Buffy Omnibus

Can someone explain the numbering to me?

I picked up the first Omnibus in the comic shop the other day, but haven't bought it yet. After the origin story, the numbers of the collected issues started at #50 and continued. Can someone explain why?

I'm assuming it's because they started with the comic series somewhere in the middle and had intentions to fill in #1-49 over time... but if there's 49 issues floating around, I'd definitely prefer to read those first before investing in Omnibi 1-3.

Any thoughts?

The omnibus is being published in continuity order rather than in the order they were published. When they were first published they jumped around a bit (time wise). There is also a good explanation in the front of the first volume.

I've already packed up my Vol. 1, but I picked up 2, 3, and 4, and I don't see issue numbers, just page numbers. Are you sure you're looking at issue numbers?

(Otherwise, someone who's got their #1 handy will have to tackle this question.)

Omnibus 2 is pretty good.
Has anyone read a stake to the heart? this is by far the best Buffyverse comic ive read.
The story is excellent, well put together and fits in perfectly with the beginning of Welcome to the Hellmouth.
Its original, well drawn and when you read it, it just feels like an episode of Buffy.
There aint much action in it, but the story and character development for the time is fantastico.

wow. just finished omnibus #4 and it was great. very nostalgic (mainly because it takes place during season #3).

anyway, for those of you looking for another episode of buffy, get omni 4 because there is an arc in it so long that it could be considered an episode. the arc is called "bad blood." i have to admit that i actually felt like i was watching the show when i was reading it. it had depth, story, character accuracy, etc.

plus, selke is pretty hot for a vampire demon diva.

Yeah, I got it a few weeks ago. Not as good as the previous ones, IMO, but that might be because I already have most of these comics in a TPB.

I thought #5 was the best one yet. The two main stories (the one about the mayor and Blood of Cathage) are easily the best Buffy comics prior to season eight, that i've read (not including TotS and TotV). Really enjoyable. Hope omnibus #6 is as good.
