BUFFY MEETS THE DEVILS DAUGHTER
part 1
Brian and Graham looked at the building site, then to what
would be the service area.
“So the trucks will come in this way here do any unloading there
or any loading in that area half way along,” said Graham.
“Agreed, if we have the cleaning bays along the end wall all the
drainage ditches can be combined into one central ditch along
the end wall and along this side, a half inch slope to the middle
for the water catchment, then a few drains.”
“Makes sense to me, let’s have a chat with Mr Freeman, if we
get the ok for it we could have it ready for cementing today.”
So they went to the site foreman’s office.
“We would like to have a look at the factory plans,” said Brian.
“Which area do you want to see?” asked Mr Freeman.
“What do you think Brian? The exterior of the loading bay area.”
“What is it you want to see?” asked Mr Freeman.
“The loading and unloading areas and the cleaning, primarily.
Specifically all the drainage system plans for that area.”
“What are you thinking of?”
“One central drain pipe instead of several small ones,” said Brian.
“What would you need to do it this way?” asked Mr Freeman.
“Your say so, then get Geoff with his JCB up there, we could
have the ditch done ready for the pipe, in fact if the cleaning
hoses and the gutter down pipe were positioned we could have
it all done and cemented in a week instead of the two and a
half weeks that has been allowed.”
“Go for it,” said Mr Freeman.
As they are leaving Graham goes to the JCB operator.
“I will go and make a start marking out where the drainage
trenches will be.”
Graham arranged with the JCB operator to be there in about an
hour’s time. After he had helped move some sand that had been
left in the wrong place.
Graham got back to Brian as he was starting on the central drain.
“Like you say by putting the trench in the middle it will save
a lot of time,” agreed Graham.
“If we mark out where the ditch is in this yellow spray it will
be easier to see.”
“Right, when the JCB gets here, we could let Geoff know the
ditches can be done ready for the pipes to be put in.”
They had just finished marking where the ditches were to be
dug when Geoff got to them.
“The yellow line, that is the main ditch?” asked Geoff.
“I will be watching where you are digging. Just to make sure
every thing is ok.”
“Think I will do it wrong do you Brian?” asked Geoff.
“Not really, it is just that we had a game of noughts and crosses
with the red and yellow spray paint back there.”
“It might be a bit confusing that area,” said Brian, grinning.
Geoff started digging a trench for the drains, he was getting
near the required depth when Graham signals for him to stop.
“Hey Geoff, Graham come and look at this.”
Brian jumps into the ditch, he clears the ground away to reveal a
body. As he is climbing out of the ditch Geoff asks what it is?.
“I am not sure.”
“It looks like a mannequin, but that far down?” asked Graham.
“Yeah, my thoughts exactly,” agreed Brian.
“I wonder what this area used to be?” asked Graham.
“What has that got to do with anything,” said Brian.
“Well if we knew what this place was before, that would help
trying to figure out how it got there.”
“Look at where it is! it would have to be a thousand years old to
be that far down,” suggested Geoff.
“That rules out the mannequin theory then,” agreed Graham.
“I did not want you to say that.”
“Why not?” asked Brian.
“Because now the question is what else could it be?”
“I will go and get the Foreman here,” said Graham.
“I would like a closer look but if the sides collapse getting out
would be hard,” said Geoff.
“I was just been down there,” stated Brian.
“Does not mean that it is safe though, does it?” asked Geoff.
“Ok, if we mark where it is with a pipe upright in the ground,
one at each end of it. We could put some steps in, where do you
suggest we dig?”
“At right angles, a few feet from each end. Make some steps so
that it is easier to get back up,” said Geoff after a bit of thought.
“We could have an overflow for the pipe just there so putting
somewhere that will give us a safe access to that body would be
good,” added Brian.
Brian watched as Geoff started making the area safe.
“You know this continues to get stranger,” said Brian.
“Yes, like I said, it wasn’t dropped in there last year. It is to far
down,” agreed Geoff..
Mr Freeman and Graham joined them.
“You were doing a good job, so, what have you got here?”
Graham pointed to it.
“Is that what the fuss is about? It just looks like a big doll.”
“I think we all agree with that, what sort of doll is the question.”
“So why stop work for it?” asked Mr Freeman
“That is a bit deep for something buried last year,” said Graham.
“I see what you mean, let us have a better look at it. Brian went
down into the ditch, then rolled it over.”
“Ruddy heck! What on earth is that thing?”
“It is about as long as me but that face? those eyes? they are
massive,” stated Graham.
“Oh come on they are not that big, hang on, I have seen them
before. It is like an alien! Only I thought they were all about
three foot high though.”
“As far as I remember there some seen in Australia, that were
this tall,” said Brian.
“Can you bring it up here? let us all have a better look at it?”
Graham went down to it and helped Brian carry it up.
“This is getting weirder by the minute!” exclaimed Brian.
“What do you mean now?” asked Mr Freeman.
“Can any of you remember what the ground was like before the
trench was dug?” asked Brian.
