic concept to a weekly television show. The first season is the scariest, but mostly because it's darker and has a more grainy effect on screen (just like classic horror movies). But just like BtVS, there's lots of humor and family/friends is a very important concept.

Once you get into the 2nd season, scary is not really there anymore. By then, the story of Sam and Dean has really kicked off and it's all about them instead of all about the demons.

I personnally love how they introduce mythology of all around the globe within each episode. You get demons fron the american folklore, but also from asia, africa and europe. It makes the show that more special to get to know more about ancient and less ancient gods and demons from all arund the world. Plus, Kripke's version of God and the Angels is pretty interesting.

*okay, now is really the end of SPN promotion* XD

drizzlydaze agrees: So can I start from S2?

You'll miss a big part of the basics of the story, but yeah, I guess... And if you have problems understanding, you can PM me 😉

Results announced.

We teamed up with Awful Truth to find out which fanbase is the biggest and most devoted, and after tens of thousands of votes and many rounds of one-on-one competitions vetting TV shows against movies, superheroes against music icons, we have the winner of our Ultimate Fan Battle tournament!

In the final round, a WB classic and a CW favorite were the only two left to fight for the crown. So when Buffy takes on Supernatural in a fan battle, who comes out on top? Drumroll please…

Supernatural!

This CW cult hit is unstoppable! Most of the time when we have Supernatural or its stars (Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, etc.) in a competition, they either win the whole thing or make it to the final round. SPN fans, we are in awe of your devotion and love for the demon-hunters.

And we know they love you all right back. When Dean and Castiel were the finalists in our TV's Top Couples tournament going against Jeff and Annie on Community, Misha Collins was nice enough to tell us and the fans how he really felt about it: "So often Hollywood and pop culture portray relationships that don't reflect real life and relationships that lack a moral compass. I think it's nice to see a stable couple with grounded values getting this attention over that perverse relationship between Joel McHale and that girl on that other show. I mean, look how they're kissing. It's disgusting—you can tell they're not even using tongue."

And it looks like you'll be getting more of Sam, Dean and the gang since the recent showrunner shakeup is actually a good sign that Supernatural will be picked up for another season. And with a fanbase like you guys, how could they take this show away?

Congrats, Supernatural fans! You earned it.

Not a huge surprise, but honestly, if BtVS and SPN were both actually airing right now in their primes, BtVS would have won. Anyway, kudos to our fandom for actually coming in second despite being off the air for so long!

Very very happy that SPN won, but then again I would have been equally as happy for BtVS to win 😀
