Ever heard of the saying: "love is the best medicine"? I'm sure you have. But I believe that "Buffy is the best medicine". And I've heard it from others too, that whenever you're feelings down or sick, watch Buffy. You know what, it works like magic! It always makes me feel better!

Are you like that, have you tried this medicine? And do you have specific episodes that make you feel better when watching them?

I do that, not so much when I'm ill but when I'm feeling really low I tend to put on Buffy. I usually end up watching the first 3 seasons. As much as I prefer Spike to Angel, the innocence and lightness to the first few seasons make me feel better.

Buffy always makes me feel better. Even just anticipating watching Buffy after a long, tiring day is a good feeling. I really love watching Season 4 episodes to cheer up! A New Man, Something Blue, Pangs, and Hush are just hilarious.

Season 4 is totally underrated...😛

I've probably watched Once More with Feeling a gazillion times (that's totally a word.) That, Something Blue, and Tabula Rasa tend to do the trick.

Also, watching Numfar do the dance of Joy in Through the Looking Glass never fails to make me laugh like a crazed lunatic.

Oh, and a New Man! I totally forgot about how hysterically awesome that one is!

Numfar, oh my days, what a legend.

"Gazillion" reminds me of Forrest Gump, when he says "I'm a gazillionaire" x) lol
I watch season 3 when I am sick, it was the frst season I ever saw. I usally watch Anne because the line, "Hi, I'm Buffy. The Vammpire Slayer. And yoou are?" Cracks me up EVERY time. The only reason I started watching Buffy was because I was sick! If I was never sick then I would have never watched Buffy and never seen any other of Joss's shows, that would have been horrible..... I shudder at the thought of my life with out Buffy. 😀

I do the same thing. Haha I love that line too!!!
Oh yes! When I'm sick, down, need inspiration, etc. And I've got a different few eps for each circumstance!

Ohh yes ZoBo I agree with you 100% nothing can make me happy quicker than any revolving around Spike. I have 'School Hard' saved on my DVR and whenever I get sad or angry I just play that episode, or 'Something Blue' cos I love hearing Spike yell down to Giles about missing Passions!! Aww Spikey how I love himm :-D

Spike karma!! I have Something Blue memorized, I've seen it so many times!
Oh yeah, it always have positive effects on me!
The best was probably this summer when I had so many exams to resit I sometimes felt like I was going to fail. Watching Buffy, somehow, prevented me from giving up. It has that weird power to remotivate me, to give me courage, faith in myself and what I can do. Really helped me through!

Thats awesome!
I completely agree with the other posts on here, I went through a time a few years back of not watching Buffy, but it only made me appreciate more how much of a medicine it is for making you feel better.

For me, I think its the warmth amongst the central characters, and the belief they all have in trying to do the right thing, not always succeeding, but still keeping on trying. It really inspires me to bring that into my own life.

Also, some of the episodes are so funny and entertaining they can always make me feel better, episodes like others have mentioned: Something Blue, Tabula Rasa, OMWF, A New Man, for me also I'd mention Older and Far away and Hells Bells, this latter is quite sad in a way but the feuding between Anyas demon family and Xanders family I always find hilarious.

Totally Agree.
I just wanna mention another one of my favorite "feel good" episodes I watch for medicine just because it hasn't been mentioned. Band Candy.

Love that one, too! Who am I kidding I love so many!
@dopplegang

A New Man always makes me feel better! I love the relationship between Giles and Buffy and this episode is perfect. As soon as she sees his little eyes she knows its Giles 🙂 so heartwarming

When I need cheering up, I'd go for OMWF, tabula rasa, something blue or gone. That would do the trick. Also, almost any high school episode, I just have a thing about them.
I love that bit in gone where xander walks in on spike and invisible buffy....playing checkers... and its like
Spike: What am I-... What does it look like I'm doing, you nit? I'm exercising, aren't I? [starts doing "push-ups"]
Xander: Exercising? Naked? In bed?
Spike: A man shouldn't use immortality as an excuse to let himself go. You gotta be fit for killin'...
Xander: Ya-huh.

LOL 🙂

One of the best! I also agree about all the episodes that you mentioned
I feel better when I watch Buffy...except for Season 6 kinda depresses me 🙁

Of course Buffy makes me feel better! It's great because there are the funny episodes, to watch to make me laugh, but also the sad or intense episodes to watch when I feel like wallowing or escaping into someone else's troubles for a while.

I totally relate to the OP. I have been a migraine sufferer for 23 years. I often watch Buffy nowadays if I get one so bad that I can't get out of bed. About a month ago I was in bed and there was no Buffy on (no Netflix on the bedroom TV & that was before I got my DVDs), so I had to watch Twilight! Aaaahh- my eyes!my eyes!

And this winter I have caught every virus that is out there, strep & bronchitis to name two (it's those germy kids at school who love to breathe on me while I'm trying to improve their speech LOL!). I often post on FB while I'm sick & watching Buffy- I post quotes from whatever episode I'm watching, just to irritate all my non-Buffy-watching friends. Losers.
