Buffy Novel

One of the few I haven't read but Golden is always good. He gets the characters down pretty well
 
Yeah, I haven't read that one either- I tend to stick to the novels set in the earlier seasons- but like Keanoite said Golden is good at writing the characters. He gets their voices down perfectly, and rarely writes something out of character. Plus his plot lines are always very much a page-turner. If you're gonna start reading Buffy Novels, I would suggest starting with a Christopher Golden. The Gatekeeper Trilogy is one of my ultimate favorites. That one defintely surpasses all Buffy novel expectations in my opinion.

Oh thats a really good one! My personal favourite is Immortal...it's kinda feaky how much it mirrors events later in the show that hadn't happened yet.
Pretty much any of the ones set around the third season are worth reading. Although there is this one book seven crows or something like that, I'm pretty sure the author had never even seen the show... I have read fan fiction a million times better and somehow he got published!!
 
Oh, yeah, Immortal- another one of my favorites. And you're right about how uncanny some of the themes are in relation to future storylines. And Veronique is such an amazing villain. Have you ever heard the audiobook for it? Read by Charisma? She's pretty good, she does go for it with character voices, but her accent for Giles does admittedly make me cringe....

I pretty much have been looking for it for about 5 years! At the time I didn't have the money for it and then when I did it was gone!! There's afew more i always go back to...oh Sins of the Father was FANTASTIC!!! really can't recommend it enough. The Book of Fours is another good one and I loved..um..can't remember it's name but it's about a slayer who was turned...really really good
 
my fave BTVS novels are 'The Book of Fours', 'The Lost Slayer Trilogy' and 'Spike and Dru: Pretty Maids All in a Row'...'The Lost Slayer' and 'Spike and Dru' are both written by Golden. he's an amazing writer.

i have read Dark Congress, and while it doesn't hold to the S8 comics, in fact it drifts away quite dramatically, it is a good read, with a decent storyline, especially is you're a Willow/Kennedy hater, lol. although i will say one thing, IMO, the ending was rather abrupt and anticlimactic. just my feelings, but i think you should read it.
 
I really enjoyed Dark Congress but everyone's tastes differ. If you take my word, yes it's good. Go ask Malice is my favorite so far tho.
 
I've tried a couple of Buffy novels, but never was really impressed with them. A matter of personal taste, certainly, as I never found anything really blaringlr wrong with them, I just have trouble with novelizations of movies/tv shows. The same goes the other way, of course. Every time I see a movie made from one of my favorite books, I always leave the theatre feeling slightly disapointed.

Which book is about the slayer who turned because that sounds interesting?
 
It says audio cassette. That usually means tape. So it's not a cd no? "Immortal" that is.
 
Yeah I'm afraid it's only available in casette format. Annoying, I know, but there ya go. I think it's worth it though, especially considering how cheap you can get it now as DDD says for$0.47. I personally love audio books, as long as it's read by a good actor- I hate the ones that don't bring expression to the characters- because I just enjoy having the book read to me, particularly if I'm traveling. Also of course I'll admit shamefully that's a guy of the goodness variety that'll swing my votes as well, haha.

Oh! just remembered the name! It's called Tempted Champions. Normally I find the villians kinda uninspiring in the novels but this one is just so interesting. Sins of the Father is really good too, great Giles arc and Pike from the film comes to Sunnydale. His effect on Buffy's life was something new in the novels.

Well it would be good if I had a cassette player. Heck I don't even have a cd player anymore. I just rip my cds and putt he music on my mp3 player or ipod. I think I have a cd player in the shed somewhere, lol. Thanks for the info.

lol I don't think i even have any cd's, none that i listen to anyway ^.^ Everything is on my ipod lol

I did get a book on cd once, I liked it ^.^ but it was a star trek book lol
 
I know- I don't have a CD player or cassette player either! Kinda tragic isn't it? But ah well, hehe, got to move with the times.
Hmm...I suppose you could find official downloadable versions of the audio book for Immortal...I never tried that for that particular one but I have bought ipod friendly audiobook mp3s before.Most recently a Phillip Margolin one- Lost Lake which was just *amazing* and, coincidence of coincidences read by Kristine Sutherland (Joyce)- haha. But yeah,that was a downloadable one. So maybe they have the same for Immortal? *Ponders this*
 
Yes ye do have cd players! stick it into your computers!!!
