Buffy Party 2009 - London

Hey, Cangel and I were just talking about this. if we want to stay in an affordable way in London for a couple of days, we should start looking for a room right about tomorrow, so is there an update on when, exactly? And where are the good places to stay? I remember EB saying something about travelodge and east croydon?
 
I'm going to crawl down to London for the meetup, shouldn't take me too long, and I'll bring a cardboard box to sleep in. I'm pretty much sorted.

Look at that - You really need to start looking now though, its getting that season.

I recommend we aim for Friday 7th to Sunday 9th BUT if anyone stays around longer I would be more than happy to keep people entertained.

I recommend you start crawling now. The CB Box is a good idea as its a mobile home🙂
 
Okay everyone. Cangel and I are going to stay at this place, in Croyden. Because it's cheap and quite near where EB lives so that's also convenient. Now we were thinking; maybe we could stay there together with everyone who's coming for more than just one day, so we can annoy the travelodge staff more efficiently and travel together and play games with the lifts or whatever. I'm just saying it could be fun, and not to mention, it's cheap, or at least cheaper than actually staying IN London.

That is literally 15 minutes from where I live - and thats walking NOT car travel (or Tram).
Yeesh. On the plus side, we can get drunk and get you guys home relatively safely.

So, what dates have you booked?
 
We haven't booked yet, since I have to get my hands on my mum's credit card first, but I think we're going for 6/7 august till around the 14th, so we can also have some time to explore the city and all. And do some serious shopping. And maybe even ride the circle line all the way round 😛

Ohhh thats cool. I will definitely put some time aside to show you around - I'll even take you out in Croydon to Reflex a VERY good night club - haha).

You can ride the Circle Line around BUT you also have to remember you have to get off and go to the Library too!
Ohh and IF you can choose airports, you should try for Gatwick, but if you have any issues, I could always meet you and show you how to get to your hotel.

I haven't been keeping up with this thread, but since you're on page 8 I thought I'd ask if the plans are anywhere near finalised and if so, what the dates and the program is. Cause London is just a short (and cheap) plane-hop away from the Netherlands and I'd love to visit a BB meet.
 
The dates are probably 7th 'till 9th of August (that's a weekend). If you want a grand tour of London from EB, stay a couple of days longer. I think we're going to go out at night, see some nightclubs from the inside, and all the people that are horrible with people are gonna sit in a corner, biting nails and singing children's songs ^^ It's gonna be great fun.

Also, pshh: Cangel and I are taking the train, because trains are fun. You're from not that far from Maastricht, right? We could travel together. And it's probably cheaper than flying in summer, to London, you know?

I've been to London by boat and plane, so a train could be kinda fun!
Okay, I'm a n00b, but I'd love for a meet up. I've been to a hell of a lot of meets on another forum I'm a part of (if RYL means anything to anyone on here drop me a PM!).

The nearest (main) train station to me is actually Gatwick Airport so I'd be willing to meet people off planes etc before travelling up to Croydon.

I think we bookes something from the 6th of August til the 13th of August, or something along those lines. So we were assuming the whole thing would take place on the weekend 8-9th of August. The rest of the week is just the paperdol,l and Cangel added shopping bonus 😀
