That of San Francisco Chronicle TV critic Tim Goodman's list of the 25 Best Shows of the 2000's. I won't say where it placed, but here's part of what he said(paraphrasing): It mixed vampires and teenagers as a metaphor for the emotional struggles..."and, hey, it worked as a series about killing vamps and demons."

FTR, Tim noted in a prior post that How I Met Your Mother just missed the cut of the top 25.

Go here to read it...

Tim Goodman. The Bastard Machine

and look for Best Series of the Decade: Numbers 11 through 25.

Yay! Though I wish it had a better spot on the list, it's still cool. Except this guy (girl? Not sure) puts Firefly on his 'never would have made it on the list' list. That loses him so much respect from me 😀

It's a guy, trust me.

But he does add he did warm up with future viewings, and that part of his original problem with Firefly was how Fox ran the episodes out of order.

I love it when Buffy makes another list.

Almost don't matter which one (except for the sexiest vampire which goes unconditionally from me to Spike). Being the single fandom which I'm interested in, is nice to see that BtVS is mentioned: bad-ass girl Buffy, most romantic couple bangel, greatest sex scene spuffy, first teen gay kiss on tv, hush, the body, OMWF, etc, every mention makes me smile and kinda proud to know a little bit more about the verse than the average media consumer.
