Buffy is nominated for an Emmy...and wins!!

Hopefully we will get some sort of response from Joss and the cast.
 
Well it wasn't an award exactly it was just recognition... very, VERY long overdue recognition that they screwed us out of, but still not exactly an award. So it wasn't the type of the thing where they'd invite the cast and creators and such to be there in case they won, so no one was there besides DB, who had nothing to do with the moment anyway.
 
It pisses me off that the show still hasn't truly been recognised by the academy. This was voted by fans and doesn't even result in and actual award or recognition for that matter.

That is a bit dogdy that they didnt air it/ announce the award, it must have been a pain for all you watching it.

So I've been searching around for any kinda media reaction to the omission and haven't come across anything yet but on the EW site I did come across this 25 Biggest Emmy Snubs on which both SMG (#22) and the show as a whole (#3) are mentioned. So my question is, if all of us get it and the media gets it (for the most part anyway) as evidenced by Buffy making it on all these lists, then why didn't the Golden Globes or Emmys ever get it? And why would they knowingly rob us of what could finally have been Buffy's grand moment in the limelight? I just don't get it AT ALL!

Oh I got all excited when I saw this thread now says that it won! now I am all pissed off coz you dont actually get to see it! It aired here when I was at work and is going to again tonight I think, I was gonna watch but now Im not even gonna bother! Oh well, yay for the victory anyhow!
 
I'm glad Buffy won and all, but is it really winning if they are still not giving Buffy recognition by not showing the actual award?
 
I'd rather it not have won if we weren't going to see it aired - knowing it won and once again having its chance at on-screen recognition passed over is kind of a burn.

It sucks that other pieces of the show ran over and they couldn't cut a commercial break short or stop some of the people waffling to make time to show our clip - I was going to watch the Emmy's here in the UK via an online stream but couldn't find one - glad that I couldn't now because sitting through three hours just to not see the winning clip would have annoyed me more than anything else!

but honestly...i just sat through three hours of crap to see if Buffy won....and it wasn't even shown!!! So annoyed right now about that ¬_¬

me too. that was the worst awards show ever.
I'm willing to bet the Emmy guys didn't show it, BECAUSE it's Buffy. It's like they have something against it. I mean, there are many fans, the show won many (other) awards, the reviewers like it, producers love it, it's a huge success. Then how would you explain it? Of course the Emmy people don't like Buffy, and they wouldn't let it success more than other shows they do like. It's smelly, yuck!

On the other hand, we won and that's what's important. Kind of.
