Buffy-ize your computer

This is something that makes me smile constantly.

A member over at ********* taught me to Buffy-ize my computer with different soundbites. Now when a pop up window get's blocked, the Spike quote "Someone isn't worthy" plays, and when a programme closes, Spike says "We are finished here, ducks". Those are just a few of my new computer sounds.

I just went into the control panel and found the sound section and went nuts.

I use this site for Spike clips (thanks for the link Alexiness). http://www.amethyst-night.com/spike/index.html

And for the love of God, don't forget to save the new sound settings, like I did the first time. And I think the wav files might be the only ones that work.

It makes me so happy hearing Spike say "Hello gorgeous" and other sexy things to me all the time.
 
Oh my gosh, I've got this for mine! It says "Hi Honey, I'm home" when it turns on and "Party in my eye socket" when it turns off! 😀
 
Oh my god, that is so cool. I have a Mac, and I'm kind of computer-illiterate...how do I install these on my computer?

I would love for Spike to say "Hello, Cutie" every time I opened my computer. 🙂
 
I've got to do this! Too bad my computer has a virus and I have to wait until I can wipe the hard drive... But this is going to be awesome.
 
I don't do these things anymore, ever since a few years ago.

Back then I had the Friends theme playing whenever I shut my computer down. I also had an icon in my tasklist (or whatever you call it in English) to easily with one click shut my computer down. Well, once I accidentally clicked the symbol while I was in a really important conversation. Sooo, I had to tell them mny computer would shut down as soon as the Friends theme stopped playing, and then I would restart and be back online.
Well, ever since I avoid any custom sounds.
 
I used to have my old PC set up to do this. 😀 I had a Buffy desktop, screensaver, and icons and sounds. When I started my computer up, it would say "I'm Buffy, the Vampire Slayer and you are?" and then when it shut down it would say "Seize the day. 'Cause tomorrow you might be dead". 😉
 
Haha totally just revamped like 80% of my sound collection. My favorite ones I downloaded are for when I close a program (I have Vamp Willow saying her infamous "Bored Now") and for when I log back on to my computer (I have Buffy's "I was only gone for a minute").

Thank you for the site Skytteflickan88, my computer is now Buffy-ized. 😀

The site that Skytteflickan88 provided has a section called "Non-Spike Sounds." It's at the bottom of the page. They have quite the selection. 🙂

Whoa, so need to do this. 😀 I'm gonna try and find Anya voice clips, because of my Anya screensaver and, uh *cough* obsession. Totally good idea, even though I have my sound on mute most of the time. 😀

Alright so now i've jumped on the buffy-izing of my comp lol. so what sound files does everything have for things? (just curious).

for me i've got (so far)

start up: spike: home sweet home

pop up blocked: spike: someone wasn't worthy (yea there definently wasn't a better choice than that 😛).

log in screw up (got a fingerpring scanner on my laptop so if it reads incorrectly and doesn't log me in): faith: 'screw that'

shut down: vamp willow: this world's no fun
 
I have a Mac so I can't change the sound it makes when it turns on. If I could I'd use the quote "Did your life flash before your eyes? Cuppa tea, cuppa tea, almost got shagged, cuppa tea?" One of my favorite funny lines on buffy ever. I have it saying "Dont be a stupid git" every time I get an email though 🙂
 
I only downloaded spike's quotes from Chosen ++ In the dark++ Smile time.
It's saying that i need to buy quicktime player pro to get the 'Non spike sounds'
I have normal quick time though, i'm confused.

I have "I think I'll go play outside"(Spike, Harsh light of day" when the computer shuts down.

I wish I had a way to make my virus programme say "You filthy harlot! I'm going to tear your neck out!" when a virus is blocked. But I'm too lazy to fix that.

"Someone wasn't worthy" also plays when I empty my "trash".
 
It sounds like fun, but wouldn't it get annoying after a while? 😛

Depends which sounds you have on. I used a lot at first, and it drove me nuts.