“Mainly untouched ground?”
“Exactly, there weren’t any tyre tracks, no areas that looked like
they had been freshly dug. No, that thing had been down there a
long time.”
“What was it like to carry?”
“That is the other point, it bends and in the right places but it
felt hard to the touch,” said Brian.
“So?”
“It bends? mannequins don’t bend. The arms and the legs, they
only bend one way. Like ours.”
“Like ours?” asked Graham.
“I think we had better get the police, close this area, then get the
military involved.”
“Now don’t you think that might be a bit much Brian?” asked
Mr Freeman.
“Really, you think so? then there is something else. Have a good
look at its legs, it is leaking red stuff?”
They all look at it.
“I see what you mean, but it cannot be blood, can it? even if
it is a flaming alien!”
“Well we cannot chuck it back in the hole, I will never be able
to forget it,” said Graham.
“I would like a few answers as well,” said Geoff.
“Oh crap! oh well, alright, I will get the police in, while I am
gone can you rope this whole area off, if I had a tent I would
put it over that thing,” said Mr Freeman.

That afternoon in a nearby military base three surgeons had been
gathered to do an autopsy on it.
“Well they say bad news comes in three’s,” said Mr Andrews.
“You have lost me? three things?” asked Mr Davies.
“This body, there is a report of a big metal tubular thing having
been uncovered where they are putting a pit for a stone quarry
not far from here.”
“That is only two things,” said Mr Davies.
“Good isn’t it!, I wonder what is next?” asked Mr Andrews.
Mr Roper removes the cover over the instruments for the autopsy.
“Any-one any idea what to expect?” asked Mr Roper
“It is meant to be an alien! and from the look of the instruments,
presumably its body is in good condition,” said Mr Andrews
“Why do you say that?” asked Mr Roper.
“It must be in good condition, they want us here and we are all
surgeons. That and those tools aren’t for working with the
remains of one.”
Mr Davies goes to then looks out of the doors.
“Have we got long till it is brought here?”
“Why”
“After what you just said Mr Andrews, I was thinking about
putting the kettle on. I think I need a cuppa right now.”
“That is a good idea,” said Mr Andrews.
“Hopefully this other bloke should be here by the time we are
to start.”
“Some-one else?, who is it?” asked Mr Roper.
“According to the fax they sent me he is a Dr Rupert Giles, he
is in some strange government department,” stated Mr Andrews
“He isn’t a military surgeon?” asked Mr Roper.
“No, like I say, he is a Government man, him and his assistants,
they deal with green men, although I think I was told something
about D men but I can‘t think of a colour that starts with D,”
said Mr Andrews.
“What? You mean like those S.E.T.I. people? What will people
be saying about us?” asked Mr Davies, “Mind you, I hope it is a
cool name, like The alienators?”
“Well, I suppose it could be, it is what we are going to be
dissecting soon, how about The Dissecticons?” asked Mr Roper.
“Do either of you know who this Dr Giles is?”
“His assistants, who are they?” asked Mr Davies.
“A Miss W. Rosenburg and a Buffy Summers,” said Mr Roper.
“I have heard of them, in a magazine report,” said Mr Davies.
“Yes, I think I read that one,” agreed Mr Roper.
“I would never have guessed that,” said Mr Davies.
“Why?”
“Because you leant me the magazine the article was in.”
He glanced down at the empty table
“That is a thought, why would they have a doctor in the S.E.T.I.
program?” asked Mr Davies
“I thought S.E.T.I. was just explorations, a telescope, or those
satellite dishes.”
“So why a medical doctor?” asked Mr Roper, “Unless they
already have something.”
“If they haven’t, I’m guessing they soon will have soon. Just a
thought here but he could be a doctor in another field and what
you said earlier Mr Andrews, was it D men or demon?” asked
Mr Davies
“I think I will stick with science fiction, sod the demonology lark,
oh hang on, we have incoming.”
Four soldiers carried in a stretcher, on it a long plastic body bag,
which they put on the table.
“So what have we got soldier? What does that thing look like?”
“We did not want to look sir, none of us wanted to.”
“None of us, it is not human, that was enough.”
“Well I can’t wait. I am going to have a look,” said Mr Andrews.
“We will be going then.” The four soldiers left them.
“Who will do the honours then?”
Mr Davies slowly pulled back the bag, making sure that none
of the body was stuck to the plastic.
“How far down was this found?” asked Mr Davies
“About two yards in a drainage ditch that was being dug.”
“Why did you ask that?”
“Because I have seen these aliens before, loads of times in loads
of places,” said Mr Roper.
“Really? where?” asked Mr Andrews.
“Let me see, the film Close Encounters, those Viking aliens
from Stargate and then there are all the sightings.”
“These markings on its neck?” asked Mr Davies
Mr Roper looks at the aliens neck.
“I do not think they are markings.”
“What do you mean?” asked Mr Davies.
“This is a joint or a hinge!” exclaimed Mr Roper.
“Is that thing is a helmet?”
He felt around its neck.
