I have always been impressed with the way Buffy composes its music, not just the bands or singers that we listen to, but the background score. It's all very movie like in quality, and that's what I love about it. Buffy is probably one of the only shows that whenever I hear a specific piece of score, it doesn't matter where I am, I can instantly recognize the episode that it's from. Christophe Beck, who composed a majority of the music in the early seasons, Thomas Wanker, who compiled music for seasons 5 and 6, and Robert Duncan, who did the music for the final, should all be proud for doing the show justice. I've always been a fan of film and television scores, and Buffy is no exception. Some of my favorites are below. What are some of your favorite pieces from the show? And not just popular ones like the Bangel theme. I personally loved Thomas Wanker's addition to show, especially in "Dead Things". That piano is so heartbreaking, and I've replayed the scenes many times just for that lush, beautiful score.

I agree I love the scores, I was really happy when they released a Buffy score cd 🙂

Oh do you have it? I don't, but I would like to. 🙂 But I've seen the selection for the cd, and its a lot that they've left out, but Christophe Beck is a genius. Heck, for a second, Buffy's scores made me want to become a score composer. 😎
 
I love the score from Buffy. I have a whole playlist on my ipod dedicated to it. And Sacrifice from the Gift is one of the best and saddest pieces of music I have ever heard. I can follow the scene with the music and it almost always leaves me close to tears.
 
I agree, the music we get from Buffy is like no other TV show I've ever seen. Two of my favorites are the music at the end of Lover's Walk where basically everyone is depressed, and then it ending with Spike's upbeat singing, and also the end of Amends where it's all Christmas-y and everyone is seeing the snow. So warm and happy and fitting for the scene 🙂
 
The Buffy score is amazing. I bought the score CD they released and I listen to it often when I art, to put me "in the moment". 🙂 The pieces are beautifully done, especially for a show who never had a huge budget for music.
 
I agree, the scores are absolutely amazing, and I have quite a few on my iPod. Definitely the best scores I've heard on a TV show.

When I drive on my car I ONLY listen my cd's of Buffy! Love the music of the episode with the gentlemen!

Where can you find these to download?
Suite from Restless is probably my favorite. My mom gave me the CD for Christmas. I didn't even tell her that I wanted it or anything...definitely a pleasant surprise 😀

VisionGirl I actually pulled the audio off of the youtube videos. I can not remember the website I used. But I got the link from the comments of one of the many score videos that is on youtube. It was on one that is not on a soundtrack. Sorry I am not more help, I wish I could remember the web site I used.
 
Yes yes yes, I love the score so much. 🙂 Got a bunch of the songs on my ipod. My favorites would be 'Suite' from Restless, 'The Princess Screams' from The Iniative/Hush, 'Faith's End' from Graduation, 'Slayer's Elegy' from The Wish and 'Waking Willow' from Becoming.
