Buffy on Ross

Sarah Michelle Gellar to appear on Jonathan Ross' show.

Over to publicise her latest film The Grudge, which opens in the UK next month, Sarah will appear on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross on 29 October.

How will Sarah cope with Woss's razor sharp wit? Not to mention spending time cooped up in the green room with fellow guests Barbara Windsor and Geri Halliwell?

Personally, we just can't wait for Jonathan's resident singers, Four Poofs and a Piano, to give their rendition of the Buffy theme tune, or something else apt.

Also appearaing on TV in the UK are David Boreanaz and James Marsters.

Over for the Halloween event, David and James will be in the MTV studio for an interview on 29 October. Check listings for when the interview will air.

Thanks for posting that ChosenOne. I look forward to seeing that. I guess we'll find out if Sarah has a sense of humour, as Ross invariably takes the piss out of his guests something rotten...

BTW if anyone wants to check out the original article it can be found on BBC Cult - HERE

Woohoo a treble whammy.. three buffy stars all on the same day woohoo.. It will be fun to see SMG on Ross' programme.. i just feel sorry for her being put in a room with barbara windsor and geri..
thanks for sharing 🙂

Johnothan Ross... Fantastic. My favourite interviewer in the world, not just in the masochistic Richard and Judy sense... he's really good.

Can't wait to see this. Haven't seen Wossie's show, I hope it isn't like his movie review one as the jokes sound so dry and fake.

The MTV ones for DB and JM I don't know when they will be on but I am definatly getting my boyf to tape it for me 😀 Hee Hee

His delivery of the reviews is a bit dodgy, granted, but the reviews themselves are spot on, and the guy is something of a nerd, which is always to be admired. (He did, after all, attend the Kill Bill premiere in a one piece yellow and black leotard)

The chat show is great. He's a good interviewer, pushing the celebrities just enough to be entertaining. He has a gift for making fun of people without insulting them. You rarely get any new information from the interviews, but they're highly entertaining.

Well I will definatly watch it then, see if he makes fun of Sarah.

Have to put a reminder on my phone, as last time I forgot to watch this programme on BBC3 which had a Charmed member or a Buffy member on it.

I'm not too keen on him, he tends to annoy me on tv. His wife on the other hand is really nice, I did tv with her.

There was a reminder about this after Question of Sport tonight as I had forgotten about it too, so will check it out.

you little name-dropper :)
She was great, I always liked the sound of Japanese so it was a treat. As Ross said she was smart, sarcy and great to watch. Now I want to watch The Grudge more! Theres no cinema near me so I have to get someone to drive me (it plays late at night) gonna try and get someone from work to take me on Sunday, would be fun.

Well, I have to add my thoughts...

Sarah came across really well. She talked about The Grudge - she's here to plug the November 5th release in the UK - d'oh. She told of her humiliation in trying to find a proper toilet at a sumo arena. She side-stepped the question about a Buffy movie and she talked about David's propensity for farting and exposing himself on set. And she managed not to understand a bit of English vernacular ("going for a wee" btw)...and there was a hilarious spot (not involving SMG) about Jonathon trying on his new Spiderman costume...plus I noticed that Geri Haliwell ( another guest - ex-Spice Girl, least talented IMO) has a really horribly shaped nose - worse than Sarah's 🙂 For those UK-ers who missed it, set your vids late tomorow/early Sunday when the BBC repeat the show.

I wondered that it might not be beyond the realms of possibility that she might make a surprise appearance at the Hallowe'en bash this weekend in London featuring David and James...well I would if I were her...god, that sounded like a girly fannish thing to say...

edit - SMG also totally didn't get Ross's reference to Bonfire Night (November 5th for you non-Brits - Google the Gunpowder Plot)

And, as I suspected, Ross is a big Buffy nerd, asking all the old fanboy questions. I love Johnathan Ross. The man has no fear. And fair play to SMG, she was well able for him. Very funny interview.

"You know you're amuch smarter than a lot of actresses one meets... You've got a wit and an intelligence that is... unusual. I've had some people on this show and frankly they might as well have not bothered turning up."
"I won't ask who they were."
"It was Kate Bosworth a couple of weeks ago she was ***king useless, she was like.. it was like having a lamp sitting out here"
"(Laughing) Again, I'm petrified about what you're going to say when I'm not here. Did you say that when she was here?"
"No but if she comes back on I'll tell her"

This was taped Thursday after her TRL-UK appearance, The Grudge screening and her press interviews.

She probably left the UK Thursday night or Friday morning. She has more interviews to do for other countries.

Ho hum - another fantasy bubble burst - what's a TRL-UK btw? I feel I should know but am almost afraid to ask from fear of seeming unhip - I said "almost" btw 🙂

TRL- Total Request Live. It's an MTV show. Where fans can choose ther top 10 clips and they also have guest who are promoting there CD or movie. Sarah went there Thursday and it was shown around 17.30 pm in the UK.

It's a stupid show with stupid questions. David and James made an appearance Friday at TRL. Sarah just had a little video message for them from her appearance on TRL (Thursday).

It went like this:

Sarah was asked by MTV TRL if she could kick DB and JM arses and she replied:

"Could I kick David Boreanaz's and James Marsters butts?? Yeah I think I....wait a minute... I think I already have kicked their butts!!!"

James replied,

"Yeah you have kicked our butts but you liked it!!" or something like "You took it, and you liked it!"

So did anyone see her on Wossie last night?

She looked gorgeous really glowing and sparkly.

She is very chatty and Ross did start taking the mick, but I think he was getting annoyed cos he couldn't get a word in edgeways.

How about that story about the toilet, embarrassing much ::blush::

Ok so my previous opinion of him might be changing. That Spiderman suit thing was SO funny 😀 She came across very well, and I loved the 'whats the most common questions you've been asked' thing.

I thought that quite a bit of it was going to be about Buffy, even though she was there to promote her new movie, in the past the interviewers have made it mostly about Buffy. She did answer the Buffy movie question in a good manner, not saying yes not saying no.

I switched it off after she was on as Geri annoys me. That story about the toilet was amusing, especially when he said that some people would just leave it. Imagine taking a phone picture of the buttons! I was freaked out by the US toilets that flushed themselves so I can feel for her.

I saw her on JR. Only Jonathon Ross could to someone about "wee wee" LMAO

I agree though, Sarah come off well. Including her story of how she was american and in Japan that pretty much ment she could use the disabled toilet! And taking the picture of it!!