“I see what you mean, it could be at that, here look at this
there is a slide on each side of the neck.”
As he slid both of them back its head came off!. Surprised,
they looked to each other.
“The Government people should be dealing with this, not us,
I will see about getting some-one here,” said Mr Andrews.
“Wait a minute!” said Mr Davies.
“What is it?”
“Look at it, the head, it is empty apart from three tubes.”
Mr Andrews looks at its head.
“What could they be?”
“I know what they mean to me,” said Mr Davies.
“What is that?”
“Time for another cuppa.”
“Good idea, I will use the phone while we are waiting for the
kettle to boil,” said Mr Andrews.
Mr Andrews waited patiently for the phone to be answered.
The receptionist at the Ministry of Defence answered the phone.
“Can I help you?”
“My name is Andrews, I am part of the team of four surgeons in
Bristol, I am meant to report to a Mr Griffin, I need to speak to
him now, it is urgent.”
“Hold on sir, I am just putting you through.”
“Hello, Mr Andrews, I did not expect to hear from you yet.”
“We’ve had a few developments, we want the security increased
here, get some of your people here. Oh! .. just a minute.”
He covers the mouthpiece.
He looks at Mr Davies pointing to the alien, then the alien.
“Mr Griffin, the sooner you can get some people here the better,
a few tanks would not go amiss we have a big problem now.”
“What is it?, what is wrong?”
“The alien that was brought in, I do not know how but that thing,
it just sat up, it is alive!. And you wanted us to perform an
autopsy on it?”
“I will get security people there as fast as I can. There are three
others, they should be nearly there,” said Mr Griffin.
Within ten minutes there were armed guards at the door, a few
minutes later a man and two woman walked into the room.
“Who are you?” asked Mr Roper.
“This is Fox and this is Scully, I am Van Helsing.”
“Who?” asked Mr Davies.
“We investigate alien cases. The English X-Files,” said Mr Giles.
The four surgeons look at them.
“This is Miss Willow Rosenburg, Miss Buffy Summers and I am
Mr Giles. We are the government experts you wanted. Just call
us by our names.”
“We wanted experts in alien technology not what you do.”
“Our bosses are trying to convert us,” said Giles.
“Us? experts at alien’s?” asked Buffy.
Giles smiles to her.
“So, where is it?”
“That little chappie?” asked Mr Davies.
“Whose idea was it to sit it up?“ asked Giles.
“It chose to do that by itself.”
“That is a first!, a living alien, hmmm,” remarked Willow.
“The alien is not like us, ten minutes ago we took its head off.”
“And yet it lives,” said Giles.
Willow looks at him and smiles. “He always wanted to say that.”
“He has? why? asked Mr Roper.
“He loves the old Frankenstein films,” said Buffy.

Willow walks toward the alien.
“Careful miss, not to close,” said Mr Davies.
She looks at it, studying its face.
“I wonder? what to ask you first? do you speak English?”
“Telling it to look at me? that is out then,” said Giles.
The alien’s head turns towards Giles. They step back, quickly.
“Did it understand what I said?” asked Giles.
“No, I don’t think it could have done, it must have just been a
reflex reaction.”
“But it moved, does that mean is it really alive?”
“I thought you said it sat up?”
Miss Rosenburg moved closer to the alien again.
“Look at my feet, then look at my eyes?” asked Buffy.
The alien did as she asked.
“Do you understand English?” asked Buffy.
“Why did you ask it that?” asked Mr Roper.
“He followed a command, but did not answer a question.”
“So?”
“Just like a robot, was that how they described it before?” asked
Willow.
“Yes, but one that understands our language?” asked Giles.
“Or we understand his language!” exclaimed Buffy.
“Before we say that to those big-wigs we had better have some
proof.”
“And what do we ask? forget twenty questions, this could be
at least twenty thousand. And if we get the answers we want,
there will be another twenty thousand questions,” said Buffy.
“So let’s start with how he got here,” said Giles.
He faces Mr Davies.
“Where did it come from? What direction was it?”
“It would be that way,” replied Mr Davies.
He points the direction, Giles faces the alien.
“Which way is your space ship.”
The alien points the opposite way to Mr Davies.
“I think we can rule out the reflex actions.”
“Which way were you going?” asked Willow.
The alien points the same way that Mr Davies did.
“Was it much further?”
THE ALIEN, “Yes.”
They all stand back.
“My god! ... it speaks!” exclaimed Mr Davies.
“Not just that Mr Davies, he can speak English,” added Willow.
THE ALIEN, “Yes, my power is returning.”
“It seems that you were right, we are speaking his language,
is there a map we can have? and double the guards here.”
“There should be a map in the office, I will get it.”
He goes into the office then comes back with several maps, of
Bristol, Cardiff, Bath and Salisbury plus the surrounding areas.
“Will these do?”
Giles looks to the Alien, “Where was it that you were going?”
The alien looks at the maps, then points to an area on a map.
THE ALIEN, “I need to go here.”
Giles looked at where the alien pointed to.
