Buffy Obsessives?

Yeah, Buffy S4 is made much better if you watch it in conjunction with Angel S1, you get the solid Spike crossover, (plus Oz on Angel!) a couple of fun Buffy/Angel crossovers...and of course the brilliant four-part Faith crossover, which is one of the best parts of either Season. 😀

Still a Scoobie agrees: Buffy in the DVD player, Angel in the laptop, or vice-versa.

Still too much of an effort for me, lol. I'd rather watch a show all the way through, first ep to last, otherwise, I just lost the thrill of the show.

I started watching the show about two years ago, and I was instantly drawn into it. I do watch a lot of TV shows, but there's only been a few that I've been really passionate about, and Buffy is definitely one of them. Now for the past two years I've been watching and rewatching episodes, getting to know everything and discovering new things. I probably watch at least one episode a week, unless I'm rewatching a whole season (then probably at least one ep a day). I do graphic art and very often my art is Buffy related, it inspires me.

It's a show I wish I'd had with me as a teenager, a show I think I would have needed for many reasons, but mainly because of some characters that I can relate to very strongly. I would have needed that when I was a teenager, but it's been just as valuable to me to get to know these characters now.

So, it's become a part of my life, and my heart, and I would consider myself obsessed 🙂

I don't watch the show very often anymore, but I think about it daily and how it's impacted my life. I started watching it almost 10 years ago and used to watch multiple episodes daily. Usually finishing a season in just over a day. I'd read about Buffy online and talk about it with friends, but I guess over time other things made me too busy. I still love watching and put an episode on here and there. My fiancé just recently watched both Buffy and Angel for the first time so I did a re-watch then. It will without a doubt always be my favourite show. No TV will ever compare.

Yes, I'd call myself obsessed. But I can't lay claim to much of the awesome stuff many of you have done (e.g. writing fan fiction, RPG, essays).

I started watching Buffy 13 years ago. The first episode I saw was Anne. I can even remember where I was and how I was sitting! It was love straight away. I connected with Buffy straight away.

I've watched all 7 seasons of Buffy in order seven times, but when I'm not watching it all in order I often watch some of my favourite episodes.
I've watched all 5 seasons of Angel about three times. I've seen seasons 3, 4 and 5 five times.

I'm currently watching Buffy and Angel at the same time. I found an episode guide to make it work online somewhere. It's been great. Can't believe this is the first time I've tried watching them together before!

When I'm feeling grim I'll listen to the Once More With Feeling soundtrack.

I got a custom-made silver Buffy necklace (the Buffy name logo). I never take it off - it's great for meeting fellow Buffy fans.

I have collector cards but no action figures because I can't afford the really good ones.

I have a t-shirt that says "and then Buffy slayed Edward. The end."

Buffy is pretty much my happy place... Or, Buffy Boards is my happy place and Buffy is my favourite thing in the world.

I like the show, I find it entertaining. Sometimes I watch a couple of episodes a week, sometimes one episodes every few months but the show is always there, on a perpetual re-watch. I often read the script afterwards, research the references and such, make some notes.

But obsessive? Well, OK, there's one thing. I screw around with people who write monumentally bad fan fiction. Got a few of them so butt hurt they quit writing their crap altogether. Fun times.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer has been a big part of my life!

I would say I am obsessed with BtVS 🙂 I have been addicted to the show since I was around 9 years old... (and now I'm 23).

At first I only watched it whenever it aired on TV. I would also watch it if I caught a rerun..

When I was around 13 I started collecting the DVD's (it probably took me around 4 years to collect them all). Ofc I started with the first season, and then the second and so on. And I would always rewatch the DVD's as I got a new season... 🙂

I had a few years break... where I "only" rewatched the show about once a year (maybe a little less). In this period of time I also started watching Angel (I had to get the AtS DVD's as well). Also, I played the video game of BtVS, Chaos Bleeds. 🙂 I enjoyed it very much.

And now... for the past two or three years I CAN NOT STOP WATCHING BTVS! I watch some BtVS at least a few times a week 🙂 I watch them on my iPad... so it's on whenever I do my makeup, get dressed, eating breakfast, cleaning and so on.. It's kinda ridiculous 😛
Sometimes I marathon as well (not on my iPad ofc, but on the TV)... if I am home alone with nothing else to do.

Also, for the past two or three years I have started collecting the comics, which I enjoy 🙂

Recently I have also made a BtVS fan account on instagram. (LOL) 🙂

I plan on collecting the other canon comics as well.

How obsessed would you guys say you are?

Well, I'm not as hardcore as they come, but I'd consider myself a big fan, and am pretty engaged in the fandom - online and in RL.

I watch the show regularly, I collect memorabilia, and run a local Buffy Meetup Group where we have watch parties and do trivia. I also read essays on the show and of course, discuss it regularly on here. I have Live Journal where i often post about Buffy and I occasionally read Spuffy fan fiction.

As for re watching it, sometimes I'll just pop in an ep, and other times I'll re watch a whole season.
