Buffy Party 2009 - London

Sorry to squeeze in, but I'm from London and I read 'London' and got all excited... lol.
So is everyone posting here from London and going to meet up in London or is this an international gathering... in London? 🙂

Good thing it's almost because I wasn't. :P Just stating a fact. If I'd gone to one of the meetings it would have been the one in London but I'm not going for several reasons.
Speaking as another drunk randy cat...I'm also not really good with the sining (think of Angel's "everybody have fun tonight" and then imagine everything reeaaaalllyyyy off key). BUT when I'm drunk I usually say yes to anything, especially to stuff I know I will regret in the morning (that kinda just excites me further), so I'm totally in for the karaoke idea (sw)

Its actually a bit of both - there are some Londoners on this forum, for you see I, myself, live there, as does Sibby, Queen Crabbit and someone else but I can'[t remember who!

I see 🙂 I didn't think there'd be so many British people on here but there are quite a lot... if not the majority.
Well, I'm a Londoner too.
London rules, hands down. It's why we're hosting the Olympics 😀
 
So is the date for this on the 8th August? Do we have a meeting place planned and a time?

I have to say I'm boring I hate singing 🙁

I'm going to do my best to be there.
 
Guys, I've booked a dingy little hostel room for the 7th and 8th of August (since I am flying home on the 9th at around 9 in the evening). So I really am hoping it's on the 8th...because that's pretty much all the time I have.

So is there a cemented plan?
 
If those are the dates then sadly I won't be able to make it, I have friends over from Bermuda then.
 
Okay, I reckon the 8th August (as that seems to be the date sorted so far?).

Probably the best bet is to meet at a large-ish station in London, if people want to meet in London? Or was it going to be Croydon?

Perhaps if people wanted to do the kareoke/pub thing, we could meet up in central london in the day, and then head off wherever Al said in the evening?

And yes, I think the plan was the 7th/8th/9th weekend combo. Well, at some, or all ((sw)) of those.
 
In that case I suggest meeting at a main London Station - Waterloo, Kings Cross or Victoria. & then we can decide what to do/where to go from there?

A good place to end up is the Whetherspoons at Marble Arch, as it's rarely busy and quite big, and you can get food & drink there, and people under 18 can go in quite easilly [you just have to have ID at the bar if you want alcoholic beverages].

I think the 8th is going to be best for most people as I know quite a few of us work/will be working, and therefore won't be able to make Friday/won't want to be hungover on Monday from Sunday night shenanigans!

Anyway, just because of the extra arrangements people have to make, the Saturday would probably be the better option.

I would also (closer to the time I will confirm) suggest we meet at Victoria Station as a group because we can sit in the Wetherspoons and drink while we wait for everyone and watch over the main concourse!

As for what to do after we meet, some of us Londoners can plan a wicked night out!

At the time of the meet I will have been in my new job for about 3 weeks so will still be trying to make a good impression! Plus I get migranes that develop a lot more easily when hungover. Oh lord, these are such girly excuses! Haha.

Anyways, I agree with Al that Victoria is probably the best place to meet up, its easy to get there, and I don't think it's too far from where we're staying (but then again, it might be on the other side of the city. I'm not good with those things 😛)
I still like the idea of an Andy-memorial karaoke thing, if its not going to be too difficult/expensive to organise. But I'll leave the planning of the festivities to you London types 😉