“That is quite a way outside the city.”
“I need to call for help, we crashed there.”
“Ignoring the obvious,” said Giles.
“What is the obvious?”
“The alien just said ‘we crashed‘, there are more aliens! he also
said they are here, so, who is this they? are they friends?”
“When you get there, is the help there?”
THE ALIEN, “Our spacecraft is there.”
“So where is the help?”
The alien looks about the room, it goes to a whiteboard then
tries to make a mark on it with his finger.
“I know what he wants, a marker pen,” said Mr Andrews.
He picks up a pen and hands it to the alien.
The alien draws a circle, then a short distance from that it draws
a smaller circle then points to the larger circle then points down.
“Oh my!”
Willow goes to the whiteboard and points to the larger circle,
then she points down. “The earth, and that makes the smaller
circle the moon! Where is your help on the moon?”
THE ALIEN, “The ... you would call it the mother craft is on
the far side off the moon, they will signal for our help.”
“How will you get a message to it though?. Like this?”
He draws a line of a message going to a spaceship via
satellites on the dark side of the moon. The alien looks at
the lines around the moon.
THE ALIEN, “No, straight to our mother-ship.”
“Straight through the moon? your help is there?”
THE ALIEN, “No it is several days away, many hundred light
years to you.”
“Before you said we? is there many more here? have you
been on this planet before?” asked Giles.
THE ALIEN, “The other me is ... that way, there should be
others here, near to what you know as Stonehenge.”
“How do you know about Stonehenge?” asked Willow.
THE ALIEN, “We built both of them.”
“Both of them? where is the other one?”
THE ALIEN, “The one that was there before that one.”
“You have been here before?” asked Giles.
THE ALIEN, “Yes we were known to your kind, on our first
time here we were known as the Sumerians, on our second
time here you knew us as Druids.”
There is a knock at the door, going to see who it is Buffy
opens the door. A soldier walks in. “This fax just came for
you people miss.” She reads the fax. then asks the soldier
“Thank you, can you get a truck for us?”
She goes to and hands the fax to Giles and Willow.
“We may have the space ship that crashed,” said Giles.
“Where?” asked Willow.
“In a tunnel under the River Severn.”
“We have a few minutes until they organise a truck for us, so let
us see what we can find out before we have to go,” said Buffy.
“Where we found you, why were you there?” asked Mr Davies.
THE ALIEN, “My power cells had run empty, then I was
covered with soil before I recharged.”
“What power cells?”
THE ALIEN, “I am a solar panel, the sun gives me energy.”
“So how are you moving now, there is no sun in here?”
THE ALIEN, “The energy from the sun will easily get to me.”
“Now when you said about finding the others, who are they?”
THE ALIEN, “They are our enemies, they are the Pavmirse.
That was the message, as they were here then they may still
be here.”
The soldier opens the door, “Excuse me Miss, the transport is
here. Sir, the minister is here as well.”
“Before we go, would your enemies be our enemies as well?”
THE ALIEN, “Yes.”
Passing any directions to the driver of the truck they started to
make their move. They the A303 road to Stonehenge. As they
passed near to the city of Exeter the alien gave them more and
more directions until they were at a theme park. Although none
of them knew what was in the theme park as the park was
called F.E.T.I. Park.
Driving into the park the people in the back were watching
what was around then.
“What does F.E.T.I. stand for?” asked Mr Andrews.
“I assume it is something similar to S.E.T.I.,” replied Willow.
“What does that mean?” asked Mr Roper. “The Search for
Extra Terrestrial Intelligence,” she replied.
“But what would the F stand for?”
“I do not think that my mother would have approved of me
saying what it is,” said Buffy.
“Why is that?” asked Mr Davies.
“She kept on at me when I was younger not to use the F word.”
“I think I should be alright saying it, I reckon it is Found, it was
about alien life forms or their craft,” said Willow.
“If you look up on the ridge you will see a spaceship so as far
as these people are concerned, the intelligence may have been
found.”
He knocks on the window, then directs them to the ridge. As
they get closer to the parking area for the spaceship, a plaque
was noticed. Mr Griffin got out of the cab and read it aloud.
It read of that type of craft having been seen over Moscow,
Mexico and parts of Britain. It stated that it was a copy of a
craft that had crashed in Russia. Mr Angrows went and had a
closer look at the spaceship, when he got back. “Copy my eye!,
if it is a copy, it is a very good one. It looks the same as the one
in the tunnel, it even feels the same.”
Mr Griffin got back into the truck he directed the driver to keep
going the same way.
“There is a crossroads up ahead, to the left is a space-ship, to the
right is another type of space-ship. Straight ahead are the main
buildings. The sign says there is a space craft in there, so which
way people.”
“We should go to the main buildings, if for no other reason than
to get a guide to what is here and how to get there.”
As they drove into the parking area the driver pointed to a sign
showing this way and a bit further along the track was another
sign that read TO.
“Follow the signs,” said Mr Griffin to the driver.
