Buffy Omnibus?

Just seen these on amazon. The first one contains Buffy: the Origin, and some other ones that are set before the start of season 1. The other ones seem to run alongside the tv show.
I was wondering whether anyone knew whether they are canonical, only the first one seems to have input from Joss Whedon.
 
Nah, they're not canon. Only The Origin is, since it was from Joss' Buffy script. I've got the first 2, but I don't think they're much good.

cool. i might get the first one then, coz i think it might be cheaper than buying origin on its own.
I've also got the first two. They are ok, some good stories in them. The vampires in Origin are ridiculous though.
From omnibus 2: A stake to the heart and Queen of hearts are good stories.
But after buying the first two im not exactly inspired to buy any more.
Still, they're better than s8, more in line with the show.

Wow. You must be the first person I've heard say they're better than season 8. You're entitled to your opinion, I've just never heard anyone say that.
Volume 1 is worth getting, though only The Origin is canon. Viva Las Buffy is a pretty fun story, and the one about Dawn and her teddy bear.

They're not in line with the show, however, unlike season 8. Many of these stories directly contradict stuff in canon.

I admit, not all were like the show, and contradicted. But a few of the stories(at least, to me) really felt like it had the same atmosphere and feeling as s1 and 2.
Some of the stuff in them is alright. As has already been said, they're no cannon. I own the first two.
I think the first one is worth getting. It has some cool stuff about Buffy's time in the psycho ward, which is fun.
