I've heard that to. It's annoying how they sometimes have to cut scenes that would answer the questions we all have...
She didn't handle losing Angel too well, and she made a mistake, thinking she could get over him that fast, but she couldn't. So she got hurt.
 
Parker silliness

I agree that the Parker sitch went on way too long; she spent what, 3 or 4 episodes stuck on the Parker mess. But as much as it sucks for the writers to throw in this inane wimpy Slayer storyline (she can save the world but she can't get over some scrawny, boy-band looking dweeb?), it did lead to the very funny Beer Bad in which she gets to cave-girl bash him in the head, twice! Very nice!
 
I remember that I almost liked Parker in the beginning. I mean more than I liked Riley. And now when I watch these episodes it's so obvious "what kinda guy" Parker is.. but I didn't really think so when I forst saw these episodes.. I do agree with what many of you have said.. about Buffy proving that she's over Angel and all that.. But I don't think you'd have to be stupid to think Parker was kinda nice..

But what are those things that you notice about Parker in the beginning, that tells you what he is or how bad he will treat Buffy..? Sure, when I watch those episodes now I see what a guy he really is, but I don't really agree that it's that obvious.
 
i think it really was out of character for buffy but at the same time, it was not. it was exactly in character given the circumstances she was in. she was heartbroken and thrown into an entirely new world, this is a opretty much deadly combination and she was the perfect victim for someone like parker. while a normal girl could see through his act, buffy was in no state to do that. she what happened to her was what happens to many other girls and well... just as joss meant to say - that's life.
 
Okay, no offense to anybody here, but why should we have to defend Buffy??!! She is not the one in the wrong here! Remember some nasty little love rat named Parker?

Yea! Atleast Buffy felt there was something between them. Parker was just being a sleeze.
 
And Buffy was still getting over Angel, if you watch one of the commentaries with Jane Espon she says at how orignally at the end she had Buffy talk about how she thought she cheated on Angel or something like that, she was trying to move on and it didnt go so well.
 
The whole reason they parted was so she could move on so she tried. If 'not being over someone = no sex' was what fans thought than there wouldn't be so many spuffies.
 
Well she didn't really just let him do it to her. She hit him over the head with something solid! :: teeth : Which I would have done, too!

I agree with a lot of people here: Buffy was just hurting and, hey, she just entered college!

Sarah Michelle Gellar was quoted saying:

It's just something that happens. And then, of course, Knight-In-Shining-Hair Riley comes along and sweeps her off her feet.... So cute! But, no Angel.
 
O wow the whole thing with Buffy and Parker was so silly I think Buffy worried about it way to much I mean I understand he was her first since the whole Angel incident and all but still... it was a one night stand... Although I loved in "Beer Bad" when Parker was talking to Willow and Willow told him off God I was all standing up cheering her on 🙂