He told the people in the back what they were doing. As they
drove along the track. “There is another sign on the corner a bit
further on, it has A MOTHER.” Once they passed the sign
another became visible OF A SPACE SHIP, as they passed that
sign and around the corner, on the inside of the corner was
another sign, NOW LOOK LEFT. Passing the sign a massive
spaceship was seen.
“Cripes, now that is big!”

part 2

Willow looked at it.
"Now that has got to be at least a mile wide and look, there is
nothing keeping it off the ground!"
As they were looking at it a van with darkened windows pulled
up a short distance away from them.
"What do you think of it? this is our best display," said Walter.
"Do you run this place then?"
"There are two others but yes."
Mr Griffin looked at the spaceship.
"You know, that looks very authentic."
In the back of the truck the alien spoke quietly to Giles.
THE ALIEN, "It should, that is our spaceship, that is one of
the Pavmirse, our enemy. Tell your driver to drive close to it
stop while I get out, then if he comes back here as soon as I can
I will come back and then we will leave this place."
"What will you do?"
THE ALIEN, "Send a message asking for a bit of help, then
when we get back I will make a circle so they can come here."
"So how will your people come here?"
"I will make the transport for them when they get here I will
get them to tell you."
Giles knocked on the window. "Mr Griffin, that place near
Taunton, can we go there for a few days?"
"Sure, I will get clearance for us to use it, probably for as long
as we need."
Turning back to the alien. "Just tell me what you will need
and it can be done."
THE ALIEN, "I will need some rocks, I will make a replica
of Stonehenge."
That night they went to the place that night, after arranging
where they were to sleep and organising their evening meal,
they began to relax. That was until Mr Davies pointed out-
side, the alien was making a stone circle."
"Well it seems like he has finished, hopefully they will be
here in the morning, I want to know more about them."
As they were enjoying their breakfast.
THE ALIEN, "The leader, she will arrive soon."
"Will she look like you?" asked Giles.
THE ALIEN, "No she will look like you."
"Why is she different from you?"
THE ALIEN, "Her kind built us as workers, we do not need
to look like them."
"It is a good time to look at the circle. Three figures have just
appeared." They stop, look about, then walk towards the
building. Opening the door, Willow invites them in.
"Which of you is Giles?" He stepped forward to greet her.
"I am Annuita, leader of the Annuikan armies, these with me
are Anna and Anita."
"Greeting from earth, what are you going to do?" asked Giles
"We were called to rescue the two of our workers. To tell you
about who we are and to find our enemies."
"Do you know where your enemies are?"
"We flew over this area, the signs are that they are here."
"Signs? what signs?" asked Mr Davies.
"They are what you know as crop circles."
"Oh! so they are made by UFO's?"
"No, they are made by our people, to warn us."
"How many of your people are here?"
"Four, two have gone missing, but we will find them."
"How?" asked Willow.
"Where they were known to be, we will make a crop circle to
tell them we are here."
"The crop circles are seen as a mysterious thing, when-ever
one is found it is usually mentioned and several photos are taken.
"And the stone circles as transport, so we can get to them."
"You said before that you are here to battle with your enemies,
do you intend to be here for long?" asked Mr Griffin.
"We might need to be, why."
"We have a building that is empty, we could go there."
"It was good having the place on the island the last time we
were here," said Anna.
"This place? what is it name?" asked Giles.
"Its postal name the Manor. It is as good a place as I could think
of that will keep your identity a secret," said Mr Griffin.
"This place is not big enough, for their space-craft. The one we
saw was from that other."
"I hope they do not bring it here. How would they bring it here?"
"I overheard how, they cut a hole in our atmosphere."
"Will we know of the hole?" asked Mr Griffin.
"We have known of the hole but we blamed it being there on
something else."
"What is it?" asked Mr Griffin.
"Silly really, it is the Ozone layer."
"That is a big hole, just how big are their space ships?
"The one we saw could be described as "˜bloody hell that is big"˜.
That came from the mother ship, so are there many more?"
"Ask them not to bring it here then," said Mr Griffin.
"The workers left on this planet crashed. It is only because of
the help of a few people from this planet that we are here now."

"Is there much for us to do?" Anna asked Annuita.
"Soon you will find out," replied Annuita.
"Take us where we are needed."

Seeing all the Annuika had gone Mr Griffin asked every-one
to his office. "I am sure the place in this report is Cardiff."
"What is it?" asked Willow.
"Good, you are both here, please sit down," said Mr Griffin.
"Just tell us, is there something we need to do," replied Giles.
"I had a report come in, something that is, well, curious.
Have a listen. It says about a journalist, Mr David Jacobson,
from the Cardiff newspaper, he had gone to the school to see
the schools principal, a Mrs Guthries and the vice principal, a
Sarah Dewson."
"Is this important? we really need to..."
