Buffy Novels - suggestions please

Hi everyone.

Recently I have been getting stuck into the Buffy novels again. I had read a few years ago when I was a teenager and have started enjoying them once more.

So far I have read:
Angel: Endangered Species
The Unseen Trilogy
Others in my collection:
Lost Slayer Omnibus
Cursed, Monster Island, Seven Crows and Heat *crossovers*
Chaos Bleeds

I am just on the Faith Trials v.1 which I'm a bit disappointed to learn is a season tie in rather than a stand alone book.

I'm also in the process of buying the gatekeeper trilogy.

Can anyone suggest any other titles?
 
It's been a while since I read them, but I really enjoyed "Heat", "Monster Island", "The book of fours" and "Pretty maids all in a row".

Oh and all four "Tales of the Slayers" were very enjoyable 🙂

I own "Pretty Maids" and didn't finish it. But it's pretty good, I just don't like reading very much. I'd say it's worth reading anyway.

"Tales of the Slayers" I haven't read and probably should because I keep hearing good things about it. It's one of the Buffy book classics. All four. And there is "Tales of the Vampires" out there, right?

Don't read "Queen of the Slayers", it's horrible IMO!

The Gatekeeper trilogy is my all time favourite, it has been years since I read them though. I also enjoyed reading Child of the Hunt. I'm re-reading most of the Buffy books that I have and most of the characters are very hit and miss in some of the books.
 
I have the gatekeeper trilogy but haven't got around to reading them yet tbh I have quite a large collection now. I read 3 whilst on holiday last year, the last one being chaos bleeds 🙂 I saw your thread about Obsidian fate and that seems worth a read.
 
I've got quite a few that I'm re-reading, there's Return to Chaos, Revenant, The Wisdom of War, The Unseen Trilogy, Sins of the Father, Paleo, How I Survived My Summer Vacation and Resurrecting Ravana.

I also have The Book of Fours, Immortal and Monster Island in hard back 🙂
 
I read Paleo and Resurrecting Ravana whilst on holiday last year. I thought the latter was good especially. I have a lot of the cross over trilogy's and the first evil omnibus too as well as many more. I need to get back into reading them really.
 
I wouldnt recommend Afterimage. Its not very true to the show. There are some good character appearances though like Harmony, Jonathan and Xander's dad. The character's are hit and miss. I found it hard to get into this book. The story does pick up though and is interesting. I think it was unnecessary to link the villain to Angelus's past. If you can get past the first part of it then it turns out nicely in the end.

Just the ones that act as a continuation. Like "The Gatekeeper trilogy", you obviously have to read part one first. But for the rest of the books, not really. They kind of act in their own version of the Buffyverse. I don't think they're canonical to one another.

I would recommend Amazon.com as the place to look. I've gotten almost all of my novels there. (Apart from the one the "Journals of Rupert Giles" and "Sunnydale High Yearbook" that I found at second-hand stores, and the omnibus collections I got from Walmart.)

You can find a lot of good deals on there. I recently got the "Chaos Bleeds" and "City Of..." novelizations there from under $15 bucks (excluding shipping)
 
Yeah I havae gotten a lot of books on Amazon. Wheel of time series, Sword of Truth seris, a song of Ice and Fire series (game of thrones) are the bigger ones. Ill take a look on there.

Actually, if you're looking to break into the books, you can find great deals off eBay through big lots. If you're looking for individual books, Amazon is probably a better bet, but way more expensive. When I bought a bunch of the Buffy books, I got about twenty or thirty of them at a time for ten bucks. Can't get much better than that.
