Hey I made a Buffy quiz where I judge opinions on the show!
If you want to you can check it out here:

(disclaimer: this is for fun so if you get a result you are unhappy with remember it's just jokes lol)

What is a malewife? I just said Angel because it sounded right 😂
Also you had male characters down for girlboss so not sure I know what that means now.

I got 'good opinions' though so thanks 😂

Ha! I knew this was coming. I got: questionable.

Also had a good chuckle over the cavemen/astronauts reference 😂

That's my fave Angel scene. It's definitely cavemen, too, lol.

Oops I should have clarified it's kind of a joke that's going around right now.

Malewife is like... a guy/girl who gives you vibes that they stay home and cook and create a loving home or whatever. It's a vibe that transcends gender, same as girlboss. For example, ANgel would be a malewife if you consider him a good home maker/handy around the home and likes Buffy in charge. But it doesn't have to be that strict a definition.

A girlboss is kind of an ironic term? People used to use it unironically to describe women who are "bosses" sort of, but basically buy into the status quo to break glass ceilings. So faux corporate feminism i guess. It is mostly used ironically now, (like it is in the quiz) like I call my male friend a girlboss for, say, getting his groceries for the week. It's vibes based, again: like does this person get stuff done, is she/he a boss? But less of in a bad ass way in more of in a funny way if that makes sense. So to me personally Buffy is not a girlboss in this quiz because she's so genuinely cool, but Angelus is a girlboss because he has funny evil schemes and great fashion. He is not a malewife becuase he's bad at stable relationships. Buffy is not a malewife becuase she cannot cook and she goes out and fights. See? Vibes, but it makes a type of sense. Sorry this is long winded lol, I hope this made a little bit of sense?

Oh okay 😄 I stand by my answer then Angel is a malewife. I didn't know girlboss was being used ironically until now lol.

To my surprise, I'm apparently with the cool kids. I'm sure being forced to make a choice with few choices (which might use a measuring stick very different from what was intended) is a contributing factor.

I liked how easy it was, though, and no demanding a lot of info.

Just curious, is there a "one answer" on any one question that can give a 95%+ certainty that you will get a specific result?

Did not understand the malewife term or that girlboss was ironic now, but still got:

GREAT opinions. Are you Buffy herself?
Ya won. Congratulations. Best Buffy opinions. If only us god tier opinion havers could have given input on the show. Go rewatch Buffy, secure in the knowledge that you have the best takes.

Which... no surprise really. 😛

Although I do tend to agree with RachM a lot, so possibly this is just proof that I am like Cordelia and just test well 😀

I got bad. sorry.
Let's be honest, the real question is the final question - cavemen vs astronauts
That wasn't the last question though.

It was the last Buffy/Ats question, then it was about vampire media. It even said "last question" if I recall. Nitpicker Bob.
I would like to know what the right answer is for Buffy's political views, since it says the show provides evidence!

I'm another questionable one.

I got « bad ». I understand nothing to that show apparently 😂. I watched it since like 20 years now and still I don’t understand it haha. Too stupid ?

Its all for laughs lol, I had to put in at least one bad result. I'm sure you have other great opinions :)

Okay so essentially my reasoning comes from a few different episodes and the overall message of the show itself, but especially the episode Anne. Buffy literally leads a revolution of the working class with an actual hammer and sickle for weapons (that's my profile pic!) and kills the capitalist hell demons who are exploiting the labor of the workers and suppressing their humanity. As far as metaphors go, it's pretty blatant.

The conclusion of the show is Buffy sharing her power, distributing her power so it isn't just hers to have anymore. The show ends on the note of giving power to people instead of staying in line with the very hierarchical, patriarchal ideals of the Council.

Another thing I think is interesting is that Buffy is usually in direct opposition with Anya, a self proclaimed capitalist, and shows visible disgust when Anya suggest charging for her slaying services.

Buffy canonically does not like cops. We see this during the career day episode.

Buffy is a worker herself who knows first hand how the system is not designed to support her/other workers.

There's definitely more examples of Buffy' sociopolitical values but these are the major ones.

So I come down on the side of Buffy being an explicit leftist, but I also see how she might consider herself a dem even though she's more left than she thinks just because she doesn't have time to read a lot of theory. Both of those answers make sense to me.

The role of class itself plays a really interesting role on the show. I might make another post just about this topic in general but idk.

Priceless

I'd like to read a thread about class on the show

Thanks for the explanation! Personally, I was hoping Buffy was a Dem, but wasn't sure. Though the line, "She supports Sanders and Warren" - well, maybe the former, but Warren shot her! (Heh, I know you meant Elizabeth W.)