"Just bear with me, the school was due to hold an open night, a
display in the school's entry. The open night caused the reason
why I was sent this, the display was about the history of
schooling through the century in the area, there were a few
photographs, showing the little buildings that were used through
out the shire and apparently they give a good view of the
cramped conditions and how boys and girls were taught in
different conditions. One of the boys from the school, I think his
name is Graham was proud of his contribution as he had found
out about a person that had taught children how to read, now
that person was not employed as a teacher."
"Keep going," said Buffy.
"That person had helped the children with learning difficulties
how to read and write, so the authorities gave him their
encouragement, now that was in the year nineteen thirty, the
boy got those photographs from a museum in Bristol. The thing
is there was a private showing so that the children's families
could see what their children had done. The thing is the boy's
great grand-mother was said to have recognised some-one in
one of the photographs, she recognised a man as the one that
taught her to read in nineteen thirty, then the boy's mother also
said that man had taught her in nineteen eighty two and he had
not changed, he even appeared not to have aged!. Anyway that
same person was photographed again the mother and great
grandmother noticed that a sand pit had been created and in the
photo was the same man, the photograph showed him with
same looks, he had not aged at all and the play area was
finished twenty months ago.
It was the schools vice principal that caused me to look at the
report again, something she said that was in the newspaper, I
have the clipping, it reads; I agree, the other question I would
like an answer to is this, he looks about forty, so now he will be
one hundred and seventeen. Thing is, even if he is alien or
vampire, he helps, so I would like to thank him."
"Now another report, about pretty much the same thing," said
Mr Griffin, "About three who are Walter, Wynowna and
Waynne they had gone to a farm known as Ten Tree Hill, near
one of the nearby towns. They taught a young girl there how to
read and write, soon she is going to have another birthday. This
came to our notice because two of her grandchildren were
planning a surprise for her, Miss Rosenburg? do you remember
Cathy that drove the car for you?"
"Yes I do remember her, now she would be good here, she had
a head on her that needed the facts."
"I am glad you said that because according to Cathy and her
sister Chrissie they decided to try and find some old friends of
their Gran's for her birthday treat. They found some old letters
and a very old photo of some friends of their Gran, the photo
was in an envelope with a letter that described a cave on a hill.
Strangely enough, it was one of the few places that would not
grow any trees. They took the photo and the letter to their
relatives, but none of them knew about the people in the photo.
They had been to the hill, but they had not found any evidence
of a cave. So they took the photo to their grandmother, so that
she could tell them about the men in the photo and also to tell
them where the cave was. Her Gran had not seen the photo for
a long time, she said her Gran mentioned about the people who
taught her to read and write, she said they never liked the sun.
Those people stayed at her parents farm for a while doing work
for her parents, one of them was a butcher, the other two
would catch the animal and give them the meat. All they
wanted in return was to stay here, there was something wrong
with one of their horses. The younger of them was a curious but
very helpful man. They used to teach her in the cave."
"So as they couldn't find the cave they spoke about it to their
Gran and after several attempts they found the cave. That led
into a passage and that led to another passage which they
followed until the roof and the sides grew further away. In
the centre was a big flat rock where one of them used to pick
up their Gran and then Wayne would come in with some
books and teach her how to read and write."
"She was taught to read and write by them?" asked Willow.
"Well Cathy goes on to say that one of the tales her Gran
said about was a dance with one of the undead, something
to do with the circle of stones, that her Gran's friend said
he used to visit in those rocks. She goes on to say that her
and her sister returned later that evening by themselves. They
did take big torches with them, they found another passage
way but it was blocked by some rocks that were holograms.
Using the torchlight so that they could see where they were
going they followed the passage, until they found a cavern.
In the cavern were several books, very old books so they put
their torches down to read the books. Cathy said that her sister
noticed a mark on the wall and when she went started to clean
it to see at it was the whole place lit up, just as if the mark
was a light switch."
"Was it a mark or a light switch?" asked Buffy.
"They did not say about that because in the middle of that
cavern was a stone circle and in the middle of the stone circle
was a woman." "Oh no, not one of the Pavmirse?"
"Yes and no," said Mr Griffin.
"The woman apparently asked if the one either of them was
who was taught to read and write?"
"So Cathy asked if she meant her Grandmother? then three
others came from the shadows and they were the same as in
the photograph, Cathy asked why they were there. it was
Waynne that replied with it is some-one's birthday. The other
is Darlinga one of the original Annuika, she stayed to help
us humans, for that she has been ignored by them!"
"The three that taught Cathy's grandmother to read and write
now they run a theme park," said Mr Griffin.
"You mean the F.E.T.I. park?" asked Giles.
"Yes," said Mr Griffin, "Look, I have the photo of them."
"This just compounds it that is the same person we saw at
Feti Park," said Buffy.
"Put yourself in Cathy's shoes, the woman who appeared in
the circle, she said her name is Darlinga she said she is of the
Annuika, one of the first to be known as Sumerian and known
as a Goddess."
"What I don't understand is, well the Annuika have told us
that these Pavmirse our enemies yet some of them have been
helping those children to read and write," said Willow.
"You know, I am thinking the same thing, what if they were
telling us lies?" asked Giles.
