Buffy Party 2009 - London

Hey, I'd like to join too, but only if we can use Buckingham Palace as venue.

No in fact I don't mind as long as I get a clean bed and loads of drink. I like drink. It's healthy. However, I'll be nervous as hell meeting people, so I'll stick with the guys behaving weird, I doubt I'll stick out ^^

August sounds perfect for me.

My house is fine, but I think it might be better if we all meet in Central London.

Victoria and Kings Cross are the best and both have a direct link (Victoria Line) which would be easier (prefer Victoria myself).

I think just because some people might be a little nervous and what not, maybe a public venue for drinks, a meal and decide on clubbing would be better?

I know ALL the great (read cheap and cheerful) places.

I suggest we aim for the week ending 9th of August as a approximate date, that would give us the Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th as days fo fun for those staying.

Also, because I live in London if people wanna stay a few extra days and need someone to show them around, let me know and I'll book a couple of days off.

Oh that weekend could already be bad, as I tend to go to a Drama Summer School in Ireland, which tends to be in the first week of August, so that weekend might be for me personally not possible, but at the same time, if I'm already in Ireland I might be able to get a flight from Dublin into London and just do some island hopping. ^^

However, one should just pick a date and then see who can make it and who can and then there always might be a chance of some other time 🙂

Yes! Me! Me! Me!
Anyway, that week sounds good for me. Does anyone know where to find nice and cheap beds for me to sleep in, and not too far from wherever party central is going to be?

Well IF you get a group of say three to share a room and book way in advance, you could try Travelodge.

As I said above Travelodge do a £21 a night dealio so IF say three share a room booking in April/May, you could feasibly get a hotel for £7 a night.

I would suggest either East Croydon (as thats where I live so could be on hand to take you out) because its 17 minutes on the train to central London (London Bridge or Victoria) OR try for a Travelodge in the Centre of London.

FYI, if we do go clubbing there are buses all over London all night PLUS to East Croydon there are trains ALL night so no issue with travel at all.

Three people? I know of three people ^^ A little Smeermaas summer reunion of campus. that would be "von" 😛 (little in-joker here). ^^

When I was last time staying over night in London, I stayed at a hotel called California. Was okay, but not great, but hey, we are in London and who wants to sleep all night long? It was near King's Cross and was quite well connected. The entire idea sounds like fun to me 🙂

If you're in Ireland, again get the dates sorted in advance and you can pick up a very cheap flight from somewhere like EasyJet.

I would suggest you aim for one of the three areas in central London.

Kings Cross
Victoria
London Bridge

They are very well connected to every part of London and not bad areas to stay in.

I'll look around April to find some cheap hotels...if I remember

Well me and DoI at the moment, I'm not sure how else has decided yet. I think we can coax Spoons to come along.

This sounds rather interesting especially with quite a few people interested, I myself am now I see who else is going although I think I'd have to think on it some more before booking anything if thats alright? :santa:

I'll be heading straight to Paddington. With a bottle of gin, 'cos a cask of Tribute will be too heavy for the tube 🙂

This is vacation time, so count me in. I just hope I'll have enough money, but my birthday is in late June, so hopefully that won't be an issue.

Good - you're bringing Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb anyway!!!

Maybe we could do the sad tourist thing and hit all the hotspots like Tower of London and what not?

Anyway whats happening with all this? 😀