"Then we have a problem, a big problem," said Mr Griffin.
"Can you expand on that a bit?" asked Giles.
"No, but Mr Davies can."
"It is like this, they say they have been here but they also left
twice, maybe they were beaten. Now that creates another
problem as we have to try and get the population to believe that
who we once thought were enemy are really our protectors."
"I do not see the problem," said Giles.
"Oh, the name Pavmirse is an anagram of vampires."
"There was a report I saw, it mentioned about a mound that had
sightings of demon near it, how about we go there and take a
look for ourselves, I should warn you though it is a long way?"
"And if we are wrong?" asked Mr Davies.
"Then say goodbye, problem is if we are right and do nothing?"
"Where is it?"
"It is near a place called Cervantes, in Western Australia."
"Oh right, well that ties in with what I read once," said Giles.
"What was that?"
"About the entrance to hell, through the land of stone pillars."
"So?"
"Well near to Cervantes is the Pinnacles National park, those
pinnacles were bigger once, so if they were once known as
stone pillars. The mound is there, demons at the entrance to
hell? okay, the Pavmirse or as we know them vampires or better
still, demons?"
"It does open up a few new ideas," remarked Mr Davies.
"How about this one then, mind you it is far reaching."
"Well go on then."
"The space craft we found in the tunnel, that had two of the
robots in it. We have been told that two robots had gone
missing, is it too much to presume that they were in a space-
craft as well?" asked Mr Griffin. "Keep going," replied Giles.
"They flew to close to the entrance of the Pavmirse base and
they were shot down, but the ground was to soft and the
spaceship was covered, covered in a mound. The Pavmirse
found where they went down but have never found them, hence
the sightings of demons, only they are vampires trying to find
their and our enemy," said Mr Griffin.
"It could be too much of a coincidence to ignore," said Buffy.
"Quite a few years ago I studied up on demonology, a case that
came across my desk looked as if it would head that way. It was
an account about an eye witness account of what was thought to
be the devil, that was on what is unofficially known as
Oldhobs Island," said Giles
"So?"
"Oldhobs or old hob is a nickname for the devil! The island is
officially known as Rottnest Island, it is about a hundred miles
south of Cervantes," said Giles.
"So that island is on the doorstep of the Pinnacles. Does this
mean we are going to be digging soon?" asked Mr Davies.

Mariana sat on top of one of the Pinnacles.
"What brings you out here at night?" asked Be-Elzea-boul
"Just over that ridge, some humans are digging into that mound
of earth," replied Mariana..
"Are you sure that they are human and not those Annuika?"
"Oh, I did take a closer look earlier, they are human."
"I will call some others, then we shall see what they are doing.
Looking to the west four answered the call.
"What is it?" asked Sarinouth.
"Some human are digging near here, I want you to come with
us," said Be-Elzea-boul.
"Then lead us and we shall follow."
Even to him, not knowing what they were doing was becoming
a problem. He flew above the humans, curious about what they
were doing. He had decided to ask them, as he was about to
land behind them one of the humans span around and saw him.
"Giles, a vampire is about to land behind you," said Buffy
"How did you know that?" asked Mariana
"I am a vampire slayer," said Buffy.
"Then I bet your head is buzzing," said Sarinouth.
"Why are you others here?" asked Be-Elzea-boul
"I am known as Willow, I am sorry but we believed that the
Annuika were here to help us, it is only recently after we
discovered that two or three have been helping children to
read and write that we thought that we were wrong."
"My name is Mr Rupert Giles two of the Annuika's robots had
gone missing and we found a text that said about the entrance
to hell, so given that vampires have long been thought of as
demon. We thought that the two robots had gone to close to
the entrance and had been shot down."
"That doesn't explain why you are digging here," said Sarinouth.
"It does, we think their spaceship that was shot down is the
reason for the mound," said Giles.
Be-Elzeaboul faced Mariana, "That might be what we have
been looking for, Sarinouth! if it is here we will need a cover
to stop any calls for help, prepare as we will need to protect."
"You, Buffy, you are the vampire slayer, if you stay there you
will know a pain that will be like a bad migrane, it may kill you,
if you stand next to me or Mariana you will be as normal,
your choice, you humans have long seen us as something to fear,
we do not expect that to change but your help will be needed.
You have referred to us as the undead, that is true as when any
light from the moon is on us we look like skeletons. The
one who leads us, you do see him as the devil, he is not, you
may be afraid of what we look like but you have no reason to
be, we will not harm you," said Be-Elzea-boul.
Forty vampires flew to where they were. Stepping back in fear
Mr Andrews was stopped by Willow, "I think we are safe."
"What are they here to do?" asked Mr Andrews
"They are here to do the digging for us."
"What will happen then?" he asked.
"Then I will advise you to come with us, where you will be safe,
if you choose to you can stay here, on the surface but it will
become dangerous as we need to stop the invaders."
"Have you fought with them before?" asked Willow
"We have." "Where?" asked Giles.
"We fought them when they were known as Sumerian and we
fought them with the Roman Army when they were as Druids."
Mr Andrews looked at Be-Elzea-boul, thought a moment.
"Give me a spade, I will help you dig."
As the mound was opened the spaceship began to be seen, eight
of the vampires hovered above it holding a cover which would
stop any messages being sent, when at last it was totally
uncovered it was taken into the entry of hell.
"What now?" asked Willow.
"Now it is time for you to choose, either you come with us or
you do not," said Mariana.
Buffy walked forward, "I trust you, I will go with you."
"Lucky you Mariana, we all want to keep you company."
Be-Elzeaboul rose with the wind, flying to one of the Pinnacles,
touching the top of it.
"Father the Annuikan spaceship has been found, it is with us.
Some of the humans are with us, as friends, we wish entry."
Be-Elzeaboul pushed the Pinnacle into the ground, before then
the side of a sand dune opened to reveal a large tunnel.
Looking into the tunnel Giles could see trees growing on the
sides of what seemed to be a very, very deep valley.
"I know this. It is Greek mythology, the valley of shadows
that leads down into hell."
After what seemed like hours, a lake lay before them. Mariana
smiled to Giles, now you know where stories of Charon came
from watch, she touched the tops of the posts and the lake
disappeared enabling them to continue unhindered They soon
stood on what was once the far shore. No more than a one
thousand yards in front of them lay an enormous castle. It was
not high, but it covered a vast area.
"The doors of the palace will be opened for us as soon as we
are near enough," said Mariana
"And here we stand ........... facing the Gates of hell!, well
some-one had to say it," exclaimed Buffy, smiling.
As the gates were opened they walked to the edge of the
covered archways, then looked each way.
"There's more here than I would have thought," said Mr Davies.
"This way," said Be-Elzea-boul.
Continuing through the archways more and more were seen.
Eventually. "This is the last door," said Mariana.
Peering through a crack in the wood Mr Roper saw a big hole in
the ground. Opening the door they moved forward, nearing the
edge of the hole, looking into it. Mariana threw a coin into the
hole, instead of it following a downward path it shot upwards.
"That is a new one," said Willow.
Mariana put her arm around Buffy's shoulder blades. She held
her tight then moved forwards. They both rose up.
Standing high above her friends, looking down to Willow.
"That was fun, can we do that again?" Buffy asked Mariana.
"The others will be here soon," said Mariana, "yet as we are
here I should use my birth name, Mari-Anaz-Eaboul."
"She is my sister, my fathers first created," said Be-Elzea-boul
"We did not want to miss out on anything," said Willow.
"Who is behind the glass?"
"My father, I will tell him you are here," said Mari-Anaz-Eaboul.
Suddenly the glass vanished and creatures started to emit deep
hoarse sounds as they began to move forwards, Mariana stepped
forward to ensure all was well.
"My father will listen to you but he will not talk to you, he wants
to believe you are not still with the Annuika."
"We have problems as well, for as long as I know you have been
thought of as evil, the destroyers of mankind, convincing
people otherwise, that would take a long time," said Willow.
"You may have just resolved a problem," said Giles.
"How?" asked Mari-Anaz-Eaboul.
"Well, if you continue with what you were going to do anyway,
ignore what we think of you or what our reaction to you is."
"What had you thought of doing?" asked Mr Roper.
"Attack the invaders, after we have you humans safely away
from them."
"That could be a problem, there are many who are curious,
they would want to see what is happening."
A small demonic looking creature stood before them.
"Then I will use the humans fear of me to keep them safe."
"Are you Hob-Eaza-Boul?" asked Giles
"Yes."
"I always thought of you as being bigger," said Giles.
"Tell me Giles, of all the places you go to, what is the one place
you are most likely to relax?"
"My home why? oh right, yes."
"My father has a way, his way will do as you wish. He will
scare all that has life."
"I have seen them, the Annuika, how can you defeat them?"
"By using the same battle tactics as the humans do, tricks
traps deceit, disinformation, gone are the days of massed battles."
"We cannot fight them, but we fly. When they are in their space
ships, that is when we attack. They have no defence in space
or in salt water," said Mari-Anaz-Eaboul.
"But they also have the stone circles."
"Yes, we have changed a destination for their main army as it
moves to attack us they will now go to the moon, we built a
stone circle there using the one of their spaceships that is at
FETI Park. We threaten a battle but without their main army
they will get in a spaceship then we will guide that spaceship
into the sea, the result this time will be the end of the Annuika."
"How will the battle start?" asked Buffy.
"My father will release a seventy foot high image of himself from
our Island, they will call the main army which will go to its usual
place, the Grey Wethers stone circle, only that is the one we
changed. Then the ones on earth are herded to a spaceship which
is directed into the sea, hence no more Annuika," said Mariana.
"Except for one," said Willow.
"What do you mean?"
"Walter has a friend, one of the first of them to be on this world,
Darlinga. She has a friend in Walter, she has chosen to help us
humans," said Buffy.
"Then so be it," said Mariana.
